Abstract The motion of fluids presents interesting phenomena including flow separation, wakes, turbulence etc. The physics of these are enshrined in the continuity equation and the NSE. Therefore, their studies are important in mathematics and physics. They also have engineering applications. These studies can either be carried out experimentally, numerically, or theoretically. Theoretical studies using classical potential theory (CPT) have some gaps when compared to experiments. The present publication is part of a series introducing refined potential (RPT) that bridges these gaps. It leverages experimental observations, physical deductions and the match between CPT and experimentally observed flows in the theoretical development. It analytically imitates the numerical source/vortex panel method to describe how wall bounded eddies in a three-dimensional cylinder crossflow are linked to the detached wake eddies. Unlike discrete and arbitrary vortices/sources on the cylinder surface whose strengths are numerically determined in the panel method, the vortices/sources/sinks in RPT are mutually concentric and continuously distributed on the cylinder surface. Their strengths are analytically determined from CPT using physical deductions starting from Reynolds number dependence. This study results in the incompressible Kwasu function which is a Eulerian velocity potential/stream function that captures vorticity, boundary layer, shed wake vortices, three-dimensional effects, and turbulence. This Eulerian Kwasu function also theorizes streaklines. The Lagrangian form of the function is further exploited to obtain flow pathlines.

This study was conducted to develop students’ worksheet based Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP) in teaching and learning mathematics and physics. These materials were also integrated with students’ local wisdom. To realize the construction, this research used the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Development (ADDIE) as a research model. The students’ worksheet were reviewed and validated by two different experts in the aspects of media and materials used. The results indicated that 92.22% of the media was considered very valid. The materials employed in the worksheet were regarded 89.66 % to be very valid and as much as 91.52% was considered appropriate. Meanwhile, the data from questionnaires showed that the percentage evaluation as much as 77.24 % were taken from mathematics worksheet and 76.95 % was of physics. These results indicated that the students’ worksheets used to teach mathematics and physics can be applied as teaching and learning materials in the area of social arithmetic and in the unit and measurements.

The development of operator theory is stimulated by the need to solve problems emerging from several fields in mathematics and physics. At the present time, this theory has wide applications in the study of non-linear differential equations, in linear transport theory, in the theory of diffraction of acoustic and electromagnetic waves, in the theory of scattering and of inverse scattering, among others. In our work, we use the computer algebra system Mathematica to implement, for the first time on a computer, analytical algorithms developed by us and others within operator theory. The main goal of this paper is to present new operator theory algorithms related to Cauchy type singular integrals, defined in the unit circle. The design of these algorithms was focused on the possibility of implementing on a computer all the extensive symbolic and numeric calculations present in the algorithms. Several nontrivial examples computed with the algorithms are presented. The corresponding source code of the algorithms has been made available as a supplement to the online edition of this article.

Abstract We present the definitions of the Pythagorean means – arithmetic, geometric, and harmonic – and discuss some examples from thermodynamics where these means are found. This paper has a pedagogical character and highlights the close connection between mathematics and physics.

Abstract Python’s list array is more powerful than arrays in other languages like C, C++, Fortran, or Java. However, in some cases it becomes tedious and complicated to construct a multidimensional ‘list’ type array in Python. A Python tool namely ‘dimpy’ is discussed in this paper which can easily generate any multidimensional ‘list’ type array in python. Another Python package called tablefile for reading and analysing column-wise data from a data-file is also discussed. How these two tools may be useful and reduce steps of programming is shown by using some mathematics and physics related problems.

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected all fields, including the management of a school/madrasah, which is influenced by the leadership style of the principal. Leadership style is a method that is owned by the head of the madrasa in carrying out special leadership at MA Darul Ma'arif Numbay. The purpose of this study is to describe the leadership style of the madrasa principal at MA Darul Ma'arif Numbay in improving student performance and achievement during the covid 19 pandemic. Qualitative research method. The data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive data. The results showed that the leadership style used by the madrasah principal in applying the open and situational leadership style at MA Darul Ma'arif Numbay during the COVID-19 pandemic has been running and the results have been seen and can be felt by madrasa residents including students with increased teacher performance and the existence of student achievement in the academic field of madrasa science competence in the fields of mathematics and physics in 2021. ABSTRAKPandemi covid 19 sangat mempengaruhi segala bidang termasuk pengelolaan suatu sekolah/madrasah dipengaruhi oleh gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah. Gaya kepemimpinan merupakan suatu cara yang dimiliki oleh kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan kepemimpinan khusus di MA Darul Ma’arif Numbay. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengambarkan gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MA Darul Ma’arif Numbay dalam meningkatkan kinerja dan prestasi siswa di masa pandemic covid 19. Metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik analisis data menggunakan data deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan yang digunakan kepala madrasah dalam menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan open dan situasional di MA Darul Ma’arif Numbay pada masa pandemic covid 19 telah berjalan dan hasilnya sudah terlihat dan dapat dirasakan oleh warga madrasah termasuk peserta didik dengan meningkatnya kinerja guru dan adanya prestasi siswa bidang akademik kompetensi sains madrasah di bidang matematika dan fisika tahun 2021.
