Abstract. Geospatial data and related technologies have increasingly become a crucial part of big data analysis processes and even a prominent player in most of them. Serverless architectures have become today's trending and widely used technology within the cloud computing paradigm. In this paper, we review the serverless paradigm advantages over traditional cloud architecture models and infrastructures. Moreover, we examined the deployment of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Processing Service (WPS) specification based geoprocessing Application Programming Interface (API) with serverless architecture. In this context, we propose a system design and review it in detail together with the results discussed along with use cases.

This study aims to identify and describe the constraints faced by librarians of the Hasanuddin University Library when working from home (WFH) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is descriptive. Respondents of this study were librarians of the Hasanuddin University Library who carried out official duties in the field of librarianship at home including doing WFH during the COVID-19 pandemic, starting from the Procurement, Processing, Service, and Information and Technology units. There were two librarians representing each unit as informants, so that eight informants were obtained. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires and documentations. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results of the study illustrate that the constraints faced by librarians of the Hasanuddin University Library when WFH during the COVID-19 pandemic occurred when: the librarian's view of librarian duties was ineffective; the librarian's ability to work from home was not in accordance with the ability to work in an office; there is no motivation to work at home because the librarian work is supposed to be done offline; the need for facilities and infrastructure is inadequate;and there is no leadership support while working from home. In conclusion, the constraints faced by librarians of Hasanuddin University Library when WFH during the COVID-19 pandemic need to be followed up by providing solutions. The solutions can be made in accordance with the obstacles faced, for example the completeness of facilities and infrastructure and avoiding offline work.

Abstract Purpose Letters of recommendation (LORs) are highly regarded components of pharmacy residency applications, as they provide insight into an applicant’s character and capabilities. In other medical fields, differences in language have been reported for letters written for female and male applicants; however, data on gender differences in LORs for pharmacy residency applications are currently lacking. Methods LORs for applicants to our institution’s postgraduate year 1 pharmacy residency program for the 2019-2020 academic year were extracted and processed by a natural language processing service. Words within 18 categories were identified and counted for each LOR. Total word count was also compared. Results Of the 473 LORs included for analysis, 320 (67.7%) were written for female applicants and 153 (32.3%) were written for male applicants. Approximately two-thirds of all writers were women for both female and male applicants. In comparing letters for women and men, there was a statistically significant difference in the percentage of LORs that contained terms in categories described as gendered, solitary/reserved, and desire. There was no statistically significant difference in total word count or in the presence of words in other categories such as grindstone, standout, agentic, or communal. When controlling for grade point average, writer gender, duration that the writer knew the applicant, and the writer’s professional position, there were no changes to the statistical findings. Conclusion Letters written for female and male applicants were largely similar with regard to length and word categories utilized. While no clear gender bias was found when evaluating pharmacy residency LORs, writers must continue to assess their implicit biases and how those biases might affect a candidate’s application.

AbstractAn increasing number of firms introduce service robots, such as physical robots and virtual chatbots, to provide services to customers. While some firms use robots that resemble human beings by looking and acting humanlike to increase customers’ use intention of this technology, others employ machinelike robots to avoid uncanny valley effects, assuming that very humanlike robots may induce feelings of eeriness. There is no consensus in the service literature regarding whether customers’ anthropomorphism of robots facilitates or constrains their use intention. The present meta-analysis synthesizes data from 11,053 individuals interacting with service robots reported in 108 independent samples. The study synthesizes previous research to clarify this issue and enhance understanding of the construct. We develop a comprehensive model to investigate relationships between anthropomorphism and its antecedents and consequences. Customer traits and predispositions (e.g., computer anxiety), sociodemographics (e.g., gender), and robot design features (e.g., physical, nonphysical) are identified as triggers of anthropomorphism. Robot characteristics (e.g., intelligence) and functional characteristics (e.g., usefulness) are identified as important mediators, although relational characteristics (e.g., rapport) receive less support as mediators. The findings clarify contextual circumstances in which anthropomorphism impacts customer intention to use a robot. The moderator analysis indicates that the impact depends on robot type (i.e., robot gender) and service type (i.e., possession-processing service, mental stimulus-processing service). Based on these findings, we develop a comprehensive agenda for future research on service robots in marketing.
