The characteristics of thermooxidative degradation of the samples of cured epoxy acrylates based on epoxy resins ED-20 and UP-637, as well as their compositions with oligoether acrylate TGM-3, were investigated by the method of simultaneous thermal analysis. It has been found that the photopolymers have a sufficiently high resistance to thermal oxidation, the start temperature of active thermal destruction exceeds 325 ° C. Differences in the chemical structure of the aromatic fragment determine the features of thermal resistance. The addition of an active diluent to the composition is capable to reduce the internal stresses of the polymer structure and to promote a shift in the onset of thermal oxidation to higher temperatures.

The main physical-mechanical and thermophysical characteristics of composite materials based on epoxy resin ED-20 and peroxide resin ED-20P (modified with tert-butyl hydroperoxide ED-20 of a molecular weight 480) in the ratio of 30 mass parts of ED-20P to 70 mass parts of ED- 20 and unsaturated oligoester TGM-3 were researched. Butyl methacrylate was used as the active diluent of epoxy-oligoester mixtures. The polyethylene polyamine was used as hardener in a steochemical ratio. For the comparison we studied compositions which did not contain ED-20P resin. The advantage of compositions included ED-20P modified resin has been shown.

A series of fluorine-containing polyacrylic epoxy (FPAE) prepolymers with different fluorine content and molecular weight are synthesized by solution free radical polymerization of hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFBMA), butyl acrylate (BA), and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA). The synthesized prepolymers show high conversion and low volume shrinkage. The effect of different types of active diluent for the cationic UV curing of FPAE was investigated, among which oxetane exhibits better comprehensive property than epoxy and vinyl ether. The formulations with the optimal ratio of different functionality oxetane combination show good flexibility, adhesion, hydrophobicity, and antistain property.

Abstract The synthesis and characterization of luminescent hybrid composites based on bisphenol A glycerolate (1 glycerol/phenol) diacrylate (BPA-Acr) as a cross-linking monomer and N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) as an active diluent, in the presence of UV initiator (Irgacure 651), are presented. Eu(III) and Tb(III) carboxylate complexes were added as luminescent components of composites. In their preparation, a constant concentration of the initiator (1%) and the BPA-Acr to NVP (10:3) ratio were applied. The structures of the obtained materials were confirmed by the infrared spectra (ATR-FTIR). Thermal properties of the cross-linked products were determined by different thermal analysis methods in air and nitrogen (TG–DTG–DSC and TG–FTIR). Thermal stability, pathways of thermal decomposition and volatile products of degradation were determined. Photoluminescence properties of the lanthanide complexes and the obtained composites were established. These materials can have the potential application as coatings filtering harmful UV radiation.

In this work, Taguchi design (orthogonal array, OA9) was used for the adhesion investigation of an epoxy insulator to a double base (DB) propellant grain. In this manner three epoxy resins based on diglycidylether bisphenol A (DGEBA) and three polyamine curing agents with an active diluent based on DGEBA were used. Therefore, the effects of resin type, curing agent type with its amount and diluent quantity as main factors were investigated on the single lap shear strength (adhesion strength) and then the results were quantitatively evaluated by the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The data given of ANOVA predicted that the best adhesion strength of 15.584 ± 1.606 MPa was obtained for the optimum conditions of MANA POX-102 as epoxy resin, H-37 as curing agent with 57 phr, ERYSYS GE-30 as diluent with 5 phr. In comparison, practical result of adhesion strength obtained for the optimum conditions was 15.4 ± 0.2 MPa. Also the Pull-off test results on the surface of the DB propellant showed that the maximum adhesion strength (related to the optimal conditions) is 2.64 ± 0.2 MPa.

A series of UV-PUA films with different active diluents were prepared, The effect of the content of active diluent TPGDA or TMPTA on Photopolymerization kinetics and Mechanical properties was studied. The effect of formulation on mechanical properties was investigated. The results showed that when the content of oligomer PUA was 40%-45%, the content of HEA was 8%-10%, the content of TPGDA was 10%-14% and the content of TMPTA was 18%-25% ,PUA films with good mechanical properties were obtained.
