This study aims to examine the scientific literacy and pedagogical competence on the ability to comprehend the religious integration amongst Islamic education pre-service teachers. This research used a quantitative approach involving 156 participants from several universities. Data were obtained through conducting survey. Data analysis was performed with bivariate correlation. Based on the data analysis carried out, the finding showed that the significant correlation between scientific literacy skills and pedagogy competence to the ability of religious integration thinking skills within Islamic religious content and values. This is based on the value of sig. (2-tailed) between X1 (Science Literacy) to the integration ability obtained that the value of 0,000, which means <0.05. This data proves that there is a significant correlation between the ability of scientific literacy skills and pedagogy skills to the ability of science integration comprehension amongst the Islamic education pre-service teachers.   Received: 2 September 2021 / Accepted: 30 October 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022

The idea of science integration which is an important issue of Muslims today demands attention to the study of science classification. This topic is among the least touched in discussions related to Islam and science. This article is the result of a literature review that raises classical Muslim intellectual thoughts related to the classification of science. During the heyday of Islam, this issue received serious attention from many Muslim intellectuals at that time. The important findings from this paper are that: First, the repertoire of thought in the classification of science in Islam shows the great enthusiasm of Muslim scientists in the development of science whose impact can be felt today. Second, although there are various variations in the classification of science, they still provide respect and space for metaphysical or religious sciences. Third, there are two patterns in the classification of science as stated by Muslim scientists, some are strongly influenced by the Greek tradition, and some are based on Islamic treasures. This division in the present context, this idea is similar to the view of Islamization of science and the view of Islamic scholarship.

“This research is based on the reasoning that transformation of IAIN to UIN can not release the expectation to do the integration of science and shake off dichotomy both Islam and science. The dichotomous of Islam and science appear in cosequence of the differences at the level of ontological, epistemological and axiological in religious sciences (Islam) and general sciences. In response to preliminary research and findings with respect to science integration in UIN, researchers assume to do comprehensive research to find out at analyzing the implementation of the integration of science in UIN throughout Indonesia, especially in the context of curriculum design and the learning process

The Qur'an is a source of value in the development of religion, morals, and knowledge for early childhood, especially for Muslim children. The integration of science-based knowledge is often highlighted at every level of education, especially in PAUD. This study uses a qualitative descriptive with the type of document analysis or content analysis. The data analysis technique used refers to the Saussure model. The stages in the analysis of research data are content analysis, information grouping, data interpretation, and verification. Testing the validity of the data using the credibility test, namely by increasing the persistence of researchers in terms of reviewing the important points of the analyzed content. The results showed that the animated film Riko the series became a science learning solution that was integrated with Al-Qur'an learning to give meaning to Al-Qur'an learning so that it was not limited to memorization but could be directly related to children's daily lives.

In Canada, Indigenous youth have remained resilient despite being confronted with a wide range of structural and systemic risks, such as long-lasting boil water advisories, over-representation in the child welfare system, and injustices related to land treaties. As people of the land, all disruptions to ecological health are a disruption to personal and community holistic health. Land-based activities and cultural continuity strengthen pathways of perseverance for Indigenous youth (Toombs et al., 2016). For youth, cultural self-expression and personal agency are enhanced with digital platforms, which are well-suited to Indigenous people’s strengths in art, music, and oral forms of passing on knowledge. The field of mental health has turned to e-supports such as mobile applications (apps) that can provide easy-to-access intervention, when needed. To date, resilience interventions have received comparatively less attention than the study of resilience factors and processes. It is timely to review the extant literature on mental health apps with Indigenous youth as, currently, Indigenous apps are in early research stages. Critically reviewing work to date, it is argued that an inclusive and expansive concept of resilience, coherent with Indigenous holistic health views, is well-positioned as a foundation for collaborative resilience app development. To date, few mental health apps have been researched with Indigenous youth, and fewer have been co-constructed with Indigenous youth and their community members. The current literature points to feasibility in terms of readiness or potential usage, and functionality for promoting an integrated cultural and holistic health lens. As this effort may be specific to a particular Indigenous nation’s values, stories, and practices, we highlight the Haudenosaunee conceptual wellness model as one example to guide Indigenous and non-Indigenous science integration, with a current project underway with the JoyPopTM mHealth app for promoting positive mental health and resilience.

This study aimed to explain the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Islamic religious higher education which refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), the National Higher Education Standards (SNPT), and the Science Integration-Interconnection Paradigm as an orientation for scientific development at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This research used qualitative methods with a naturalistic qualitative approach. The research took place at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education (FITK), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta with a focus on the study program of PAI. The subjects of this study consisted of the Dean, Deputy Dean, and Chair of the Study Program, lecturers, and students of PAI. The research procedure was taken in four steps: observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed by using the inductive model. The findings of the study indicated as follows; first, curriculum development emphasizes the clarity of the graduate profile, learning outcomes, the PAI field of study as the scope of development, the weight of the semester credit units. Second, curriculum development accommodates professional teacher competencies with four competencies; pedagogic, personality, social and professional. Third, curriculum development in the PAI Study Program emphasizes aspects of Islamic Education with its main sources, namely the Al-Qur'an and Al-Hadith.
