Intraoperative management of refractory small bowel gastrointestinal bleeding continues to present challenges to surgeons, specifically, in localizing the source of bleeding. The need for operative intervention has decreased significantly with improved percutaneous radiologic techniques for embolization with good success rates. When percutaneous treatment methods fail, the surgeon is left with a variety of suboptimal options for localization if the pathologic source is not obvious on external inspection of the small bowel. This report describes a novel method for localizing small bowel gastrointestinal bleeding in those patients who have had previous coil embolization attempts at controlling small bowel gastrointestinal bleeding.

The first volume of the textbook shows the features of the layout of marine diesel engines, the composition of the external inspection and control of their work, the designs of components and parts of the frames that affect their working conditions and methods of maintenance and repair. Recommendations on the frequency of regulated work and possible malfunctions are given. With examples from ship practice, the methods of disassembly-assembly, defection and repair of the main components and parts of the framework are considered. The following volumes show the design features, provide recommendations on the frequency of regulated work and maintenance and repair of other components and parts of marine diesel engines. It is intended for students of higher educational institutions in the specialty "Operation of marine power plants" and university teachers. It may be useful for ship mechanics.

Recommendations for external inspection of boilers, control and maintenance in action are given. With examples from ship practice, the main methods of cleaning, defecation and repair of heating surfaces and other parts of various types of boilers are considered. Analisis risiko merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam dunia industri baik itu industri manufaktur, power plant, petrokimia, obat-obatan dan tidak terkecuali dengan industri minyak dan gas bumi karena hal tersebut berkaitan dengan keselamatan dan keamanan. Dalam penelitian ini suatu analisis risiko telah lakukan pada suatu bejana tekan (pressure vessel) yang difungsikan sebagai LPG Storage Tank berkapasitas 50 Ton dan telah dipergunakan selama 10 tahun, tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi terkini dari kondisi terbaru dari LPG Storage Tank tersebut yaitu berupa tingkat risiko, sisa umur, interval inspeksi, metode inspeksi yang tepat, serta mitigasi risiko yang diperlukan dari penggunaan LPG Storage Tank  jika mengalami kegagalan. Analisis secara keseluruhan menggunakan metode Risk Based Inspection (RBI) yang mengacu pada metodologi RBI pada API RP 581. Dalam analisis RBI terdapat 2 variabel utama yang dijadikan pokok dalam proses analisis yaitu kemungkinan terjadi nya kegagalan (Probability of Failure-POF) dan konsekuensi kegagalan (consequences of failure–COF) selain itu dalam penelitian ini menggunakan visual inspection, NDT UT Measurement, dan review document. Dari penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat risiko dari LPG Storage Tank dalam risk matrix adalah medium-high karena terletak di kolom 1E pada matriks risiko dengan interval inspeksi adalah 5 tahun untuk internal & external inspection dan nilai laju korosi yang terjadi pada LPG Storage Tank adalah sebesar 0,057 mm/yr dengan sisa umur pakai dari LPG Storage Tank adalah sebesar 24 tahun.

AbstractIn this report, the authors provide a contribution of PMCT in assessing the cause of death due to natural disasters. Here, the PMCT findings of 43 subjects who died during both landslide and flood were described. The post-mortem imaging revealed, clearly, traumatic injuries and/or the presence of foreign material in airways allowing to assess the cause of death of each subject, together with external inspection and the collected circumstantial data. Particularly, the PMCT has been helpful for characterization and localization of the clogging substance in airways providing findings on bronchial branches involvement. Moreover, the investigation offered detailed data on skeletal injuries in all anatomic districts and put in evidence both the precise fracturing site and the characteristics of fracture stubs for each bone fracture. This report supports the recommendation of the virtual autopsy in a case with several victims, as in natural disasters, and its role as an alternative diagnostic investigation when the standard autopsy is not feasible.

The release and retrieval of a CubeSat from a big spacecraft is useful for the external inspection and monitoring of the big spacecraft. However, docking maneuvers during the retrieval are challenging since safety constraints and high performance must be achieved, considering the small dimensions and the actual small satellites technology. The trajectory control is crucial to have a soft, accurate, quick, and propellant saving docking. The present paper deals with the design of a tracking model predictive controller (TMPC) tuned to achieve the stringent docking requirements for the retrieval of a CubeSat within the cargo bay of a large cooperative vehicle. The performance of the TMPC is verified using a complex model that includes non-linearities, uncertainties of the CubeSat parameters, and environmental disturbances. Moreover, 300 Monte Carlo runs demonstrate the robustness of the TMPC solution.

