Abstract The global spread of Covid-19 has caused major economic disruptions. Governments around the world provide considerable financial support to mitigate the economic downturn. However, effective policy responses require reliable data on the economic consequences of the corona pandemic. We propose the CoRisk-Index: a real-time economic indicator of Covid-19 related risk assessments by industry. Using data mining, we analyse all reports from US companies filed since January 2020, representing more than a third of all US employees. We construct two measures - the number of 'corona' words in each report and the average text negativity of the sentences mentioning corona in each industry - that are aggregated in the CoRisk-Index. The index correlates with U.S. unemployment data and preempts stock market losses of February 2020. Moreover, thanks to topic modelling and natural language processing techniques, the CoRisk data provides unique granularity with regards to the particular contexts of the crisis and the concerns of individual industries about them. The data presented here help researchers and decision makers to measure, the previously unobserved, risk awareness of industries with regard to Covid-19, bridging the quantification gap between highly volatile stock market dynamics and long-term macro-economic figures. For immediate access to the data, we provide all findings and raw data on an interactive online dashboard in real time.

Objectives. To project the range of excess deaths potentially associated with COVID-19–related unemployment in the United States and quantify inequities in these estimates by age, race/ethnicity, gender, and education. Methods. We used previously published meta-analyzed hazard ratios (HRs) for the unemployment–mortality association, unemployment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and mortality data from the National Center for Health Statistics to estimate 1-year age-standardized deaths attributable to COVID-19–related unemployment for US workers aged 25 to 64 years. To accommodate uncertainty, we tested ranges of unemployment and HR scenarios. Results. Our best estimate is that there will be 30 231 excess deaths attributable to COVID-19–related unemployment between April 2020 and March 2021. Across scenarios, attributable deaths ranged from 8315 to 201 968. Attributable deaths were disproportionately high among Blacks, men, and those with low education. Conclusions. Deaths attributable to COVID-19–related unemployment will add to those directly associated with the virus and will disproportionately burden groups already experiencing incommensurate COVID-19 mortality. Public Health Implications. Supportive economic policies and interventions addressing long-standing harmful social structures are essential to mitigate the unequal health harms of COVID-19.

Someone who is said to be unemployed can also be categorized as people who have not worked, people who are looking for work, or people who have worked but have not gotten productive results. The purpose of this study is to analyze the unemployment stay by province in Indonesia. This research data is sourced from the Central Statistics Agency in 2014 - 2019. This study uses data mining techniques, namely the K-means algorithm, the K-means method is a clustering method that functions to break the dataset into groups. The K-means method can be used for percentage unemployment data by province. Data will be divided or grouped into 2 Clusters, where Cluster 1 is the group of provinces with the highest potential for unemployment with the results of 13 provinces and Cluster 2 is the province with the lowest potential unemployment results which is 21 provinces. The results of this study are as a way to assist the government in expanding employment to develop and improve the economy in each province in Indonesia. It is hoped that this research can provide input to the government. In particular, the provinces with minimal employment opportunities in Indonesia have an impact on unemployment

ABSTRACT The objective of this document is to analyze the changes in unemployment in Latin America and the Caribbean through a four-factor decomposition approach, based on information on unemployment experienced by the countries of this region, in two years 2009 and 2019. In terms of methodology, this research has a descriptive scope or level, with a non-experimental bibliographic documentary design, and under a quantitative approach. To analyze the behavior of unemployment, data was collected on the variables of interest for twenty-six countries in Latin America and the Caribbean from the Development Indicators database, whose source is the World Bank. The results found are heterogeneous in the group of countries, although the effect of variations in the unemployment rate prevails mainly in the change in the number of unemployed people. The work also identifies the role of changes in other components, such as the activity rate.   Key words: Unemployment, Latin America and the Caribbean, unemployment rate, labor market, decomposition methodology.

The basic problem of SMK graduates is that most are still looking for work in companies, because the number of SMK graduates is not comparable to the employment opportunities in companies, so many are unemployed. Unemployment is open at the level of SMK graduates is still high. The results of an analysis of the economic potential of the open unemployment data in 2015 showed that over one third or 36.78% of vocational school graduates were still unemployed. Education and training for job seekers has not been maximally organized by the Tegal City Government to encourage them to become new entrepreneurs (WUB). There are still many vocational students who have difficulty getting into state universities because of lack of achievement. The government has provided a path of achievement, the selection process focuses on academic and non-academic achievements during high school / equivalent Seeing the above problems, the introduction of IT-based Aeromodelling to Grow Entrepreneurial Soul and Achievement, can increase student interest to switch his mind to try entrepreneurship and achievement. The introduction of IT-based Aeromodelling for Growing an Entrepreneurial Soul and Achievement turned out to be able to, increase students' interest in entrepreneurship and achievement in non-academic fields.
