Vocational and professional training tracks can be a good option for many adolescents, many of whom enter these programs with a sometimes hidden burden of negative experiences and attitudes to school. This paper explores the sense of academic futility in future VET students at the end of lower secondary education. Drawing on qualitative interviews with 25 Czech students in which they described their experiences from lower secondary school, we found that despite the students’ beliefs that their achievement is the product of their own effort, they describe situations from which it is evident that they noticed (i.e., perceived) that they actually did lose control over their results. At the same time, they explicitly claim that they have full control over their own achievement. This implicit sense of academic futility is created by several mechanisms at the school level: the curriculum, ineffective teaching, grading leniency, and teachers’ distrust of students’ capabilities.

The article covers the establishment and development of specialized hotels for animals, the study of prospects for the introduction of hotels of this type in Ukraine. Zoo hotels have appeared as an alternative to keeping animals in hospitals at veterinary clinics. By the way, they provide such services to them. Small boxes that limit the extra mobility of the pet - a good option after surgery during the rehabilitation period, but not for a perfectly healthy animal. Hotel for animals - a specialized room that meets the established requirements for the accommodation of animals temporarily transferred by their owners for maintenance [azar]. The world of pets is very interesting. Observing and studying it, and people are fascinated not only by amazement and new discoveries, they care about animals and kindness, and love, and indulgence. Knowing animals, man knows himself. Throughout history, pets have played a key role in human life, and have been seen primarily as suppliers of food, clothing, transportation, and time as an object of religious worship. Although animals around the world still use these traditional uses, the role of many animals in society has changed. Yes, there is a sharp increase in the number of animals that are supported and maintained as abilities for pleasure.

The article focuses on the essence of populism and fascism in the context of the political regime in Romania. It analyses the real threat of fascism in the interwar period in Romania as well as a negative impact on the socio-economic sphere in the Romanian society. The article also points to the fact that the fascist party in Romania was short-lived. The dictatorship of Ion Antonesku and his followers, in fact, implemented some points of their program (eg, anti-Semitic activities), adopting mate nationalistic and conservative ideology, but it did not accept the fascist "revolutionary" ideas and totalitarian structures. Populism is a good option for election campaigns. After all, people always like a simple and understandable way without undue burden. Human logic and speculation aid such a way. Nevertheless, populism is a nourishment for authoritarian leaders.

Intraosseous lipomas are rare bone lesions that can affect any part of the skeleton. In the calcaneum, they are, generally, asymptomatic, but in some cases, patients may complain of pain, swelling or tenderness. Well-conducted radiography and MRI examinations can lead to an accurate diagnosis. In most cases, patients could benefit from conservative means of treatment, but in long-lasting symptomatic cases, surgical treatment may be a good option. The purpose of this article is to increase clinicians’ awareness of this lesion as a possible cause of heel pain and to describe a case of a symptomatic intraosseous lipoma of the calcaneum who underwent curettage and bone cement filling after failure of conservative treatment.

Background: Notalgia paresthetica (NP) is a sensory neuropathic syndrome characterized by chronic itching of the unilateral mid-back. Topical and systemic symptomatic treatments have been used to date. In recent years, neuropathic pain medicine has been used to relieve the symptoms of the disease. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of pregabalin in notalgia paresthetica. Materials and Methods: In this study, the files of the patients with a diagnosis of NP and treated with pregabalin for at least one month in the period between 2016 and 2018 were evaluated retrospectively. Results: Thirteen cases of NP treated with low-dose (up to 150 mg/day) pregabalin were evaluated, and 9 (70%) patients exhibited a good response in this retrospective study. All patients were female and the mean age was 53.5 (31–71) ± 10.3 years. The mean disease duration was 6.1 (1–10) ± 4.1 years. Conclusion: Treatment with low-dose pregabalin may be a good option for the symptomatic treatment of NP.

The foams are biohybrid, resistant, biocompatible, biodegradable materials that allow cyanobacteria to survive inside them and produce the desired biofuel. It is a macroporous material with high porosity. Its synthesis is relatively simple, and can be classified into three main steps: formation of the chitosan and sepiolite solutions, freeze-drying them and finally the introduction of the cells inside. This will result in a material with many possibilities, which, despite having some disadvantages such as its low resistance to liquids after synthesis, could be a good option by applying different modifications to suit the needs of the cells.

To optimize decision making, animals need to execute not only a strategy to choose a good option but sometimes also one to avoid a bad option. A psychological study indicates that positive and negative information is processed in a different manner in the brain. The nucleus accumbens (NAc) contains two different types of neurons, dopamine D1 and D2 receptor-expressing neurons which are implicated in reward-based decision making and aversive learning. However, little is known about the neural mechanisms by which D1 or D2 receptor-expressing neurons in the NAc contribute to the execution of the strategy to choose a good option or one to avoid a bad option under decision making. Here, we have developed two novel visual discrimination tasks for mice to assess the strategy to choose a good option and one to avoid a bad option. By chemogenetically suppressing the subpopulation of the NAc neurons, we have shown that dopamine D2 receptor-expressing neurons in the NAc selectively contribute to the strategy to avoid a bad option under reward-based decision making. Furthermore, our optogenetic and calcium imaging experiments indicate that dopamine D2 receptor-expressing neurons are activated by error choices and the activation following an error plays an important role in optimizing the strategy in the next trial. Our findings suggest that the activation of D2 receptor-expressing neurons by error choices through learning enables animals to execute the appropriate strategy.
