Government housing projects are among the complex issues facing developing countries’ governments. There have been many attempts to solve problems related to this issue and a lot of effort has been made in this direction. The main problem is lowering the cost of lodging, without sacrificing its quality and the effectiveness by which it fulfills the needs of its occupants. This became possible upon the use of the value engineering technique. Value engineering is an effective tool used to solve problems related to housing, by lowering cost on one hand and sustaining or even ameliorating quality and performance. The purpose of this study is to try to identify a series of proposed solutions and value indicators and to describe their role in improving value in government housing projects. This process may assist the designer in choosing and managing, value indicators during the creative phase, using references from the literature and the analysis of case studies. The literature review identified the reasons for high costs and poor performance, which are often a result of a misunderstanding of the fundamental principles of design criteria and value indicators, followed in government housing projects. The review also pinpointed the most important considerations that improve value. Results obtained in this study feature the positive effects of methods under the umbrella of value engineering, applied in government housing projects. It was found that savings of 15% to 40% can be achieved in the total cost of a certain project, using this technique. Generating ideas in the creative phase is one of the most important stages in value engineering studies. A set of value indicators and proposed solutions in the form of a checklist were derived and can be used in the future, during the creative phase of value engineering studies in the initial design stage of government housing projects.

Based on self-determination theory, this research presents the development of a scale to assess motivation for engineering studies in a Francophone context. Three phases of data collection were conducted (N = 462, 545 and 864) for a total of 1871 engineering students (59.2% female). Results from both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses support a seven-factor structure for the scale: 1) intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivations characterised by 2) identified regulation – altruism, 3) introjected regulation – ego, 4) introjected regulation – conscience, 5) external regulation – security, 6) external regulation – social prestige and, finally, 7) amotivation. The dimensions of altruism and security are specific to engineering studies. The scale meets generally accepted criteria for reliability and verifies different types of validity evidence.

For the last 20 years, the Seville School of Engineering has been teaching Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing in its multiple degrees [2]. CATIA, standard software in the aeronautical industry in Europe, the United States and Canada, is used in the Aerospace Engineering studies [3].During the apprenticeship, students acquire skills to perform modelling and virtual recreations [5], not only oriented to their future professional activities, but also to others related to the rescue and cataloguing of the aeronautical historical heritage [6].This paper presents the modelling and virtual recreation of the biplane Ansaldo SVA 5 [7], whose starting documentation consisted of handmade plans and documents relating to the various processes of verification of the aircraft project and the modifications made.

Abstract In power engineering, studies related to the distribution of temperatures and velocities in fluids that move, for example, in pipelines or channels, are of theoretical and practical importance. The presented work displays the results of the development of an approximate analytical method for mathematical modeling of the process of heat transfer in laminar flows. By the example of solving the problem of heat transfer in a flat channel with a Couette flow, the main provisions of the method are considered. The combined use of the integral heat balance method and the collocation method made it possible to obtain an analytical solution that is simple in form. The obtained accuracy of solutions depends on the number N of points of the spatial variable at which the original differential equation is exactly satisfied.

Software engineering is the manner of making use of engineering studies and alertness packages to the design, improvement and renovation of software program. For software program builders or college students majoring in data engineering, the software program renovation manner is a totally complicated activity. Software renovation manner charges account for 40% to 80% of the whole software program engineering manner. The software program renovation manner is resulting from based programming, inadequate understanding domains, and application documentation. In this study, researchers attempted to apply the Java programming language and c / c ++ to deal with supply code truncation. After finishing this manner, this system code may be divided into code and remarks. This report could be used to gain data approximately the manner of knowledge this system from the software program renovation manner. For supply code slicing, the writer makes use of normal expressions, specifically textual content processing strategies or patterns. Using normal expressions can accelerate the manner of locating remarks to your application. The end result of this study is to construct software primarily based totally on open supply code (loose license) so that scholars and trendy programmers can use it to assist apprehend this system. According to the effects of the researchers' testing, the recuperation price is 100% and the accuracy is 100%.

There are many computational applications and engines used in mathematics, with some of the best-known arguably being Maple, Mathematica, MATLAB, and Mathcad. However, although they are very complete and powerful, they demand the use of commercial licences, which can be a problem for some education institutions or in cases where students desire to use the software on an unlimited number of devices or to access it from several of them simultaneously. In this contribution, we show how GeoGebra, WolframAlpha, Python, and SageMath can be applied to the teaching of different mathematical courses in engineering studies, as they are some of the most interesting representatives of free (and mostly open source) mathematical software. As the best way to show a topic in mathematics is by providing examples, this article explains how to make calculations for some of the main topics associated with Calculus, Algebra, and Coding theories. In addition to this, we provide some results associated with the usage of Mathematica in different graded activities. Moreover, the comparison between the results from students that use Mathematica and students that participate in a “traditional” course, solving problems and attending to master classes, is shown.
