Abstract A kinetic model for the reactions between the low-fluoride slag CaF2–CaO–Al2O3–MgO–Li2O–TiO2 and Incoloy 825 alloy was proposed based on the two-film theory. The applicability of the model was verified to predict the variation of components in the slag–metal reaction process. The results show that the controlling step of the reaction 4[Al] + 3(TiO2) = 3[Ti] + 2(Al2O3) is the mass transfer of Al and Ti in the liquid alloy and the controlling step of the reactions 4[Al] + 3(SiO2) = 3[Si] + 2(Al2O3) and [Si] + (TiO2) = [Ti] + (SiO2) is the mass transfer of SiO2 in the molten slag. With increasing TiO2 content in the slag from 3.57% to 11.27%, the Al content in the alloy decreased whereas the Ti content increased gradually. The Si content continued to decrease during the slag–metal reaction. Soluble oxygen in the alloy reacts with Al, Ti, and Si, resulting in a decrease of the oxygen content in the alloy. The variations of TiO2 content were in good agreement with the calculated results by the kinetic model whereas the measured results of Al2O3 and SiO2 in the slag were lower than the calculated results, which is mainly due to the volatilization of fluoride.

Abstract: Our current concern is that nitrogen and phosphorus amounts are rising rapidly, Otherwise, to limit the growth of algae and biomass, it exists in relatively low concentrations in unmodified natural waters. This investigation aims to attempt to measure the level of eutrophication in the Hosur LakesFor this research, we chose three lakes named Chandrakudi Lake, Doddan Lake and Kelavarapalli dam. For dissolved orthophosphate, chemical oxygen need, organic nitrogen, free ammonia, inorganic nitrogen whole phosphorus and soluble oxygen, etc. some exemplars were gathered and examined. The onsite research as transparence, facts on killing fish and deterioration of the lakes conditions, etc. was also accomplished. The eutrophication rate in the lakes was measured using the Wetzel's plan. The results showed that the rate of eutrophication was very high in all three lakes, i.e. more than enough to very rich in nutrients that cause excessive plant growth, which chokes out the animal life in the water.

Ferrimicrobium acidiphilum is a Gram-positive member of the Actinobacteria phylum that can respire aerobically or anaerobically with soluble Fe(II) or Fe(III), respectively, in sulfuric acid at pH 1.5. Cyclic voltammetry measurements using intact F. acidiphilum at pH 1.5 produced fully reversible voltammograms that were highly reproducible. The maximum current observed with the anodic peak was considerably less than was the maximum current observed with the cathodic peak. This difference was attributed to the competition between the platinum electrode and the soluble oxygen for the available electrons that were introduced by the cathodic wave into this facultative aerobic organism. The standard reduction potential of the intact organism was determined to be 786 mV vs. the standard hydrogen electrode, slightly more positive than that of 735 mV that was determined for soluble iron at pH 1.5 using the same apparatus. Chronocoulometry measurements conducted at different cell densities revealed that the intact organism remained in close proximity to the working electrode during the measurement, whereas soluble ionic iron did not. When the cyclic voltammetry of intact F. acidiphilum was monitored using an integrating cavity absorption meter, the only small changes in absorbance that were detected were consistent with the participation of a cellular cytochrome with reduced absorbance peaks at 448 and 605 nm. The cytochrome that participated in the exchange of electrons between the intact organism and extracellular solid electrodes like platinum was the same cytochrome whose oxidation was previously shown to be rate-limiting when the organism respired aerobically on extracellular soluble iron.

Abstract Objectives RBCs are known to undergo deleterious changes during storage, known as storage lesions, which have been shown to result in decreased oxygen-carrying capacity. However, there is inadequate literature describing the effects of stored RBC allogeneic transfusion on oxygen parameters in vivo. The oxygen standard parameters were retrospectively assessed before and after RBC transfusion. Methods Patients who received 1 RBC transfusion were assessed for hemoglobin (Hb) levels, peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (Spo2), and partial pressure of arterial oxygen (Pao2) from 12 hours before and 24 hours after transfusion. Results In total, 78 patients who were monitored by Spo2 and 28 patients monitored by Pao2 were included in this analysis. Following RBC transfusion, Hb levels increased significantly (P < .001); however, there was a significant decrease in both Spo2 and Pao2 within 24 hours after transfusion (P = .04 and P = .003, respectively), indicating lower tissue oxygenation and lower soluble oxygen level. Conclusions This single-center, retrospective study revealed evidence of significantly decreased oxygenation and tissue perfusion after single-unit RBC transfusion, despite corrected Hb levels.

The purpose of the research: is studying the seasonal dynamics of carp infection with Bothriocephalus sp. in cage farming under the new conditions (no discharge into the reservoir-cooler of warm water, wintering in cages under the ice). Materials and methods. To study the dynamics of contamination of carp yearlings with Bothriocephalus sp. In JSC Cherepetskaya fish farm is chosen 4 cage with fingerlings of carp. Monthly, from April to November 2017, the helminthological autopsy carried out on 10 yearlings carp from each tank to establish the extensiveness and intensity of infection of fish with Bothriocephalus sp. The content of soluble oxygen in water and measured the water temperature in the zone of location of the garden lines determined daily. After carrying out preventive treatments with microsal fish from all experimental cages were opened and the effectiveness of treatment was determined. Results and discussion. Carp are infected with Bothriocephalus sp. in April at 30-50%, in May there was a slight increase of the infection (40- 50%). After the first treatment with feed drug mixtures with microsal, a significant decrease in the infection of the fish with Bothriocephalus sp. occurred. In three cages 100% efficiency was obtained. In the cage No 21, the effectiveness of treatment was 75,0%. In June 2017, in the No. 21 cage, fish contamination increased till 20%. In the remaining three experimental cages, the fish did not infected. At the end of July, there was a sharp increase in the extensiveness and intensity of infection of fish by Bothriocephalus sp. - from 10 to 40% at an invasive rate from 1 to 2,25 cestodes per fish. In August, the extent of infection continued to grow and amounted to 30-60% for different experimental cages, the intensity of infection remained at the same level. On September 18, 2017, after the second treatment of fish with the therapeutic granulated mixed fodder with microsal, efficiency in cages No 5, No. 25 and No 36 was 100%. In the cage No 21, efficiency was 83,3%. In October and November 2017 there was an insignificant increase in fish infection by cestodes. The incidence of infection in October was 10% in the cage No 21, 20% and 10% in the cages 21 and 36 respectively. In the remaining experimental cages, the infection of fish with Bothriocephalus sp. is not established.

In converter steelmaking of AISI 1006 steel for thin foil products, two tapping practices are used with respect to deoxidation: silicon and manganese additions during tapping and aluminum deoxidation after complete tapping (?semikilled practice?) and aluminum deoxidation during tapping, ?fully killed practice?. There is a perception that the semikilled practice may be more economical and result in the same quality as the fully killed practice. In this work, the effects of the tapping practice on steel quality and cost variables were evaluated for thin foils of AISI 1006 steel. Oxygen and aluminum content, aluminum and ferro-alloy yield, the type of alumina inclusions formed, and the quality of the steel during thin foil rolling were evaluated and compared. It is shown that the fully killed practice leads to less reoxidation from slag, lower soluble oxygen, and lower total oxygen at the caster as well as better morphology of the remaining alumina inclusions than the semi-killed practice. Thus, the higher quality of the steel produced via the fully killed tapping deoxidation practice when compared with semi-killed tapping is demonstrated. It is also shown that a complete cost evaluation favors this practice in the case of products rolled for tin foil production.
