Increasing the removal efficiency of impurities during non-equilibrium solidification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloy remains a great challenge for the upgrading of metallurgical silicon (MG-Si) to solar grade Si (SOG-Si). Hence, a manageable method was provided to enhance the segregation behavior of impurities at the interface front of primary Si/Al-Si melt by introducing a rotating magnetic field (RMF) in the present work. Experimental results showed that electromagnetic stirring can improve the removal efficiency of impurities while achieving the separation of primary Si. The apparent segregation coefficients of the major impurities Fe, Ti, Ca, Cu, B and P were reduced to 7.5 × 10−4, 4.6 × 10−3, 7.9 × 10−3, 3.5 × 10−3, 0.1 and 0.16, respectively, under RMF of 25 mT and cooling rate of 2.5 °C/min. We confirmed that improving the transport driving force of impurities in the growth interface front of primary Si is an effective way to improve the segregation behavior of impurities, which would bring us one step closer to exploiting the economic potential of the Al-Si alloy solidification refining.

The Mediterranean diet is considered one of the most worldwide healthy dietary patterns thanks to a combination of foods rich mainly in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. Many studies have demonstrated a strong and inverse relationship between a high level of Mediterranean diet adherence and some chronic diseases (such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.) and cancer. Given its protective effects in reducing oxidative and inflammatory processes of cells and avoiding DNA damages, cell proliferation, and their survival, angiogenesis, inflammations and metastasis, the Mediterranean diet is considered a powerful and manageable method to fight cancer incidence. The aim of this narrative review was to determine the magnitude of interaction between the Mediterranean diet and more widespread types of cancer so as to give a first and useful overview on this relationship identifying, with a nutritional approach, those nutrients of Mediterranean diet able to reduce cancer incidence.

Teaching with cases, especially at universities where cases are not a regular part of the curriculum, poses challenges for both faculty and students. The results in this research present an effective and manageable method to introduce the case analysis process and to facilitate written case analysis for both students and faculty. Experiment 1 compares the effectiveness of a semistructured one-page written case analysis over a traditional case analysis and finds the shorter assignment results in shorter grading time and better student grades. A two-case method introducing the case analysis process is tested in Experiment 2 and finds that a short lecture introducing the case analysis method and an initial small group practice case further improves student grades. Theoretical reasoning and directions for future research are discussed.

The fractional derivatives in the sense of the modified Riemann-Liouville derivative and Feng’s first integral method are employed to obtain the exact solutions of the nonlinear space-time fractional ZKBBM equation and the nonlinear space-time fractional generalized Fisher equation. The power of this manageable method is presented by applying it to the above equations. Our approach provides first integrals in polynomial form with high accuracy. Exact analytical solutions are obtained through establishing first integrals. The present method is efficient and reliable, and it can be used as an alternative to establish new solutions of different types of fractional differential equations applied in mathematical physics.

AbstractIn this paper, we develop an accurate and efficient Legendre wavelets method for numerical solution of the well known time-fractional telegraph equation. In the proposed method we have employed both of the operational matrices of fractional integration and differentiation to get numerical solution of the time-telegraph equation. The power of this manageable method is confirmed. Moreover the use of Legendre wavelet is found to be accurate, simple and fast.

This paper describes a traveling wave model for describing the lightning stroke by the Haar wavelet method (HWM) is proposed. Numerical example is included and illustrated for applicability and validity of the proposed method. The fundamental idea of Haar wavelet method is to convert the differential equations into a group of algebraic equations that involves a finite number of variables. The power of the manageable method is confirmed. The results show that the proposed way is quite reasonable when compared to exact solution. Moreover the use of Haar wavelets is found to be accurate, simple, fast, flexible, convenient, small computation costs and computationally attractive.

By using the first integral method, the traveling wave solutions for the generalized Pochhammer-Chree (PC) equations are constructed. The obtained results include complex exponential function solutions, complex traveling solitary wave solutions, complex periodic wave solutions, and complex rational function solutions. The power of this manageable method is confirmed.
