With the changing world energy structure, the development of renewable energy sources is gradually accelerating. Among them, close attention has been given to geothermal energy because of its abundant resources and supply stability. In this article, a deep borehole heat exchanger (DBHE) is coupled with a heat pump system to calculate the heat supply and daily electricity consumption of the system. To make better use of the peaks and valleys in electricity prices, the following three daily operating modes were studied: 24-h operation (Mode 1), 8-h operation plus 16-h non-operation (Mode 2), and two cycles of 4-h operation and 8-h non-operation (Mode 3). Simulation results show that scheduled non-continuous operation can effectively improve the outlet temperature of the heat extraction fluid circulating in the DBHE. The heat extraction rates of Mode 1 is 190.9 kW for mass flowrate of 9 kg/s; in Mode 2 and Mode 3 cases, the rates change to 304.7 kW and 293.0 kW, respectively. The daily operational electricity cost of Mode 1 is the greatest because of 24-h operation; due to scheduled non-continuous operation, the daily operational electricity cost of Mode 3 is only about 66% of that of Mode 2. After an 8-month period without heating, the formation-temperature can be restored within 4 °C of its original state; 90% recovery of the formation-temperature can be achieved by the end of the second month of the non-operation season.

Study examined AI and SE transdisciplinarity to find ways of aligning them to enable development of AI-SE transdisciplinary theory. Literature review and analysis method was used. The findings are AI and SE transdisciplinarity is tacit with islands within and between them that can be linked to accelerate their transdisciplinary orientation by codification, internally developing and externally borrowing and adapting transdisciplinary theories. Lack of theory has been identified as the major barrier toward towards maturing the two disciplines as engineering disciplines. Creating AI and SE transdisciplinary theory would contribute to maturing AI and SE engineering disciplines.  Implications of study are transdisciplinary theory can support mode 2 and 3 AI and SE innovations; provide an alternative for maturing two disciplines as engineering disciplines. Study’s originality it’s first in SE, AI or their intersections.

Abstract In this paper, we consider a diffusive predator-prey system with spatial memory and predator-taxis. Since in this system, the memory delay appears in the diffusion term, and the diffusion term is nonlinear, the classical normal form of Hopf bifurcation in the reaction-diffusion system with delay can't be applied to this system. Thus, in this paper, we first derive an algorithm for calculating the normal form of Hopf bifurcation in this system. Then in order to illustrate the effectiveness of our newly developed algorithm, we consider the diffusive Holling-Tanner model with spatial memory and predator-taxis. The stability and Hopf bifurcation analysis of this model are investigated, and the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation periodic solution are also researched by using our newly developed algorithm for calculating the normal form of Hopf bifurcation. At last, we carry out some numerical simulations, two stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions corresponding to the mode-1 and mode-2 Hopf bifurcations are found, which verifies our theoretical analysis results.

AbstractIn recent years, solar cell cracks have been a topic of interest to industry because of their impact on performance deterioration. Therefore, in this work, we investigate the correlation of four crack modes and their effects on the temperature of the solar cell, well known as hotspot. We divided the crack modes to crack free (mode 1), micro-crack (mode 2), shaded area (mode 3), and breakdown (mode 4). Using a dataset of 12 different solar cell samples, we have found that there are no hotspots detected for a solar cell affected by modes 1 or 2. However, we discovered that the solar cell is likely to have hotspots if affected by crack mode 3 or 4, with an expected increase in the temperature from 25$$^\circ $$ ∘ C to 100$$^\circ $$ ∘ C. Additionally, we have noticed that an increase in the shading ratio in solar cells can cause severe hotspots. For this reason, we observed that the worst-case scenario for a hotspot to develop is at shading ratios of 40% to 60%, with an identified increase in the cell temperature from 25$$^\circ $$ ∘ C to 105$$^\circ $$ ∘ C.

Information Systems (IS) scholars attempted to explore the intellectual structure of the IS discipline from previous literature. However, the corpus data, analytical method, and sample size are significantly different among these review studies, which lead to rather mixed results. In this bibliometric review, the authors portray and visualize the panorama of the evolutionary process of IS research with two powerful bibliometric tools, including both CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Specifically, based on a series of bibliometric algorithms (e.g., SCI-Map and referene-NLP), the authors analyze 80,147 primary articles and 1,325,376 secondary articles in the IS domain to examine its 1) intellectual output mode, 2) knowledge bases, and 3) the popular and promising topics in the future from the evolutionary and clustering perspectives. By doing so, the authors provide a comprehensive navigation for the IS studies and set up an agenda for future research.

Abstract The effect of electron irradiation of barley seeds of the Vladimir variety on the development of plants, disease incidence and productivity in controlled greenhouse conditions has been studied. It was found that the effectiveness of the effect of seed treatment with low-energy electronic radiation in the dose range of 30–150 kGy on the morphometric parameters of barley largely depends on the accelerating voltage – 130 kV (mode 1) and 160 kV (mode 2). It was noted that irradiation suppressed the formation of chlorophyll a and b and carotenoids in barley leaves at all doses and irradiation regimes and, at the tendency level, reduced the infestation of Bipolaris sorokiniana plants in the tillering and heading phases. It was shown that irradiation of seeds caused an increase in the total tillering of plants (mode 2), but at the same time reduced the productive tillering. Electron irradiation caused an increase in the mass of 1000 grains and did not affect the yield of grain and straw.
