Laboratory information is an important tool for determining indications for preventive measures and evaluating their effectiveness in healthy individuals. In the instructions for some test-systems for IgG to measles virus, the results of the study are interpreted on the basis of analytical characteristics of the reagents and have no connection with the determination of this indicator in the reference group. At the moment, there is no document setting the protective level of anti-measles Ig G. The aim of the study is to establish reference values of IgG to measles virus by immunoenzyme analysis for health care professionals. The reference group was formed of 299 people and divided into two subgroups: older and under 44 years of age. Reference intervals were calculated according to the CLSI C 28-A3 protocol. The set reference intervals were different from the manufacturer’s stated values. The question arises as to whether the values established by the manufacturer, based on the analytical characteristics of a particular test system, should be used when identifying risk groups of persons with a low level of immunity.

Aim. To study the influence of the state of endothelium on the daily profile of arterial pressure (AP) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Materials and methods. In 70 RA pts carried out C-reactive protein (CRP), vascular endothelial adhesion molecule type 1 (sVCAM-1), antigen von Willebrand Factor (AG WF), interleukin-8 (Il-8), rheumatoid factor (RF), IgG, endotheline-1 (ET-1), number of desquamated endotheliocytes cells (DE), VS, activity of renin by immunoenzyme analysis. The dysfunction of endothelium was evaluated by calculation of DE. The functional methods included the daily monitoring of arterial pressure (AP). Results. Arterial hypertension (AH) occurred in 40 (57.1%) pts. RA pts are revealed the signs of endothelial dysfunction, about which significant differences among the indices of activation of endothelium in comparison with control group testify. ET-1, sVCAM-1, vWF AG, Il-8, CRP content was higher in RA pts. Reliably above there was a number of DE. Reliable differences according to these indices depending of RA activity were discovered. With conducting of correlation analysis it is revealed, that markers of the activation of endothelium: sVCAM-1, vWF AG positively correlated with increasing RF IgG and indices of the immune inflammation: CRP, and DE number. In patients suffering from RA, showed signs of endothelial dysfunction. The positive correlation between endothelial damage and daily profile of AP show the relationship of these processes. Conclusion. Positive correlations between the damage of endothelium and disturbance of AP daily profile testify about the interrelation of these processes.

Aim. Evaluation of the influence of synthesized gluconates of 3d-metals on production of cytokines in blood serum of mice with experimental immunodeficiency. Materials and Methods. The effect of complex compounds of bivalent 3d-metals (Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn) with glucuronic acid on production of cytokines: interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in blood serum of mice with experimental immunodeficiency induced by a single intraperitoneal administration of cyclophosphamide at the dose of 50 mg/kg was studied. 3d-Metal gluconates (10-2mol/l) were orally introduced for comparison with immunostimulatory drug «Licopid®» and calcium gluconate (doses were calculated according to the instructions) daily for two weeks, starting from the second day after the injection of cyclophosphamide. Levels of cytokines were determined by immunoenzyme analysis. Results. On the 16th day after the induction of immunodeficiency, levels of cytokines in blood serum of mice decreased: IL-1β – by 75.0%, IL-6 – by 65.2%, IFN-γ – by 61.6%, TNF-α –by 55.6% (p<0.05). Stimulatory effect of gluconates of 3d-metals on synthesis of cytokines depended on the used metal: the effect of MnGl, FeGl, CoGl, CuGl was lower than of licopid. ZnGl produced a weaker effect than licopid only on synthesis of IL-6, and equal effect on secretion of IL-1β and IFN-γ, and the highest effect on TNF-α (p<0.05 for all comparisons). Calcium gluconate did not produce any significant effect on the content of cytokines. Conclusion. The obtained results show a significant role of 3d-metals in maintenance of immune homeostasis, which, taking into account the literature data, may be explained by their action through activation of the nuclear transcription factor NF-κB which controls expression of cytokines.

