Abstract Rapid Reservoir Modelling (RRM) is a software tool that combines geological operators and a flow diagnostics module with sketch-based interface and modelling technology. The geological operators account for all interactions of stratigraphic surfaces and ensure that the resulting 3D models are stratigraphically valid. The geological operators allow users to sketch in any order, from oldest to youngest, from large to small, or free of any prescribed order, depending on data-driven or concept-driven uncertainty in interpretation. Flow diagnostics assessment of the sketched models enforces the link between geological interpretation and flow behaviour without using time-consuming and computationally expensive workflows. Output of RRM models includes static measures of facies architecture, flow diagnostics and model elements that can be exported to industry-standard software. A deep-water case is presented to show how assessing the impact of different scenarios at a prototyping stage allows users to make informed decisions about subsequent modelling efforts and approaches. Furthermore, RRM provides a valuable method for training or to develop geological interpretation skills, in front of an outcrop or directly on subsurface data.

We develop best linear unbiased predictors (BLUP) of the latent values of labeled sample units selected from a finite population when there are two distinct sources of measurement error: endogenous, exogenous or both. Usual target parameters are the population mean, the latent values associated to a labeled unit or the latent value of the unit that will appear in a given position in the sample. We show how both types of measurement errors affect the within unit covariance matrices and indicate how the finite population BLUP may be obtained via standard software packages employed to fit mixed models in situations with either heteroskedastic or homoskedastic exogenous and endogenous measurement errors.

Lack of staffs and language barriers are two factors that limit the Malay Heritage Museum UPM staffs to handle visitors especially during peak seasons. Therefore, an augmented reality mobile application is proposed to assists and entertain visitors while touring the museum. In this work, the augmented reality will be imposed at the Malay traditional cloth and textiles section. To develop the propose application, the methodology used in this work is agile model due to its capability to ensure that the overall process can be done within a time given and also its ability to increase the standard software instantly. Agile model consists of six phases such as requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and review. The experiment was conducted on the same day and three hours were allocated for the respondent because they were having classes. The time required for one respondent to experience the MTRACR is approximately 10 minutes per person. The survey is used as a platform to get feedbacks from users. Based on the survey, it shows that all users were satisfied with the proposed application and they suggested others to use it.

The following method was used to apply the topology of the current study of evapotranspiration ETo, net irrigation demand, irrigation schedules, and total effective rain fall of different crop models: using the Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) CROPWAT 8.0 standard software and the CLIMWAT 2.0 tool and the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith approach to examine the variable topology of evapotranspiration ETo. Due to high temperatures in summer with an annual mean of 6.33 mm/day, the topological demonstration of reference evapotranspiration (ETo) increases from 2.84 mm/day in January to a maximum of 9.61 mm/day in July. Effective rainfall fluctuates from 0 mm to 53.4 mm. Total irrigation topological indices requirements were 308.3 mm/dec, 335.9 mm/dec, 343.6 mm/dec, 853 mm/dec, and 1479.6 mm/dec for barley, wheat, maize, rice, and citrus, respectively. The physical topological indices due to low demand in winter and high demand in summer, the total net irrigation, and gross irrigation for clay loamy soils for wheat (210.6 mm and 147.4 mm), barley (176.6 mm and 123.6 mm), citrus (204.5 mm and 143.2 mm), and maize (163.9 mm and 114.7 mm), but not for rice. This topology demonstrates that wheat has 4, barley has 4, citrus has 12, maize has 4, and rice crop has 12 irrigation schedules in a year.

El patrimonio aeronáutico a diferencia de otros como el arquitectónico o industrial no ha sido tan abordado históricamente.Desde hace 20 años, en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Sevilla, se imparte docencia sobre Diseño y Fabricación Asistidos por Ordenador en sus múltiples titulaciones [2]. En los estudios de Ingeniería Aeroespacial se emplea CATIA, software estándar en la industria aeronáutica europea, Estados Unidos y Canadá [3].Durante el aprendizaje, los alumnos adquieren competencias para realizar modelados y recreaciones virtuales [5], no tan sólo orientadas a sus futuras actividades profesionales, sino también a otras relativas al rescate y catalogación del patrimonio histórico aeronáutico [6].Se presenta en esta comunicación el Modelado y Recreación Virtual del avión biplano Ansaldo SVA 5 [7], cuya documentación de partida consistió en planos realizados a mano y en documentos referentes a los diferentes procesos de verificación del proyecto del avión y a las modificaciones realizadasAbstractThe aeronautical heritage, unlike others such as architectural or industrial heritage, has not been so much addressed historically.For the last 20 years, the Seville School of Engineering has been teaching Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing in its multiple degrees [2]. CATIA, standard software in the aeronautical industry in Europe, the United States and Canada, is used in the Aerospace Engineering studies [3].During the apprenticeship, students acquire skills to perform modelling and virtual recreations [5], not only oriented to their future professional activities, but also to others related to the rescue and cataloguing of the aeronautical historical heritage [6].This paper presents the modelling and virtual recreation of the biplane Ansaldo SVA 5 [7], whose starting documentation consisted of handmade plans and documents relating to the various processes of verification of the aircraft project and the modifications made.

Abstract Smart building and smart city specialists agree that complex, innovative use cases, especially those using cross-domain and multi-source data, need to make use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, today’s AI mainly concerns machine learning and artificial neural networks (deep learning), whereas the first forty years of the discipline (the last decades of the 20th century) were essentially focused on a knowledge-based approach, which is still relevant today for some tasks. In this article we advocate a merging of these two AI trends – an approach known as neuro-symbolic AI – for the smart city, and point the way towards a complete integration of the two technologies, compatible with standard software.

Abstract An immersive experience in modern virtual reality systems requires adjusting of various parameters. This report focuses on the problem of virtual representation of real movements of objects in space. Separately, a special class of problems is highlighted: synchronization of visual and dynamic imitation for virtual reality systems and motion platforms. Modern mass-produced virtual reality headsets do not allow effective tracking of human movements on a moving base using standard software. The element base and algorithms necessary for the successful solution of this problem are presented.

Web-based geographic information systems (GIS) and planning support systems are widely adopted as digital tools to support planning practices. The respective solutions tend to be isolated implementations aimed at a single planning purpose due to the specific requirement concerning their data, methodology, involved stakeholders etc. With data platforms, GIS infrastructures and the possibility to use web-based software that relies on open standards, creating a planning support infrastructure is more feasible than ever. Such infrastructures can create opportunities for governments to draw on existing systems and create the potential to improve planning practices through enhanced information and analysis. This paper describes the development of the Cockpit Social Infrastructure, a planning application that serves as an interface between Hamburg’s Urban Data Platform and the municipal planners of social infrastructure. Its unique institutional setting as well as its reliance on an open standard software architecture make it a unique case for potential planning support infrastructure.
