Pre-Talks are introduced as an equivalent of pre-prints to be added to repositories for open publishing to accompany pre-prints, which can optionally be inherited in peer review as quality assurance, to be published in journals or conferences. We present an Alexa skill 8980, part of a pre-talk for a paper on Mixed reality in Neurodiversity, part of the CSIS 8980 course at UMN Twin Cities. ANother example is the inclusion of an academic CRM and SME system, for posters, based on DialogFlow presented at the Hamline Symposium, at Hamline University, as part of this conference, a poster with the SME was presented. Thus academic CRM systems and pre-talks are presented with the use of VUI for the offline and automated presentation of slide show talks and the use of VUI for academic customer relationship management, with query handling and automated QnA sessions.

In 2020 as an emergency response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we at EGU pivoted to an online-only conference in a very short period of time. Although this meant that lots of things that we normally enjoy about our General Assembly were lost, some things were also gained, as we were able to experiment with digital solutions to the challenges of digitally presenting science. One of these solutions, the online pre-uploads of display materials and longer-term commenting on them, was very popular, so we are bringing it back again for vEGU21…. with a few adjustments. So how do you upload your displays and comment on materials this year? It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1: Add display materials!

From 31 March to 31 May, all accepted abstracts will have a space provided to upload display materials. These materials can be whatever you want – a quick slide show, a poster-style image, or a long-form version of your presentation slides – much like you can have in a regular PICO session. You can also, in addition to your data materials, upload a video that can even be a full-length recording of your talk! Your only limit is in the file size: you have 50 MB per abstract for *.pdf, *.ppt/pptx, *.pps/ppsx, *.png, and *.jpg files, and 200 MB for *.mp4 video files.

2: Create a vPICO summary slide!

During the first part of each vPICO session, each author has a scheduled time slot to give a 2-minute summary of their research. This 2 minute summary will help your audience to decide what ideas they want to follow up with speakers when discussing the work in more detail during the subsequent chat session. To facilitate your live 2-minute presentation, you need to upload a single summary slide as a *.png or *.jpg with a resolution of 150 dpi and 16:9 dimensions (in addition to your longer display materials).

3: Commenting is cool!

Like last year, commenting will be open on all uploaded display materials between 31 March and 31 May. The main difference for 2021 is that during this time, only registered conference attendees will be able to comment, unless the abstract authors have opted out of the commenting feature (in which case comments will be turned off). Authors will be notified of any new comments by email.

We are very excited to see all your wonderful and diverse display materials uploaded before 19 April 2021, though you’ll be able to make adjustments at any time during the two-month commenting period. The 2-minute summary slide has to be uploaded at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled presentation time, so we are ready to help you present your work for 2021.

The article analyses the specificity of reception of Mandelstam’s “Voronezh Notebooks” in the censored (prepublication) period during expertise of his works by independent researchers in Voronezh where his poems were created, recorded and authorized. The authors study the historical background and clarify some strategies of perception of Mandelstam’s lyrical poems and the problems of real and historical-literary commenting of his texts. The urgency of the study can be attributed to the need to investigate the history of accumulating precise knowledge about the poet and his creative activity recorded in personal documents such as letters, diaries, notebooks and transcripts of interviews kept in private collections of the scholars who took part in the search and systematization of historical and biographical data (and other reliable materials, facts and oral reminiscences) about Mandelstam’s life and his creative heritage. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that it includes in the scope of scholarly interest the notes of N. Mitrakova, written down in the 1960s–1980s during her communication with N. Shtempel (1908–1988) who, being a friend of N. Mandelstam, was involved in poet’s life, and saved and kept the major part of his archive. The article reconstructs the search for real Voronezh toponymy reinterpreted in the poet’s works. For the first time, the article provides extracts from previously unpublished and new diaries of Professor V. Svitelskiy (1940–2005), who was the founder of Mandelstam studies in Voronezh. The article publishes photos from N. Mitrakova’s private collection and photos made in the 1970s–1980s by the researcher, Candidate of Chemistry V. Gordin (1940–1992), who was N. Shtempel’s co-author of the album and the slide show “Mandelstam in Voronezh”. The text was prepared by O. Aleynikov. Quotes from the diaries of V. Svitelsky were prepared and provided by N. Mitrakova. Fragments of her memoirs about N. Shtempel and the search for real topography are highlighted in the text of the article as the author’s material.

Research location at Galeri 16 - Indonesian Bamboo Society, which was pioneered by Drs. Anang Sumarna Dipl.Tourism (Alm) 45 years ago. The interesting phenomenon in the presentation of a collection of displays that do not have the medium of interpretation as an information provider of a cultural tourism attraction. The results of documentary studies and interviews with visitors concluded that the experience of visiting Galeri 16 - Indonesian Bamboo Society had difficulty understanding information from each collection of displays, according to the context which in fact museums such as Galeri 16 - Indonesian Bamboo Society must be able to provide an interpretation of the function or meaning of collection objects. In other words, it is necessary to design several media interpretations as a facility for tourists in order to improve the tourist experience when traveling in the Galeri 16-IBS.

This article investigates how commodification operates with reference to expertise, rather than material objects. By drawing on the work of German management consultants, it highlights three forms of ignorance that arise as part of commodifying expertise. These are here described as ignorance due to profit, ignorance due to rhetoric and ignorance due to strong assumptions. These forms of ignorance render invisible the wider socio-economic effects of consulting, hide the degree to which corporate representations may not reflect the world they purport to describe, and postulate specific yet highly skewed understandings of freedom regarding human subjects. Taken together, they point out that a distinguishing feature of the commodification of expertise, vis-à-vis that of material objects, is that it provides greater scope for the creation and use of ignorance, as it blurs the boundaries between commodity and context.
