In this article, the work consisted of measuring the achievement of training objectives and analyzing participants' perception of their training outcomes. Thus, the purpose of this research is to assess the use of andragogic techniques in the training of adult trainers in a continuing vocational training centre. The methodological approach adopted is mixed. The exhaustive census of the 12 trainers in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) invited to strengthen their capacities is done. There were 10 who agreed to participate in the survey. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire (training score sheet) used to see their level of satisfaction and an interview guide to find out how participants perceived the training workshop. Categorical analysis made it possible to process qualitative data and to divide the different responses into sets according to their meaning and contextual interpretation. For the most part, the training participants are completely satisfied with the training modules in andragogy which, together with the concepts taught in the SDGs, will allow the improvement of their practices. More than 70% of the participants liked the material organization and more than 80% clearly appreciated the course of the training. It is therefore important to train trainers in the andragogic approach to strengthen their capacities in understanding and interpreting the SDGs as a strategy for achieving training objectives.

At a time of exacerbated globalization, education, and more generally training, is a key factor for our society, at the heart of territories challenged to renew themselves in the face of the emergence around the globe of new centers of economic and demographic gravity, with their own models. Training, and its link with working life, is a real challenge to face, in the near future, the technological, economic, political and environmental revolutions that we are already facing. Beyond what is called sandwich training or continuing vocational training in Higher Education, the current challenge is indeed around lifelong learning, old concept but whose forms always call for an actualization in modernity. At the heart of a small island territory like Corsica, this challenge is all the more crucial to take up as it foreshadows its attractiveness in a context of glocalisation (Mair, 1991) now durably anchored. In an ever-changing global environment, with moving landmarks, increasingly complex personal and professional lives, and where everything that seemed well compartmentalized yesterday faces increasing porosity, the purpose of this contribution is to explain that the international mobility of students apprentices, at the heart of the construction of a skills economy, is a major strategic issue for the development and structuring of a small territory such as Corsica.

Abstract BackgroundMedical simulation has turned to be a well-developed educational technique at a postgraduate level, including, residency programs and continuing vocational training. However, its applicability has still not been clearly defined when providing education to undergraduate medical students.ObjectiveThe aim of the study was to determine the opinion of undergraduate medical students about the effectiveness of manikin-based and SP-based high-fidelity scenarios for learning clinical objectives. This is considered important in a discussion about the systematic implementation of SP-based simulation in undergraduate medical education.MethodsA mixed methods approach was used to collect the evidence. Triangulation included a literature review, semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey. The study was conducted among 6th-year medical students who experienced various clinical educational techniques.ResultsStudents preferred SP-based medical simulation, as they perceived it to be more life-like than with a manikin. It was also reported to be more effective for developing non-technical skills, including communication and interpersonal skills. However, when technical skills were taken into consideration, for instance, performing invasive and non-invasive procedures, students opted for using manikins or a combination of both. ConclusionsThe study results suggest that both manikins and SPs should be included in the medical curriculum from the beginning of students’ clinical experience. A combination of both modalities would ensure acquisition of skills, both technical and non-technical, required from contemporary health care professionals.

Dual study possibilities in selected EU countries. The idea of dual study courses is more and more common in the EU due to the raising problem of the lack of qualified employees. Although the dual studies are very similar in their form such as internships in companies, case studies etc., their scope differs significantly among the analyzed countries. It was observed that, on average, about 70% of students take part in the vocational education and training in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Netherlands, Slovakia and Slovenia but only 20% in Cyprus and Hungary. In countries such as: Germany, Netherlands and Austria over 40% of companies employ vocational education and training participants while the average costs of continuing vocational training for the EU-28 is calculated at the level of around 1500 Purchasing Power Standard per participant. The research was based on the data obtained from the EUROSTAT.

In France, the field of lifelong learning has undergone many changes since 2014 according to the laws that have been promulgated. While the reform on vocational training for employment and social democracy finalized the decentralization of vocational training by giving regions the means for a more coherent action and placed them as a pilot for the construction of training policies, the recent law for the freedom to choose one's professional future recentralises the regulation of continuing vocational training and sandwich courses. This development will not fail to impact the governance of the CFA, especially those of Higher Education anchored in the small territories. Faced with this major structural issue in the specific context of a small island economy, the University Center for Apprenticeship Training in the Corsican region strives, for a decade, to contribute to the enhancement of the professional integration of work-study students from the University of Corsica, by the development and the durability of determining factors characteristic of a small territorial area in search of structuration. After having highlighted the qualitative results resulting from the activity dynamics of the CFA University in Corsica, this contribution will analyze the perspectives drawn from the exemplary nature of the latter in the context of a new law that is supposed to contribute to the regional structuring of a knowledge and competence economy.
