AbstractAeolian sand transport is a major process shaping landscapes on Earth and on diverse celestial bodies. Conditions favoring bimodal sand transport, with fine-grain saltation driving coarse-grain reptation, give rise to the evolution of megaripples with a characteristic bimodal sand composition. Here, we derive a unified phase diagram for this special aeolian process and the ensuing nonequilibrium megaripple morphodynamics by means of a conceptually simple quantitative model, grounded in the grain-scale physics. We establish a well-preserved quantitative signature of bimodal aeolian transport in the otherwise highly variable grain size distributions, namely, the log-scale width (Krumbein phi scale) of their coarse-grain peaks. A comprehensive collection of terrestrial and extraterrestrial data, covering a wide range of geographical sources and environmental conditions, supports the accuracy and robustness of this unexpected theoretical finding. It could help to resolve ambiguities in the classification of terrestrial and extraterrestrial sedimentary bedforms.

<p>This research project investigates the digital collections from selected heritage organisations, exploring how/if the rights of indigenous peoples are being protected by policy and protocol documents on the World Wide Web. It purposively surveys selected heritage collections across Australia and New Zealand and explores digital collection policies at local and national level, investigating the extent of international pressure, socio-cultural influences, and legislative constraints. This research project uses qualitative methodology in an interpretive way, using the hermeneutic circle and method for the collation for data and analysis. The major theoretical finding of this research project is that many cultural heritage organisations attempt to bridge the gap between Anglo-American development of legislation and indigenous intellectual property rights by the inclusion of specific policy measures becoming in effect socio-cultural agents for change</p>

Abstract In this work, a time-implicit discretization for stochastic linear quadratic problems subject to stochastic differential equations with control-dependence noises is proposed, and the convergence rate of this discretization is proved. Compared to the existing results, the control variables are stochastic processes and can be contained in systems’ diffusion term. Based on this discretization, a gradient descent algorithm and its convergence rate are presented. Finally, a numerical example is provided to support the theoretical finding.

Superior organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs) materials require two conventionally exclusive properties: strong luminescence and high charge mobilities. We propose a three-state model through localized diabatization to quantitative analyze excited state structures for various herringbone (HB) H-aggregates and demonstrate that for some investigated systems, the low-lying intermolecular charge-transfer (CT) state couples with the bright Frenkel exciton (FE) and forms a dipole-allowed S<sub>1</sub> that lies below the dark state, proceeding strong luminescence. Specifically, such conversion in luminescence properties occurs when the electron- and hole-transfer integrals ( and ) are of the same sign and is notably larger than the excitonic coupling (<i>J</i>), i.e., . This theoretical finding can not only explain and rationalize recent experimental results on DPA and dNaAnt, both with OLET property, but also unravel an exciting scenario where strong luminescence and high charge mobilities are compatible, which will considerably broaden the aperture of novel OLET design.

Abstract The theoretical finding of the Sanal-flow-choking [PMCID: PMC7267099] and streamtube flow choking (V.R.Sanal Kumar et al., Physics of Fluids, Vol.33, No.3, 2021, DOI: 10.1063/5.0040440) are methodological advancements in predicting the deflagration-to-detonation-transition (DDT) in the real-world-fluid flows (continuum/non-continuum) with credibility.[1,2] Herein, we provide a proof of the concept of the Sanal-flow-choking and streamtube-flow-choking causing DDT in wall-bounded and free-external flows. Once the streamlines compacted, the considerable pressure difference attains inside the streamtube and the flow gets accelerated to the constricted region for satisfying the continuity condition set by the conservation law of nature. If the shape of the streamtube in the internal/external flow is similar to the convergent-divergent (CD) duct the phenomenon of the Sanal-flow-choking and supersonic flow development occurs at a critical-total-to-static pressure ratio (CPR) in yocto to yotta scale systems and beyond, which leads to shock wave generation or detonation as the case may me. At the lower critical detonation or hemorrhage index, the CPR of the reacting flow and the critical blood-pressure-ratio (BPR) of the subjects (human being/animal) are unique functions of the heat-capacity-ratio (HCR) of the evolved gas in the CD duct (V.R.Sanal Kumar et al., Global Challenges, Wiley Publication, January 2021, DOI: 10.1002/gch2.202000076, PMCID: PMC7933821; Sanal Kumar V.R et al. In silico results are presented herein to establish the proof of the concept of the Sanal-flow-choking and streamtube-flow-choking causing shock-wave/detonation in diabatic flow systems and asymptomatic-hemorrhagic-stroke in biological systems. The physics of detonation chemistry presented herein sheds light for exploring environmental and supernova explosions.[107] In silico results reported herein provide an authentic answer to many unresolved research questions in Physics in general and aerospace, mechanical, biological, chemical, energy, environmental, nano and material sciences in particular.

Researchers admit that there will not be a quick return to “business as usual”, especially related to internationalization, the financing of studies and universities, research and administration. The enabling research question is formulated as following: What is the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and university governance? The aim of the article is to examine the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and university governance underpinning the elaboration of implications for higher education. The study was of the qualitative nature. The exploratory study was implemented. The study was carried out in Germany on the 22nd September 2020. Focus group interview served as a method of data collection. The data were interpreted via structuring and summarising content analysis. The theoretical finding is that the COVID-19 pandemic is a factor that influences the university governance. The COVID-19 pandemic is an external factor in regard to university governance. Factor impact can be regulated. Factor impact can be increased or decreased according to the situation requirements. The empirical data allow concluding that the COVID-19 pandemic fastens the changes in governing the universities in Germany. Implications for higher education are presented. Research limitations are identified. Directions of further research are proposed.

The article examines the evolution of the analysis of voters’ behavior when searching for an answer to the question: Why does the a voter vote? It is shown how the approach to the voter as a rational egoistic investor gave rise to what is commonly called the “voter’s paradox” in political and economic theory. Further search was aimed at explaining this paradox. On the one hand, the concept of an expressive voter appears, who expresses himself through participation in elections, on the other hand, we are talking about an altruistic voter who overcomes egoism. The latest theoretical finding was the explanation of participation in voting by attracting “relational goods” that differ in their qualities from both public and private goods. With this approach, the “voter’s paradox” finds the most consistent solution. And it is in this approach the shift from methodological individualism to institutional individualism is most clearly manifested. The authors of the article highlight this shift as a new trend in explaining the reasons for voting. At the same time, it is argued that the considered conceptual diversity is a reflection of the multidimensional features of human nature, and it is this fact that gives rise to the ambiguity and contradiction of experimental results.

<p style='text-indent:20px;'>We consider a class of neutral type Clifford-valued cellular neural networks with discrete delays and infinitely distributed delays. Unlike most previous studies on Clifford-valued neural networks, we assume that the self feedback connection weights of the networks are Clifford numbers rather than real numbers. In order to study the existence of <inline-formula><tex-math id="M1">\begin{document}$ (\mu, \nu) $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula>-pseudo compact almost automorphic solutions of the networks, we prove a composition theorem of <inline-formula><tex-math id="M2">\begin{document}$ (\mu, \nu) $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula>-pseudo compact almost automorphic functions with varying deviating arguments. Based on this composition theorem and the fixed point theorem, we establish the existence and the uniqueness of <inline-formula><tex-math id="M3">\begin{document}$ (\mu, \nu) $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula>-pseudo compact almost automorphic solutions of the networks. Then, we investigate the global exponential stability of the solution by employing differential inequality techniques. Finally, we give an example to illustrate our theoretical finding. Our results obtained in this paper are completely new, even when the considered networks are degenerated into real-valued, complex-valued or quaternion-valued networks.</p>
