We consider the entanglement marginal problem, which consists of deciding whether a number of reduced density matrices are compatible with an overall separable quantum state. To tackle this problem, we propose hierarchies of semidefinite programming relaxations of the set of quantum state marginals admitting a fully separable extension. We connect the completeness of each hierarchy to the resolution of an analog classical marginal problem and thus identify relevant experimental situations where the hierarchies are complete. For finitely many parties on a star configuration or a chain, we find that we can achieve an arbitrarily good approximation to the set of nearest-neighbour marginals of separable states with a time (space) complexity polynomial (linear) on the system size. Our results even extend to infinite systems, such as translation-invariant systems in 1D, as well as higher spatial dimensions with extra symmetries.

Offshore Direct Current (DC) collector grids are a promising technology for decreasing the installation and operation costs of offshore wind parks. Nevertheless, the stability properties and hence the design of such DC collector grids is not common or standardised. Hence, this paper describes an attempt to fill these gaps by analysing the stability of two different types of DC collector grids—star and string—by considering identical operating conditions. The approach follows a non-parametric formulation of the impedance based Nyquist Stability Criterion. The hyperbolic Π equivalent formulation of the telegraph equation is adopted for modelling the submarine cable due to high capacitance that is distributed and thus the conventional 50 Hz Π-model is not sufficient anymore. Furthermore, the paper shows how to integrate the complex dynamics of wind turbines into the overall stability assessment through an impedance building algorithm. Finally, it is shown how to stabilise the collector grids by means of active control parameter changes and it has been observed that the star configuration of wind turbines is more favourable on account of stability and controllability.

At present, most of the reported planar pentacoordinate clusters are similar to the isoelectronic substitution of CAl5+, with 18 counting electrons. Meanwhile, the regular planar pentacoordinate boron systems are rarely reported. Hereby, a sulphur-bridged BAl5S5+ system with a five-pointed star configuration and 17 counting electrons is identified at the global energy minimum through the particle-swarm optimization method, based on the previous recognition on bridged sulphur as the peripheral tactics to the stable planar tetracoordinate carbon and boron. Its outstanding stability has been demonstrated by thermodynamic analysis at 900 K, electronic properties and chemical bonding analysis. This study provides adequately theoretical basis and referable data for its experimental capture and testing.

AbstractIn this work we construct an ultracompact star configuration in the framework of Gravitational Decoupling by the Minimal Geometric Deformation approach. We use the complexity factor as a complementary condition to close the system of differential equations. It is shown that for a polynomial complexity the resulting solution can be matched with two different modified-vacuum geometries.

An approach based on shared aperture antenna array is researched for simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) applications. The proposed configuration is a 10×10 antenna array of circularly-polarized (CP) elements with 50 elements, somewhat sparsely distributed, dedicated for Tx while the remaining elements dedicated for Rx. The high isolation is achieved between Tx and Rx elements at the expense of higher sidelobe levels, which is an inherent property of sparse antenna arrays. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed STAR configuration, numerical modelling is conducted using multilevel fast multipole method (MLFMM) solver in Altair FEKO.

In this study, tests were carried out on a brushless permanent magnet DC motor with different winding configurations. Three configurations were compared: star, delta and combined star–delta. A mathematical model was constructed for the motor, taking into account the different winding configurations. An analysis of the operation of the motor in the different configurations was performed, based on numerical calculations. The use of different winding configurations affects the properties of the motor. This is significant in the case of the occurrence of various fault states. Based on numerical calculations, an analysis of an open-circuit fault in one of the phases of the motor was performed. Fast Fourier Transform—FFT analysis of the artificial neutral-point voltage was used for the detection of fault states. The results were verified by tests carried out under laboratory conditions. It was shown that the winding configuration has an impact on the behaviour of the motor in the case of an open circuit in one of the phases. The classical star configuration is the worst of the possible arrangements. The most favourable in this respect is the delta configuration. In the case of the combined star–delta configuration, the consequences of the fault depend on the location of the open circuit.
