The performance of clean sawing was determined during the bucking of aspen samples using a STIHL MSA 220 battery saw with a removable AP 300S battery. In accordance with the planning of the experiment, data were obtained on the average time of cutting tsr with the fixation of the average diameter of the cut Dsr. After processing the results of the experiment, the values of the average productivity of pure sawn Ppp were obtained. The AP 300S battery was used as a power source. As a result of calculations, for uninterrupted operation during a 7-hour work shift, the worker will need 4 charged batteries. For more efficient work, it is proposed to use modern backpack batteries, which are installed in a special orthopedic vest with shoulder and waist fixation on the employee’s back. Based on the results of their own research, the authors proposed an alternative source of electric current in the conditions of a forest workshop site. As a priority for the conditions of the Urals, we can recommend solar panels or thermal generators operating on the basis of the Peltier principle. An energy heat column equipped with electronic thermogenerators can be recommended as the most effective charger for restoring the operability of batteries.

Abstract Motivating employees with different characteristics has a significant effect on company performance. This paper models the relationship between employer and heterogeneous employees working in pairs as a principal-agent problem. Every worker can encounter moral hazard with regard to the stimulation of the employer and the efficient work of co-workers. Employee behavior describes a reaction function based on which the equilibrium of appropriate pairs of employees and their overall effective performance is described. The employer determines the optimal stimulation that minimizes the expected average cost of effective work for each individual group of employees. The total expected average cost of efficient work of the entire company in the short run depends on the distribution of employees with different characteristics. How the attitude of employees towards work in the long run changes is described by replicative dynamics and shows that the stability of the employee population is achieved in two cases where the long-run total expected average cost of efficient work is differentiated by approximately eight percent. This paper describes a new conceptual framework for quantitative analysis of the effects of motivation on the short and long run financial results of an enterprise.

Introduction: Epidemics lead to an increase in occupational stress and psychological strain among healthcare workers. However, the impact of a pandemic outbreak on healthcare systems is yet to be clearly defined. Therefore, this work aims to describe and analyze specific areas of workload among different groups of healthcare workers during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A sample of N = 8088 persons working in the German-speaking healthcare sector participated in the VOICE/egePan online survey, which addressed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during the second quarter of 2020. We used 15 self-constructed items, based on the work of Matsuishi et al. (2012), to identify potential COVID-19-specific topics. Results: N = 7542 records of healthcare workers were analyzed. Of these, 60.80% reported, retrospectively, an increase in stress since the outbreak of the pandemic. Problem areas tended to be indicated more frequently by the women surveyed than by the men. Nurses, paramedics and medical technicians reported the highest fear of infecting others while physicians reported the highest fear of physical or mental exhaustion. With respect to age, older respondents indicated less fear and felt more protected. Men and people living alone were more likely to use dysfunctional coping strategies. Migrants reported a higher fear of becoming infected or infecting others as well as they reported about increased levels of smoking. Discussion: Retrospectively, the COVID-19 pandemic led to an increase in stress among healthcare workers. Problem areas have different focuses with regard to different living situations, environmental conditions and professions. In order to lay the best basis for healthy and efficient work, it seems necessary to take measures especially tailored to the needs of different groups of healthcare workers.

AbstractThe development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies continues to advance. To fully exploit the potential, it is important to deal with the topics of human factors and ergonomics, so that a smooth implementation of AI applications can be realized. In order to map the current state of research in this area, three systematic literature reviews with different focuses were conducted. The seven observation levels of work processes according to Luczak and Volpert (1987) served as a basis. Overall n = 237 sources were found and analyzed. It can be seen that the research critically deals with human-centered, effective as well as efficient work in relation to AI. Research gaps, for example in the areas of corporate education concepts and participation and voice, identify further needs in research. The author postulates not to miss the transition between forecasts and verifiable facts.

This paper presents the rationale of the continuous improvement (CI) system to be applied for the small-scale jewellery industry in the state of Kelantan State of Malaysia. The manufacturer’s inefficiency during the fabrication process directly contributes to the potentially lost gold in scrap (waste) form that would eventually affect the producer's profit margin and may lead to a compromised quality of end products. Hence, the adoption of appropriate quality management applications and good practices are key to enhance business and operational efficiency towards sustainability of gold scrap and waste handling that may lead to potential economic loss. Physical fitness is a major factor affecting firefighters’ ability to perform under harsh circumstances. This study aimed to investigate the importance of considering a physical fitness program for firefighters and determine whether such a program should be mandated to create a safe and efficient work environment. A survey was conducted to observe the existing fitness program impacts on firefighters’ fitness level, their satisfaction with the program, and their opinion upon mandating the program. The study showed that firefighters’ fitness levels differed significantly depending on whether the firefighters were subjected to a fitness program or not. The majority (73%) of the respondents support mandating a physical fitness program and encouraged such a program to be included in a school degree plan. However, more than half of the participants (57%), evaluated their fitness program as inaccurate. Hence, fitness program components must be thoroughly structured to enhance the program competency. Recommendations from the respondents were focused on facilitating Civil Defense Centers with gyms, proper gymnastic equipment, and professional trainers.

The aim of this study was to examine and improve the support provided to children with intellectual disabilities in Montenegro. We conducted a qualitative examination to a) determine existing practices, b) analyse the needs of teaching staff and children with intellectual disabilities, c) examine the knowledge and skills required by teachers to support these children, and d) propose relevant recommendations to improve the support provided to these children. The findings of the focus groups indicate that the greatest challenge faced by teachers during the process of teaching is the Montenegrin language and foreign languages in relation to the additional engagement required in the preparation and adaptation of didactic material. Areas of work that have been recognized as crucial for the education of pupils are socialisation, graphomotor skills, and literacy. For the effective planning and realization of teaching, teachers prefer to have a description of the child, the way in which the child works and learns, the child’s interests, needs, and possibilities for learning, as well as their ability to interact socially and maintain relationships with peers. The recommendations are as follows: instead of tagging a child based on the coefficient of intelligence, a functional description of a child should be used; the teaching process and the environment can be adapted based on the child’s needs; a list of situations and characteristics of the process with instructions or ideas for action can be defined; and individualized teaching and didactic material can be developed. The implementation of these recommendations should be monitored through coaching. The topics of training that the teachers believe are useful for professional development and efficient work are developing the educational characteristics and needs of these children, designing and using special teaching and didactic materials, applying assistive technology, mastering basic skills, cooperating with parents, and coaching.