Actuality of the study. Ovarian insufficiency is present in more that 30% of reproductive age women. The role of leptine and insuin resistance in the pathogenesis of ovarian insufficiency is not yet established and has to be clarified. The aim of the study to investigate the role of hyperleptinemia, insulin resistance and hyperestrogenemia in the pathogenesis of ovarian insufficiency in obesity.Materials and methods. Fifty reproductive age women with BMI > 25,6 kg/m2 were studied. Ten healthy reproductive age women were included as controls. The plasma level of leprin, honadotropins, prolactin, insulin and sex steroid hormones assayed by immunoenzyme analysis, morning fasting blood glucose and the glucose level after glucose tolerance test, pelvic echography, “whole body” program of dual x-ray absorptiometry were studied in both patients and controls.Results. Thirty-six out of 50 women had signs of ovarian insufficiency. The presence and severity of ovarian insufficiency did not correlate with the level of leptin in blood or with insulin resistance. The positive correlation between oestradiol level and both presence and severity of ovarian insufficiency could be demonstrated.Conclusion. The results of our study do not support the hyperleptinemia and insulin resistance as the main cause of ovarian insufficiency in alimentary obesity. The most potential reason of anovulation in these women could be hyperoestrogenia due to increased conversion of androgens into oestrogenes in fat tissues and ovaria.

Depression and anxiety were examined by Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and Spilberger Scale in 217 multiple sclerosis patients treated by Betaferon. The concentration of blood serotonin was determined by immunoenzyme analysis in 71 of them. The multiple sclerosis patients had progressive high levels of depression ((7,55 ± 3,61) points; р = 0,000) and anxiety ((7,55 ± 3,61) points; р = 0,000), and the decreased blood serotonin concentration ((210 ± 134,2) versus (269 ± 98,8) ng/ml; р = 0,036 in healthy people). The level of anxiety was related to the level of serotonin depression. Betaferon did not correct the affective disorders in multiple sclerosis patients, except the decreasing the degree of anxiety, and did not normalize the level of blood serotonin, that suggest the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors during immunomodulating therapy.

The level of autoantibody (AAB) to collagen was studied in serum of patients with degenerative dystrophic hip joint diseases: deforming coxarthrosis of I, II, III degree, aseptic necrosis of femur head of III, IV degree and cystic remodeling of articular ends of II, III degree. In 123 patients level of AAB to general determinants of collagens was detected using reaction of passive hemagglutination. In 24% of patients high diagnostically significant of AAB titers to collagen were determined. Correlation of AAB level and general determinants of various collagen types as well as the type of articular pathology were studied. In 62 patients AAB level to collagen of I, II, III and IV types was detected using solid phase immunoenzyme analysis. High level of AAB to collagen of I, II types was shown. In patients with aseptic necrosis reliable increase of AAB level to collagen of I (osseous) type and marked tendency to the increase of AAB level to collagen of II (cartilagenous) type was detected. In patients with cystic remodeling reliable increase of AAB level to collagen of II type and tendency to the increase of AAB level to collagen of I type was observed. Strong correlation between AAB level to collagen of II type and clinical manifestations of pathology was determined.

Validity of the immunoenzyme analysis is studied in 273 patients, being ill with tuberculosis for the first time (the 1st group), 75 patients with acute condition and relapse of tuberculosis (the 2d group), 144 patients with inspecific pulmonary diseases (the 3d group) and 40 healthy persons (the control group). The specific antibodies are revealed in 50,5%, 66,7%, 28,5% and 7,5% of the cases in the groups observed, respectively. The largest number of antibodies in patients of the 1st and 2d groups is observed in fibrocavernous tuberculosis 75% and 91,5%, respectively and in the patients of the 2-rd group in disseminated tuberculosis 75%. The incidence of their revealing in patients of the 2-rd group with bacteriodischarge especially with massive is higher than in patients of the 1st group with similar tuberculosis parameters (67,6% and 78%, 51,5% and 56,6%, respectively). Similar tendency is found in destructive changes in lungs. The incidence of revealing antibodies in the immunoenzyme analysis is 79,3% in patients of the 2-rd group with decay cavities and 56,2% in patients of the 1st group.
