Multistage tests are a widely used and efficient type of test presentation that aims to provide accurate ability estimates while keeping the test relatively short. Multistage tests typically rely on the psychometric framework of item response theory. Violations of item response models and other assumptions underlying a multistage test, such as differential item functioning, can lead to inaccurate ability estimates and unfair measurements. There is a practical need for methods to detect problematic model violations to avoid these issues. This study compares and evaluates three methods for the detection of differential item functioning with regard to continuous person covariates in data from multistage tests: a linear logistic regression test and two adaptations of a recently proposed score-based DIF test. While all tests show a satisfactory Type I error rate, the score-based tests show greater power against three types of DIF effects.

People with Disability are having limited access to participation. The most significant barrier for people with disabilities to participate is stigma. However, there is a limited source of existing intervention to reduce stigma on people with disabilities. Indonesia, home of more than 20 million people with disabilities, is still having no effort in reducing stigma yet. Therefore, it is important to provide Indonesia with insight of interventions to reduce stigma on people with disabilities. The objective of the study was to provide insight of interventions to reduce stigma on people with disabilities around the world through a systematic review. The study employed a systematic review following the methodological framework provided by Prisma multistep using electronic databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest), reference lists, and journals to locate studies. Inclusion criteria were based on title and content through keyword search with stigma, disability, and intervention as its keyword. The study revealed that from 449 articles that are found online, only 17 are eligible with the inclusion criteria. Most of the interventions are targeting to reduce stigma from the general population towards people with disabilities. Mental disability is the most type of disability addressed by the intervention. The study concluded that education intervention has proven to be the most effective and efficient type of intervention in reducing stigma toward people with disabilities. Especially in Indonesia, a fourth most populous country, increasing impact area by targeting the general population can be seen as the most efficient way in reducing stigma.

A microbial desalination cell (MDC) is a new approach to bioelectrochemical systems. It provides a more sustainable way to electrical power production, saltwater desalination, and wastewater treatment at the same time. This study examined three operation modes of the MDC: chemical cathode, air cathode, and biocathode MDC, to give clear sight of this system's performance. The experimental work results for these three modes were recorded as power densities generation, saltwater desalination rates, and COD removal percentages. For the chemical cathode MDC, the power density was 96.8 mW/m2, the desalination rate was 84.08 ppm/hr, and the COD removal percentage was 95.94%. The air cathode MDC results were different; the power density was 24.2 mW/m2, the desalination rate was 86.11 ppm/hr, and the COD removal percentage was 91.38%. The biocathode MDC results were 19.91 mW/m2 as the power density, 88.9 ppm/hr as the desalination rate, and 96.94% as the COD removal percentage. The most efficient type of MDC in this study in power production was the chemical cathode MDC, but it is the lowest sustainable. On the other hand,  the biocathode MDC was the best in desalination process performance, and both the air cathode and biocathode MDC are more sustainable and environmentally friendly, especially the biocathode MDC.

The peculiarities of a reading at out-of-school hours «defense of a reader’s diary» lesson in the primary school are being considered in the given article on the material of some folk and literary fairy-tales by Sh. Perrault, brothers Grimm, H. Ch. Andersen. A lesson-defense of a reader’s diary is a lesson, based on the work in small groups. It is constructed by means of a self-questioning method according to the material of the fairy-tales, which have been read, and by means of the assessment of other students’ work. A lesson-defense of the reader’s diary is an extremely interesting and efficient type of work, aimed at the development of critical thinking, children’s creative imagination, forming their independent and conscious reading. In advance (a month earlier) the students are given a task, for example, to read some Ukrainian folk fairy-tales of the fairy-tales by Sh. Perrault, brothers Grimm, H. Ch. Andersen and to fill in independently the following columns of a reader’s diary: 1) a column «Author»; 2) a column «Title of the work {a collection, a fairy-tale}; 3) a column «Characters of the fairy-tale»; 4) a column «Questions to the text»; 5) a column «Tricky» questions. The questions to the text presuppose three levels: The questions of the first level begin with the words: Who? What? Where? When? How? Which? These are the questions, aimed at giving some information about who the main character is, where the action is taking place, when the action is taking place. The questions of the second level are aimed at the causal relationships and that is why they begin with the word: Why? The questions of the third level are aimed at clarification of the meaning of the words and expressions, which are difficult for understanding. Forming «tricky questions» is a creative task for the primary school students. «Tricky» questions are the questions aimed at prognostication of the character’s further fate or the further possible development of the events of the fairy-tale’s plot. The readers can create some interesting and wise «tricky» questions, if they compare the logics of a fairy-tale and the logics of the real life. In the process of work at the reader’s diary and its defense the students can consciously and deeply comprehend the content of a tale, think over the fairy tale’s logics, compare it with the real life logics. That would form their attention and instill love to the magic world and word of a fairy-tale.
