The paper presents a special clamp with high precision used in fixing plastic parts on the lower mold of laminating tools or in prefixing devices. In most of cases in laminating tools is known that to fix a plastic part, in order to be covered with leather, on a heat lower laminating tool with suction cups is not a good idea because of high temperatures and additional systems needs. In solving this aspect was designed a pneumatic clamp with a special nose which fixed the plastic part with high precision. To achieve good results, the design was thoroughly checked in a software platform like COMSOL Multiphysics in terms of temperature and pressure. In this paper are also presented the main steps design, the results of clash assembly analysis, the results of temperature analysis and the results of pressure analysis.

A method of determining the connection force between crop roots and soil was developed. A TG-1 tensile testing device was designed which consisted of an activities tripod platform, a screw mechanism, a special clamp and sensor-signal processing system. The force transferred to the screw mechanism with the help of a hand wheel was only 1/97 of the maximum connection force between crop roots and soil. The clamp used self-locking structure, and it could clamp most of the crop stalks with different diameters. Take the maximum connection force as the measurand for the connection force between crop roots and soil. Using the TG-1 tensile testing device, experiments were carried out on oilseed rape. The results showed connection force between oilseed rape roots and soil ranged from 36N to 237N. The proportion of the force between 100 and 150N was the most, taking up 45.5%.

Combined with numerical simulation, a radial-directional dynamic tensile experimental method was proposed based on conventional split Hopkinson tensile bar(SHTB) for a thin-walled tube structure with special ring section. A special clamp was designed and a hollow transmission bar was used to magnify the transmission signals. For the stainless steel thin-walled tube structure, some dynamic tensile experiments are implemented under different strain rates. The results show that this test method is applicable to thin-walled tube structure with special ring section. This structure has a long plastic stage and its fracture strain is reduced with strain rate increasing. Moreover, its tensile strength is obviously enhanced with strain rate increasing

A special clamp for fatigue of shaft under bending-torsion that used on the fatigue machine is designed and manufactured. For the medium carbon steel, the low-cycle fatigue experiments of shaft with annular notch under bending-torsion have been made on Shimadzu EHF-EM100kN high-frequency electro-hydraulic fatigue testing machine. Through experiments and analysis, the effects of tip radius, depth and open angle of notch on low cycle fatigue life of shaft with annular notch under bending-torsion are obtained. The method and results will play an important role on the fatigue life prediction and anti-fatigue design.

The cutting force in manufacture process was observed with Kistler dynamometer. A special clamp was designed to simulate the real condition of blade cutting. Series of experiments were done. Cutting force reflected structure of the blade and movement of machine. Cutting force was changed with feed speed varied and the rotation of axis B & C. Resultant cutting force was uniform in back and basin of blade and increased with cutting speed went up. Resultant force was waved in edge of blade. Back and basin forces were lager than edge force in X direction. Force X invoked vibration.

For spherical rotor of gyroscope and some other high speed rotor, static balance is important. The paper introduces a static balance method for spherical rotor: the position of the spherical rotor is fixed by the use of the special clamp apparatus, and then determines the unbalance mass using the electronic balance. This method has no strict requirement to the clamp’s symmetry and dimension and locating precision of the locating hole. The balance precision only depends on the precision of the electronic balance and shape error of the clamp’s locating surface, which makes the balance method has high precision and preferable operability.

Ceramic plunger couple are appreciated by engine designer thanks to its high performances such as anticorrosion and wearproof, however which are restricted due to machining difficulty. This article will discuss the feasibility of replacing metal material with silicon nitride ceramics in plunger coupler manufacturing through analysis on change law of stress and displacement of 12150L diesel engine plunger coupler at rated condition, design and develop special clamp for intractable spiral line and oil-out trough, and with satisfactory machining effect.
