In the article the phenomenon of pop excitement, its essential and qualitative features of detection in the music art are considered. The author notes that public performance is always accompanied by excitement. In this state the process of music creating happens, during which all musician’s creative abilities are activated, the reserve capabilities of the individual are accumulated to create vivid concepts of musical works and convey them to the audience. Also, in the article the features of professional and psychological preparation of performers for public performances are revealed. The author considers innovative approaches, methods, techniques, exercises, directions that should be used by future music art teachers to overcome the negative effects of pop excitement during performance on stage. To achieve comfortable mental state during the performance, it is proposed to use the following psychotherapeutic directions in the process of preparing students for performance: NLP – neuro-linguistic programming; body-oriented training; vocal therapy. Thus, the use of NLP allows the teacher to penetrate into the inner world of the individual to reveal his/her reserve capabilities, expand worldview, intensify creative and mental processes. In the process of preparing future music art teachers for public performance, the author pays attention to the fact that the method of «anchoring» will help to overcome negative emotional states, and methods of associations, analogies, comparisons, metaphors, symbols will help to activate various mental states, form new creative ideas. In the article body-oriented training that helps to overcome future music art teachers’ muscle cramps, their emancipation through physical, instrumental and vocal exercises is considered. The author proposes to use the method of vocal therapy, role preparation, the method of playing a concert program in front of an imaginary audience and playing music to overcome the pop excitement on stage, which will ensure performance stability and reliability during the presentation of the program to the audience. The author indicates that the technique of «sensory reconstruction» will help to implement of self-regulation of emotional states in the process of preparation for public performance and during it, and to relieve nervous and mental stress and master the optimal concert state, it is recommended to use methods of autogenic and meditative immersion.

Fake news and populist movements that appear to hold the fate of democracy hostage are urgent concerns around the world.  The flight from liberal democracy toward oligarchy has spread out from the unexpected results of the 2016 American presidential elections bringing in a wave of reactionary populism and the beginning of a left populist counter movement. The phenomenon of fake news is often explained in terms of opposition public relations strategies and geopolitics that shift audiences toward a regime of post-truth where emotion is said to triumphs over reason, computational propaganda over common sense, or sheer power over knowledge. In this chapter, the authors propose something different in order to theorize the imaginary audience(s) and conditions of reception for fake news treated as both a symptom (often of injury) and a cause (at times a danger to democracy). This leads them to evaluate the role it plays in defining what the fields of journalism, politics, and social science are becoming and what it means for democracy to come.

Lapsley’s (1993) “New Look” model for the interpretation of adolescentegocentrism, as an alternative to the classic cognitive one formulated by Elkind (1967), was tested in this study. According to the “New Look” model, the two manifestations of adolescent egocentrism – the imaginary audience and the personal fable – are adaptive coping mechanisms used by adolescents in their attempt to deal with the stressful developmental aim of separation-individuation. Two-hundred ninety seven adolescents 11-18 years’ old completed the Imaginary Audience Scale (Elkind & Bowen, 1979), the New Imaginary Audience Scale (Lapsley, Fitzgerald, Rice, & Jackson, 1989), the Personal Fable Scale (Elkind, personal communication, August 10, 1993), the New Personal Fable Scale (Lapsley et al., 1989), and the Separation-Individuation Test of Adolescence (Levine, Green, & Millon, 1986; Levine & Saintonge, 1993). The “New Look” model was generally supported by the data. The various dimensions of separation were significantly associated with the imaginary audience, whereas the dimensions of individuation had stronger links with the personal fable. In addition, some associations were found between the imaginary audience and individuation, as well as between the personal fable and separation. Consistent age and gender differences in the variables studied were found. Results are discussed in the framework of the literature on adolescent egocentrism and on parent-adolescent relations.

OBJECTIVES: The present study aimed to investigate gender differences on Imaginary Audience (IA) and depression among college students. METHODOLOGY: Six hundred college students, both boys (n=299) and girls (n=274) completed cross sectional survey. Data was collected from different colleges of Peshawar (KPK) from September- December 2016 using purposive sampling technique. The age range of the sample was 17-22 (M=19, SD=1.47) years. Two scales, New Imaginary Audience Scale (NIAS) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were administered to them.   RESULTS: Analysis of the findings was made using stepwise deletion technique for sample distribution and t-test. Statistically significant gender differences were found on New Imaginary Audience Scale (t=-2.48, p= .001) and Beck Depression Inventory (t=3.07, p= .02). Mean score was on NIAS were among girls, while on depression boys mean scores were prominent. CONCLUSION: The results of the present study concluded gender differences on both variables i-e NIAS and Depression. The findings further suggest that girls have prominent features of new imaginary audience in their student’s life whereas, boys pertain depressive symptoms during this period.

This study aimed to identify the predictions of imaginary audience and personal fable to the aggression behavior of adolescents in the city of Bandung. Participants of the study were 395 adolescents that range 13-18 years old, selected by cluster random sampling techniques. The research data was collected by the New Imaginary Audience Scale (NIAS), the New Personal Fable Scale (NPFS), and the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire that had been adapted into Indonesian. Processing data research using simple and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there was significantly effect of imaginary audience and personal fable on agression behavior. Simultaneously the contribution of imaginary audience and personal fable to adolescent aggression behavior in Bandung is 12%. The contribution of imaginary audience to adolescent aggression behavior is partially higher than personal fable contribution
