INFORMATION ACTIVITIES OF THE LIBRARY N.A. D. NOVIKOV IN ASSISTING EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC PROCESSES AT THE BELARUSIAN STATE AGRICULTURAL ACADEMY

The article considers the importance and capabilities of information and communication technologies in the educational and scientific processes of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (BSAA) and which are used in the work of the BSAA library named after D.Novikov. Their effectiveness and demand among library users have been analyzed on the example of statistical data.

FROM AN IDEA TO IMPLEMENTATION: CREATING AN EXHIBITION DISPLAY AT THE BELARUS AGRICULTURAL LIBRARY

The article presents the experience of the Belarus Agricultural Library in creating an exhibition display dedicated to its 60th anniversary. The main activities on the search for exhibits are outlined. The main techniques for documenting the material selected for the display and its storage are described. Additional directions of further work are indicated.

INFORMATION AND RESOURCE SUPPORT OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN THE NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AGRICULTURAL LIBRARY OF THE NAAS

The article covers the theoretical statements of resource support of scientific activity of a library. System of information and resource support of scientific research in the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the NAAS (NSAL NAAS) was analyzed. The study justified its influence on the results and quality of scientific research in the context of further modernization of the information and resource base of agricultural science, as well as the importance of creating an effective system of resource support of scientific research. The resources for effective support of scientific research and informing specialists and scientists in the agricultural field were presented. It was determined that the achievement of the expected results can be provided under the condition of formation of the system (mechanism) for management of the institution resource support.

PROMOTION OF AGRARIAN SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS THROUGH THE «PORTAL OF PUBLICATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRARIAN SCIENCES OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF BELARUS»

Most agricultural periodicals do not adhere to recommendations for the design of a scientific journal recognized by world standards, and do not have adequate information platforms for interacting with both search engines and international citation indices. On June 5, 2020 State Institution “I.S. Lupinovich Belarus Agricultural Library” of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was appointed the executor of generation and filling the “Portal of publications of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”. The portal will consist of two elements. The first element is the portal itself, which will provide unified information about the new, most cited and viewed articles on agricultural topics, agricultural science news and will have a single search line for all materials posted on the portal. The second element is completely self-contained scientific journal sites. Each of the journals included in the project will receive its own separate site, which will fully comply with modern scientific publishing practices and the requirements of international scientific databases. The “Portal of the publications of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” and the sites of the journals will be developed in conjunction with the system of comprehensive support and support of the scientific journal “Elpub” Non-for-profit partnership “National Electronic Information Consortium”. The library has signed an agreement on cooperation with four organizations of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to provide materials published in their journals for filling the portal and sites. The implementation of this project will serve as a foundation for the future entry of Belarusian scientific agricultural journals into international scientific databases and will help to acquaint the world scientific community with the developments of Belarusian agrarian scientists.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IDEAS OF «GREEN» LIBRARIES IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE BELARUS AGRICULTURAL LIBRARY

The article shows the way the Belarus Agricultural Library (BelAL) has been following the ideas of «green libraries»: it describes environmentally friendly practices implemented in the library over the past years; particular attention is paid to the ongoing work of the Green Office Belarus Agricultural Library (GO!BelAL); the authors outlined the prospects for the development of the library in promoting the goals of sustainable development and environmental awareness.

LIBRARIES OF SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UKRAINE IN THE CONDITIONS OF DIGITALIZATION

The priority for the national library and information industry is to unite the efforts of the professional community in the formation of an integrated national information environment. Using of integrated information resources leads to improved quality of products and services; effective implementation of innovations leads to economic benefits, contributes to the development of the national cultural space. At the present stage, the only way for the libraries of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to be active is the introduction of information technologies and the creation of telecommunication environment, which significantly expands the traditional library activity.

LINGUISTIC TOOLS FOR INDEXING OF REGIONAL EDITIONS AND REPRESENTATION OF A SEARCH PATTERN OF DOCUMENTS ABOUT BELARUS IN THE ELECTRONIC CATALOGUE OF THE CENTRAL SCIENCE LIBRARY OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF BELARUS

The publication outlines the experience of Yakub Kolas Central Science Library of the NAS of Belarus on formation of a search pattern of documents covering information about regional history and Belarusian studies in order to realize subject searching in the library electronic catalogue. Some indexing tools based on the Universal Decimal Classification and authority records are considered.

DIGITAL CONTENT OF PERIODICALS IN THE ELECTRONIC CATALOGUE OF THE CENTRAL SCIENCE LIBRARY OF THE NAS OF BELARUS

The publication deals with the initial stages of inclusion into the electronic catalogue of bibliographic records of electronic periodicals from eLIBRARY.RU platform and electronic serials which have been subscribed by the Central Science Library of the NAS of Belarus. The activities on addition of full text documents and tables of contents of periodicals into bibliographic records have been considered.

TO ANALYSIS OF TENDENCIES OF THE COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT OF THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY WITH DOCUMENTS STORED ON PHYSICAL OBJECTS

The authors present an analysis of acquisition sources for the collection development of the Central Science Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with printed documents for the years 2000–2019, their arrangement by language and subject areas.

REPUBLICAN LIBRARY FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (RLST) IN THE TIME OF PANDEMIC: NEW CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT

The author reviewed the project activities of the RLST, in the time of pandemic. Also, interactive projects aroused heightened interest among online users, are presented.
