Us researches are related with the zinc and magnesium effect on cadmium reproductive toxicity. It is found that the zinc and magnesium addition to the feed of rats restores the yellow bodies’ number in the ovary, increase the survival index and newborns weight.

Effect of penicillin- ciprofloxacin combinations on some semen characteristics and bacterial contaminants of diluted bull semen was determined and compared with those of penicillin- streptomycin combinations. Sperm motility, percentage of dead and abnormal spermatozoa and survival index did not differ significantly for penicillin (1000 IU) and ciprofloxacin (125, 250, 500, 1000 ug) combinations per milliliter of diluted bull semen from those of penicillin (1000 I.U) and streptomycin (500 ug) combination / ml. Each penicillin ciprofloxacin combination effectively controlled bacterial growth. However penicillin streptomycin combination did not effectively control the growth. Accordingly, the combination of penicillin- ciprofloxacin seems to be a satisfactory substituent for penicillin- streptomycin combination for controlling bacterial contaminants in diluted bull semen without impairing semen characteristics.

Pineapple peel (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) has a potential natural-based anthelmintic agent. This study aimed to determine the effective concentration of pineapple peel juice against Paramphistomum sp. in vitro. Adults Paramphistomum sp. were divided into 5 test groups, the control group contained Albendazole 10% w/v, the nontreatment group contained NaCl 0.9% w/v and the treatment group contained pineapple peel juice with concentration of 12.5, 20, and 25% w/v. The number of live flukes and the motility scores were recorded every 15 minutes for 5 hours of incubation. The Survival Index (SI) and Relative Motility (RM) of flukes were calculated and statically analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. SI values of flukes in the 12.5, 20, and 25% w/v concentration of treatment group were 46.3, 50.0, and 38.9% respectively. RM values of flukes in the 12.5, 20 and 25% w/v concentration of treatment groups were 39.1, 42.0, and 34.1 respectively. RM values of flukes in the 12.5, 20 and 25% w/v concentration of treatment groups were 39.1359, 42.0249, and 34.1174 respectively. This research showed that, pineapple peel juice 25% w/v was effective against Paramphistomum sp. with survival index and relative motility values comparable to Albendazole 10% w/v (p <0.05).

Unsweetened natural cocoa (UNCP) was evaluated for reproductive toxicity in rats. A preliminary genotoxic potential was evaluated by the DNA comet assay test using C57Bl/6 mice. Both therapeutic dose (TD; 900 mg/kg) and high dose (HD; 9000 mg/kg) of UNCP were used. White Wistar rats were used in two experimental groups. The females received UNCP 15 days before crossing with untreated males. The males received UNCP for 48 days before mating with untreated females. Subacute toxicity was observed during a 14-day oral administration of UNCP. Results show that a high tail DNA% was observed with methyl mesylate administration in all tissues analysed. The lowest tail DNA% value was observed in the liver (1.64 ± 0.26) and kidney (1.63 ± 0.30) during UNCP (TD) administration. UNCP did not induce observable physical congenital malformations on the pubs of treated female and male rats, lacks genotoxic potential, and did not adversely affect pregnancy index, pub weights, and survival index, but UNCP exhibited proimplantation potential ( p > 0.05 ).

Canola (Brassica napus L. var oleifera) is a potential crop due to the growing world demand for vegetable oil. This work aims to evaluate the performance of five canola hybrids in three sowing dates in Jataí-GO. The experiment was conducted in the year of 2017, in a randomized block design, with subdivided plots and four replications. Plots were composed by three sowing dates (03/03, 03/10 and 03/17) and subplots by the canola hybrids Hyola 50, Hyola 61, Hyola 433, Hyola 571CL and Hyola 575CL. Seedling emergence, inicial and final plant population, flowering, maturation, plant height, plant survival index and grain yield were evaluated. The thermal sum calculation was performed with the phenological data. Results were submitted to analysis of variance and means were compared by Scott Knott test at 5% of probability. The plants survival index highlighted Hyola 433, Hyola 571CL and Hyola 575CL hybrids. Grain yield varied according to hybrid and sowing date. In the edaphoclimatic conditions of this study, in the year of 2017, the best agronomic performance was observed in the first sowing date for the canola hybrids Hyola 433 and Hyola 575CL and in the second sowing date for the canola hybrid Hyola 571CL.

Research has sought new technologies aimed at establishing more productive forests. Hidroretentor gel that has the function of increasing the availability of water to the plant, in the most critical stage of establishment of the cuttings in the field. The objective of this study was to evaluate increasing levels of water retention gel applied in pre-irrigation, moments before planting, observing the survival index, and the morphological variables for the hybrid Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla-03, in Chapadinha-MA. The experiment was a randomized block with seven treatments and three replicates. The treatments consisted of five increasing doses of 1.0; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0 and 5.0 g 5 L-1 gel solution per liters of pre-irrigation, a treatment without the use of the gel; and a conventional planting treatment. The use of pre-irrigation with hidroretentores polymers, known as hidroretentor gel at a concentration of 4 and 5g 5L-1, provides a greater height, stem diameter, increasing the growth of eucalyptus plants in post-planting. The depth of the root system did not improve when a higher dose of gel was used, obtaining lower values than those obtained by the treatment without the use of the hidroretentor gel.

ABSTRACT Alveolar macrophages (AMs) are an essential part of defense mechanisms within the lungs and their phagocytic activity is important for organ homeostasis. The phagocytic ability of AMs obtained from bronchoalveolar lavage from 17 mature mixed-breed pleasure horses (8 healthy and 9 diagnosed with mild equine asthma) was studied through assays with Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis promastigotes, which enabled the calculation of a phagocytic index (PI) and a survival index (SI). Results indicate that phagocytic activity of AMs in asthma affected horses is similar to healthy horses, while leishmanicidal activity is significantly increased in horses with asthma.

This paper aims to develop a new pricing approach for longevity bonds under the uncertainty theory framework. First, we describe the life expectancy by a canonical uncertain process and illustrate the dynamic of short interest rate via an uncertain Vasicek interest rate model. Then, based on these descriptions, we construct an uncertain survival index model and present its procedure for parameter estimation. By applying the chain rule, we derive a pricing formula of the uncertain zero-coupon bond. Considering that the financial market is incomplete, we put forward an uncertain distortion operator. Furthermore, based on the uncertain survival index, the uncertain zero-coupon bond pricing formula and the uncertain distortion operator, we develop a pricing formula of the uncertain longevity bond and its calculation algorithm. Finally, a numerical example is shown to illustrate the influence of parameters on the price of the uncertain longevity bond.
