Abstract In this article, I discuss a collaborative research project with two urban cohousing communities: Kankanmori, in Tokyo, and Quayside Village, in North Vancouver. The project focused on the joint production of the good life in the two communities, both of which situate well-being as simultaneously social and subjective, thus expanding beyond mainstream approaches to happiness narrowly focused on the individual. In what follows, I describe the particular forms that collaboration took over the course of the six-year project and then provide a brief overview of the positive contributions cohousing can make to social and environmental sustainability.

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to study and analyze the transnationalization of agriculture in relation to the agri-food sector of the EAEU countries. Scientific novelty. The developed conceptual framework for managing the transnationalization of agriculture will ensure equivalent shares in the structure of the common market for the EAEU members, intensify the processes of establishing business communication and joint production activities that will improve the situation on the labor market in the agricultural sector, accelerate the implementation of investment projects, carry out R&D aimed at improvement of the economic situation in the industry. Methods. Research based on a systematic approach to the studied objects and processes. In course of the work, economic-mathematical, normative, abstract-logical, monographic, expert and other methods of economic research were used. Theoretical and methodological basis of the research was scientific works, developments and recommendations of domestic and foreign scientists-economists on the problems of forecasting and planning, legislative acts, program documents and government resolutions on the effective and sustainable development of agricultural formations. The formation of the research information base was carried out on the basis of statistical data on the dynamics of agricultural indicators published in official statistical publications and yearbooks, on official websites of information Internet resources for 1998–2020. Results. The studies made it possible to identify factors in the development of agriculture in the context of transnationalization, taking into account the problems of integration of countries in the EAEU space, to establish the dependence of the development of the industry on an effective program of adaptation of organizations to new economic conditions, which should take into account a complex of political, economic and other factors affecting the efficiency of activities.

Abstract The quality of the welded joint, production and chemical composition of welding fume particles in the MMAW process, in addition to the welding parameters, mostly depend on the quality of the coated electrode. As part of the preliminary experimental research of the optimal technological composition of the electrode coating, from the aspect of minimizing welding fume, an experimental research of one class of electrodes, E 42 4 B 32 H5, EN 499/94, standard production program of three manufacturers of welding consumables. The test was performed to examine the influence of the manufacturer’s recipe on the production and chemical composition of welding fume particles.

In order to reduce the loss of heat saving in the thermal engine, improve energy utilization efficiency. This paper uses EBSILON simulation software to establish models and perform changes to the working condition, and the comparison of design values on the thermal balance graph. The results show that this method is applicable to the calculation of the thermoelectric gauge. At different heat supply and exhaust flow and the ambient temperature, the heat transfer characteristics of the unit is constantly changed. When the ambient temperature is less than 15∘C, the combined circulation thermal consumption rate is negative and the ambient temperature is negative, and the ambient temperature is higher than 15∘C time is positively correlated. When the heating capacity is greater than 300 gj/h, the combined cycle efficiency of the unit at the same heating rate is higher than the 100% load rate. Conclusion: the EBSILON simulation software is reliable.

Severe problems accompany the production of abnormal oils with high pour point (with a paraffin content of over 30% by weight) in Kraynego Severa, Russia, due to the intensive formation of asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD) in the bottom hole zone of the productive formation and downhole equipment. Possessing many advantages, the existing methods and technologies for coping with ARPD cannot fully solve this problem. As a result, complications arising from the production of high-wax oils lead to a significant decrease in oil production, a reduction in the production wells' maintenance and intertreatment periods, and an increase in dewaxing unit operating costs. The obtained results of theoretical and laboratory studies show that one of the promising approaches to improve the efficiency of wells equipped with electric submersible pumps when exploitation of abnormal oils with high pour point from multilayer deposits of the Timan-Pechora oil and gas province is the use of the new integrated technology based on the joint production of abnormal oil with high pour point with the oil, characterized by a lower wax content and the manifestation of structural and mechanical properties, in conjunction with regulating the parameters of the electric submersible pump. In this paper, the authors also describe a promising scheme of downhole equipment for the simultaneous-separate production of high-wax oil from multilayer deposits. The proposed downhole equipment allows us to separate the perforation zones of two productive formations using a packer-anchor system during simultaneous-separate exploitation of the formations by a double electric submersible pump installation.

Bioethanol production has increased in demand as a replacement for conventional fuels. This work studies the use of apple pomace, which corresponds to 45% (w/w) of dehydrated apple production, as a reliable and inexpensive source for bioethanol production. Additionally, the vinasse obtained from the process as a byproduct is analyzed. Apple pomace has important properties for energy purposes, with high soluble sugar (6%–8%), organic compounds and low protein content. The carbohydrates were consumed in 99.3% in 144 h at a temperature of 30 °C and in a yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (YSC) concentration of 0.10 g/L. The bioethanol purity produced, 99.5% (v/v), was quantified by gas chromatography and calorific value (23.21 MJ/kg). This high purity, which fulfills the EN 15376, ASTM D 4806 Standard, allows its use as a fuel and oil additive. Moreover, it can be stated that vinasse obtained from alcohol distillation is a compound that has physicochemical values like other vinasses. Finally, Chile, as the most important exporting country of dehydrated apples in the world, has great potential to take advantage of the use of this raw material for bioethanol and vinasse production.

In the post-war years, to the 1970s, most historians’ verdict on the Second World War was abundantly clear: it represented a watershed in social and political relations, shifting Britain in a social-democratic and more egalitarian direction. In more recent years, this verdict has increasingly been called into question. Some historians began to judge the war’s results, especially in terms of the flattening of social and gender hierarchies, to have been considerably exaggerated. Geoffrey G. Field has produced a sizeable, detailed and well-produced work which reaffirms the judgements of the ‘war as dramatic watershed’ school. He synthesizes much of the work on British society and the working class in the Second World War, interspersed with analysis of the vast holdings of The National Archives, the Mass Observation Archive, as well as film and literary sources. This review focuses on industrial relations, particularly the arms industries: where unionization, collective bargaining and workplace union organization were transformed. Joint production committees, however, proved ephemeral.

Indonesia-Turkey defense diplomacy which aims to achieve self-sufficiency in defense equipment has resulted in the joint production of a medium tank called the Harimau or Kaplan. Each country requires a medium tank because this type of tank can operate in various geographical conditions found in Indonesia and Turkey. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that contribute to the realization of joint production of tanks through the implementation of defense diplomacy strategies. Data were obtained through interviews with former Indonesian defense ministers for the period 2009-2014 as well as from the defense industry. In addition, secondary data was obtained from search results of official documents, official websites, and journals. Then the results of the interviews were analyzed descriptively. From this research, the factors that influence the cooperation between Indonesia and Turkey are obtained, namely the principle of equality, the principle of mutual trust and need, and the principle of business. In addition, Indonesia's defense diplomacy strategy is in the alignment of domestic and foreign defense policies, assessments, and maximizing the concepts of Government to Government (G to G) and Business to Business (B to B).
