Abstract. In order to leverage and profit from unlabelled data, semi-supervised frameworks for semantic segmentation based on consistency training have been proven to be powerful tools to significantly improve the performance of purely supervised segmentation learning. However, the consensus principle behind consistency training has at least one drawback, which we identify in this paper: imbalanced label distributions within the data. To overcome the limitations of standard consistency training, we propose a novel semi-supervised framework for semantic segmentation, introducing additional losses based on prior knowledge. Specifically, we propose a lightweight architecture consisting of a shared encoder and a main decoder, which is trained in a supervised manner. An auxiliary decoder is added as additional branch in order to make use of unlabelled data based on consensus training, and we add additional constraints derived from prior information on the class distribution and on auto-encoder regularisation. Experiments performed on our concrete aggregate dataset presented in this paper demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, outperforming the segmentation results achieved by purely supervised segmentation and standard consistency training.

Both Hippo signaling pathways and cell polarity regulation are critical for cell proliferation and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis, despite the well-established connections between cell polarity disruption and Hippo inactivation, the molecular mechanism by which aberrant cell polarity induces Hippo-mediated overgrowth remains underexplored. Here we use Drosophila wing discs as a model and identify the Wnd-Nmo axis as an important molecular link that bridges loss-of-cell polarity-triggered Hippo inactivation and overgrowth. We show that Wallenda (Wnd), a MAPKKK (mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase) family member, is a novel regulator of Hippo pathways in Drosophila and that overexpression of Wnd promotes growth via Nemo (Nmo)- mediated Hippo pathway inactivation. We further demonstrate that both Wnd and Nmo are required for loss-of-cell polarity-induced overgrowth and Hippo inactivation. In summary, our findings provide a novel insight on how cell polarity loss contributes to overgrowth and uncover the Wnd-Nmo axis as an essential additional branch that regulates Hippo pathways in Drosophila.

To tackle the individual differences and characterize the dynamic relationships among different EEG regions for EEG emotion recognition, in this paper, we propose a novel instance-adaptive graph method (IAG), which employs a more flexible way to construct graphic connections so as to present different graphic representations determined by different input instances. To fit the different EEG pattern, we employ an additional branch to characterize the intrinsic dynamic relationships between different EEG channels. To give a more precise graphic representation, we design the multi-level and multi-graph convolutional operation and the graph coarsening. Furthermore, we present a type of sparse graphic representation to extract more discriminative features. Experiments on two widely-used EEG emotion recognition datasets are conducted to evaluate the proposed model and the experimental results show that our method achieves the state-of-the-art performance.

In this work, we effectuated the numerical simulations of the phase dynamics of an array of Josephson junctions taking into account the capacitive coupling between the neighboring junctions and the diffusion current in the stack. We observed that, if we increase the coupling and the dissipation parameters, the IV characteristic changes qualitatively from the IV characteristics studied before. For currents greater than the critical one, we obtained an additional branch in the IV characteristics. This branch is characterized by a lower voltage than the outermost one. Moreover, we obtained an additional charging of the superconducting layers in the IV region for currents greater than the critical one. We studied the time evolution of this charging by the means of Fast Fourier Transform. We proved that the charge density wave associated with this charging has a complex spectral structure. In addition, we analyzed the behavior of the system for different boundary conditions, appropriate to different experimental setups.

The first chapter introduces the history of the Whampoa Military Academy by relaying how it began, the intentions behind its foundation, and how cadets were taught civic education. Xu notes how the academy regularly delved into cadets’ personal lives by reading their correspondence and eavesdropping on conversations. Xu continues by examining the speeches and lectures to the cadets of the academy as well as the commandant Chiang Kai-shek’s efforts to build additional branch campuses during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Much of Chiang’s efforts to increase morale within the cadets’ ranks celebrated physical sacrifice as heroic and dutiful, therefore, corroborating in the creation of a specific soldier figure during this time. The memoirs of Whampoa graduates reveal that Chiang’s intentions were not fully achieved since the discourse of the soldier figure constructed by Chiang was confronted or resisted by some Whampoa cadets and provincial warlords

AbstractVariations in the distribution of the lateral cord and its branches in the infraclavicular part of the brachial plexus are common and significant to the neurologists, surgeons, anaesthetists and the anatomists [1]. The present case describes a rare variation of the lateral pectoral nerve giving an additional branch to supply biceps brachii muscle and ends by joining inferior collateral branch of brachial artery. Also it was observed that the musculo cutaneous nerve received communicating branches from the median nerve before and after piercing the coracobrachialismuscle. The above observations were observed during routine dissection of a 55 year old Indian male cadaver. The musculocutaneous nerve, lateral pectoral nerve and its branches were identified and protected. The clinical importance of the variation is discussed.

Abstract Introduction: During the development, 7th cervical intersegmental artery would lead to the axis artery. Axis artery is the major artery from which all other branches of the upper limb arteries arise. Materials and Methods: In the present case, variation in the branching pattern of the axis artery of upper limb was observed in an adult male cadaver. Results: There was an additional branch arising from the brachial artery and it was running in the forearm. As usual, the brachial artery bifurcated into ulnar and radial arteries. Conclusions: The knowledge of variations reported here is important to the operating surgeons and radiologists.

This paper proposes a multiband antenna for LTE/GSM/UMTS band operation. The proposed antenna consists of a meandered planar inverted-F antenna with an additional branch line for wide bandwidth and a folded-loop antenna. The antenna provides a wide bandwidth to cover the hepta-band LTE/GSM/UMTS operation. The measured 6 dB return loss bandwidth is 169 MHz (793–962 MHz) at the low-frequency band and 1030 MHz (1700–2730 MHz) at the high-frequency band. The overall dimension of the proposed antenna is 55 mm × 110 mm × 5 mm.
