In order to overcome the problems of low security and high message delay in traditional counseling systems, this article designs and proposes a new counseling system based on the weighted hybrid algorithm. According to the principle of system design, the system architecture diagram and system role are designed. In the hardware part of the system, the user management module, online consultation module, and knowledge base module are designed to realize the psychological consultation function of the system. In the software part, the weighted hybrid algorithm is used to divide the psychological information state of the consultants effectively. Combined with the hardware and software of the system, the overall design of the system is completed. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional consulting system, the designed system can effectively ensure the information security of consultants and reduce the message delay of the system, which has higher practical application value.

Total sample was equally divided into three groups. Two groups were experimental (PEP & TPT) and one was control group. Results of One-Way ANOVA revealed that positive energy psychotherapeutic intervention was more effective in enhancing positive mental health as compared to traditional psychotherapeutic intervention.

Psychologists are increasingly represented among interprofessional health care teams, yet little is known about counseling psychologists who fulfill these roles. We interviewed 13 early career counseling psychologists in different settings across the country about their roles and functions, the nature of their relationships with other health professionals, and counseling psychology identity and values. Results showed that counseling psychologists perform a variety of duties by adapting their counseling psychology training to medical settings, and that they find this work both challenging and rewarding. Participants incorporated traditional counseling psychology pillars of prevention, diversity, social justice, and strength-based interventions to make contributions to patient and community care in integrated health care settings. Implications for training and future research are discussed.

Background: A significant number of women continue to smoke tobacco during pregnancy despite the increased risk of complications to fetal and infant development. Therefore, effective interventions are needed to assist pregnant women with the process of tobacco cessation. Traditional counseling programs have demonstrated some success; however, novel approaches that target stressas a mechanism in the maintenance of addiction would be valuable. Objective: To examine the role of stress in addiction and the utility of massage therapy to decrease stress during pregnancy. Conclusion: Preliminary evidence suggests massage therapy may be beneficial to decreasing tobacco use, and research in pregnant populations is needed.

Telerehabilitation has emerged as a promising option for vocational rehabilitation to address barriers with consumers. Pilot programs like the one described here are being used to remotely train counselors and serve consumers by providing treatment and support through technology. This program delivers training and service through an online portal that allows consumers specific options tailored to individual needs. Counselors have been trained in 43 states via webcasts, videoconferencing, and in-person trainings. Telerehabilitation can enhance employment outcomes by improving access for consumers, strengthening the counselor-consumer relationship, and increasing contacts with consumers. Counselors can also augment traditional services and increase engagement without increasing travel time and associated costs. Consumers are able to take a more active role in the vocational rehabilitation process, have a better understanding of VR services, increase their knowledge about what to expect of VR services, and be more accountable and involved in the progress and outcomes of VR services.

Objective. Early childhood development (ECD) programs have demonstrated drastic improvements in survival, growth, health, and social productivity. An ECD pilot intervention was delivered to vulnerable populations of a Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) clinic in Des Moines, Iowa, to assess ECD outcomes and parental receivability in this setting. Study Design. In a randomized, single blinded control initiative, WIC group sessions of mothers (children aged 2 years and younger) were selected for pilot ECD intervention (37 participants) or control (36). Care for Child Development ECD course material was supplemented to intervention groups. Survey results were assessed with paired samples T-testing and by an ANOVA. Results. Pilot session receivability demonstrated significance in all areas relative to control: enjoyment, p=0.008; learning capacity, p=0.011; and participant sharing, p=0.023. Furthermore, the previously validated ECD intervention demonstrated significantly improved cumulative 1 month behavior outcomes following the intervention: p=0.006. Conclusions. The WIC setting provides an ideal environment for delivering ECD education beyond traditional counseling in nutrition. High receivability indices among parents demonstrate remarkable capacity for improvement and growth. The significance in receivability, as well as 1 month behavior outcomes, represents parents’ overall readiness to enhance the home environment for their child if merely educated how.
