Four perspectives on numerical origins are examined. The nativist model sees numbers as an aspect of numerosity, the biologically endowed ability to appreciate quantity that humans share with other species. The linguistic model sees numbers as a function of language. The embodied model sees numbers as conceptual metaphors informed by physical experience and expressed in language. Finally, the extended model sees numbers as conceptual outcomes of a cognitive system that includes material forms as constitutive components. If numerical origins are to be found, each perspective must address one or more critical questions that will require working across discipline boundaries.

This study extends an existing cross-linguistic model of verb-marking error in children’s early multi-word speech (MOSAIC) by adding a novel mechanism that defaults to the most frequent form of the verb where this accounts for a high proportion of forms in the input. Our simulations show that the resulting dual-factor model not only provides a better explanation of the data on typically developing (TD) children, but also captures the cross-linguistic pattern of verb-marking error in children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), including the tendency of English-speaking children to show higher rates of Optional Infinitive (OI) errors and the tendency of Dutch-, German- and Spanish-speaking children to show higher rates of agreement errors. The new version of MOSAIC thus provides a unified cross-linguistic model of the pattern of verb-marking error in TD children and children with DLD.

The article deals with the principles of compiling the “German-Ukrainian Dictionary of Terminology of Life Safety” and selection pecularities of the lexical material such as the principles of compliance with the goals and objectives of learning, frequency, word-forming value of the term, associative value, subjectivity and semantics. Compilation of the dictionary involves many stages: analysis of existing dictionaries, research of the needs of the addressee, determination of requirements and future characteristics of the dictionary, development of its macro- and microstructure, collection of lexical material, design of dictionary articles, selection of translation equivalents, ordering of the dictionary in accordance with the developed structure, editing, checking the compliance of the received product with the set goals. The author offers the most productive and speed methods of compiling a dictionary with the help of BootCat generation program and Morphy program of paradigms synthesis, which allowed to single out 20,000 terms of the professional language of life safety in the shortest time and find their Ukrainian equivalents. The generation of a body of texts is carried out with S. Sharoff’s method, which provides the search for professional texts with the help of randomly combined four basic terms. This ensures the organization of a homogeneous selection of thematically related texts from the Internet (manuals, reference books, scientific articles, newspaper reports, instructions, sights, abstracts and annotations of articles, etc.). The obtained texts are processed with the help of the Morphy paradigm synthesis program, which automatically assigns all possible grammatical categories to each word in the sentence, and compiles the initial list of terminological dictionary. The next task is to provide equivalent words in the language of translation, able to accurately convey the semantics of the register word. Consequently, in the hands of the user of the dictionary, there is a certain linguistic model of the German professional language of life safety in its equivalent reproduction in the Ukrainian language. The presence of such an initial model will allow the user to perceive adequately scientific texts and, thus, successfully expand their scientific and conceptual apparatus in the future. To make a comprehensive literature review and identify the development trends, this study maps the intellectual structure of the research information management based on co-keyword analysis, the 2-tuple linguistic technique, and social network analysis. This study reveals the intellectual structure by analyzing the topological structure, conceptual structure, and strategic diagram. From the perspective of topological structure, the research of the information management field can be divided into three layers including the nucleus layer, middle layer, and marginal layer. In terms of the conceptual structure, the research of information management can be divided into four sub-fields including health information management, information systems, information technology, and information management application. The four subfields can be repartitioned into seven clusters by using a 2-tuple linguistic model, which means that the 2-tuple linguistic model can improve co-keyword analysis.

A social media adoption is important to provide content authenticity and awareness for the unknown news that might be fake. Therefore, a Natural Language Processing (NLP) model is required to identify the content properties for language-driven feature generation. The present research work utilizes language-driven features that extract the grammatical, sentimental, syntactic, readable features. The feature from the particular news content is extracted to deal with the dimensional problem as the language level features are quite complex. Thus, the Dropout layer-based Long Short Term Network Model (LSTM) for sequential learning achieved better results during fake news detection. The results obtained validate the important features extracted linguistic model features and are combined to achieve better classification accuracy. The proposed Drop out based LSTM model obtained accuracy of 95.3% for fake news classification and detection when compared to the sequential neural model for fake news detection.

Abstract J. R. Martin is a leading scholar who has greatly developed the theoretical framework of systemic functional linguistics (SFL) over the past four decades. Some of these contributions, such as the systems of discourse semantics, the appraisal framework and genre relations have been widely applied in various areas of linguistic studies and language education. The educational linguistic model he and his colleagues have cultivated and developed has attracted the attention of more and more educators from different disciplines around the globe. In this interview, he firstly elaborates on the significance of the concepts of discourse semantics, grammatical metaphor and genre. Then he continues with applications of genre theory in secondary school education, language maintenance, the relation and collaboration between Legitimation Code Theory (LCT) and SFL, and how the two paradigms complement each other. Finally, he introduces some of his recent collaborations with grammarians of different languages.

The article deals with the problem of disproportion in morpheme units of linguistics and patterns. Based on the disproportion, information is given on the combined affixes formed in the morphemes, the expanded forms, and the analytic and synthetic forms. The data is based on the opinions of the world's leading linguists. The ideas are proven using examples. The formation of a particular linguistic model is a disproportion in the language system (meaning-function-methodological features): confusion of meanings, multifunctionality, semantics, competition in the use of forms (one form has more and more privileges, archaic nation of another form).