Fossil fuel power plants are complex systems containing multiple components that require periodic health monitoring. Failures in these systems can lead to increased downtime for the plant, reduction of power, and significant cost for repairs. Inspections of the plant’s superheater tubes are typically manual, laborious, and extremely time-consuming. This is due to their small diameter size (between 1.3 and 7.6 cm) and the coiled structure of the tubing. In addition, the tubes are often stacked close to each other, limiting access for external inspection. This paper presents the development and testing of an electrically powered pipe crawler that can navigate inside 5 cm diameter tubes and provide an assessment of their health. The crawler utilizes peristaltic motion within the tubes via interconnected modules for gripping and extending. The modular nature of the system allows it to traverse through straight sections and multiple 90° and 180° bends. Additional modules in the system include an ultrasonic sensor for tube thickness measurements, as well as environmental sensors, a light detecting and ranging (LiDAR) sensor, and camera. These modules utilize a gear system that allows for 360° rotation and provides a means to inspect the entire internal circumference of the tubes.

Abstract: Violence against women and children still occurs in Indonesia. Some of them resulted in serious injuries and deaths. We reported a 13-year-old woman found dead in a well after missing for two days. The victim was buried immediately by the family after being found since there was no suspicion of homicide. Albeit, the police investigation developed into a homicide suspicion, therefore, an exhumation was carried out seven days after the death. There was no sign of violence on external inspection. Internal examination revealed bruising on the right cranium, reddened right brain tissue, and incomplete fracture at the base of the right cranium confirmed as intravital injury by microscopic examination. The pulmonary diatom examination showed negative result, therefore, the victim was pronounced dead before being put into the well. Spermatozoa’s heads were found on the vaginal swab microscopic examination. In conclusion, the cause of death was a blunt trauma to the head by homicide. The victim died more than 24 hours from the time of examination.Keywords: violence against woman; advantage of exhumationAbstrak: Kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak masih banyak terjadi di Indonesia. Beberapa di antaranya berakibat luka berat dan kematian. Seorang perempuan berusia 13 tahun ditemukan meninggal di dalam sumur setelah dinyatakan hilang selama 2 hari. Korban awalnya diduga meninggal karena bunuh diri. Korban dimakamkan segera oleh keluarga setelah ditemukan dan tidak ada kecurigaan pembunuhan. Penyidikan oleh polisi berkembang menjadi dugaan pembunuhan, sehingga dilakukan ekshumasi pada tujuh hari pasca kematian. Tidak terdapat tanda kekerasan pada pemeriksaan luar. Pemeriksaan dalam menunjukkan memar pada cranium sebelah kanan, jaringan otak sebelah kanan yang berwarna lebih merah dan retak pada basis cranii bagian kanan dan dikonfirmasi sebagai luka intravital melalui pemeriksaan mikroskopik. Pemeriksaan diatom paru menunjukkan hasil negatif sehingga korban dinyatakan meninggal sebelum dimasukkan ke dalam sumur. Pada pemeriksaan swab vagina didapatkan adanya kepala spermatozoa. Simpulan laporan kasus ini ialah sebab kematian korban oleh trauma tumpul pada kepala dengan cara dibunuh. Jenazah meninggal lebih dari 24 jam dari saat pemeriksaan.Kata kunci: kekerasan terhadap perempuan; manfaat ekshumasi

The sequence of carrying out of researches of tires of a freight vehicle on the basis of expert practice is considered. The research of tires of a truck has been conducted, an example of an expert research of tires is resulted, as a result of which the causes of damage of tires were established. The tire connects the vehicle to the road, perceives its weight, braking effort and dynamic impact that arises due to the roughness of the road surface. It is not uncommon for the vehicle to operate even on roads with a satisfactory road surface and damage to the tires. Damage to the tires can be generated as a result of industrial damage (factory defect) and as a result of operational damage. The most common and serious cause of premature wear and damage to tires is non-compliance with the established air pressure norms and overload tires. Changing the configuration of the profile and increasing the deformation of the bus cause an increase in the voltage in its material. As a result, it increases its premature wear. At increased load (overload) the tension voltage in the places of contact of the tire with the road increases and its specific pressure on the road, from which the tread wears away more quickly. Overvoltage in the material and increase in deformation is accompanied by a general increase in friction and heat formation in the tire. In the course of the research it was established that the tires Satoya SD 062-III have operational damage, the detects damage to the tires was formed as a result of their operation, which could contribute to vehicle overload, non compliance with tire pressure and the movement of the vehicle on roads with improper road surface. External inspection the examination of Satoya SD 062-III tires showed no signs of industrial damage (factory defects).
