The paper is a modificationofNguyen and Revol‟s method for the solution set to the linear interval system. The presented methoddoes not require solving Kahan‟s arithmetic which may be a hindrance to that of Nguyen and Revol‟s method as Nguyen and Revol‟s method relies mainly on interval data inputs. Our method under consideration first advances solutionusing real floating point LU Factorization to the real point linear system and then solves a preconditioned residual linear interval system for the error term by incorporating Rohn‟s method which does not make use of interval data inputs wherein, the use of united solution set in the sense of Shary comes in handy as a tool for bounding solution for the linear interval system. Special attention is paid to the regularity of the preconditioned interval matrix. Numerical exampleis used to illustrate the algorithm and remarks are made based on the strength of our findings.KEY WORDS:refinement of solution, linear interval system, Rohn‟s method, Hansen-Bliek-Rohnmethod, preconditioned residual linear interval iteration, kahan‟s arithmetic

We prove that the Implicit Iteration process of Xu and Ori (2001) converges strongly to the commonfixed pointsof a finite family of Ø - demicontractive mappings in real Hilbertand Banachspaces. Our results extend the results of Osilike (2004a) from strictl pseudocontractive maps to the much more general Ø - demicontractive maps;complement and generalize several others in the literature.KEY WORDS AND PHRASES: Ø - Demicontractive Maps, Implicit Iteration Process, Fixed Points,Strong Convergence.

The maintainability of a manpower system is studied under a Markov framework. The classical method of controlling only one factor of flow is extended to highlight the case in which two factors are under control simultaneously. One special case of this extension, where recruitment of units faces partial embargo, is given, which led to other important results.KEY WORDS: Manpower structure, Maintainability, Factors of flow, Markov model Probability.

This paper examined the relationship between birth weight and head circumference of babies. The ordinary least square method of linear regression analysis and Chi-square test were utilized to achieve its objectives. The hypothesis that birth weight is independent of head circumference; birth weight is independent of sex; and head circumference is independent of sex was rejected at 5 percent level of significance. The result showed that birth weight is dependent on head circumference and sex; and that head circumference depends on sex. Birth weight and head circumference of male babies are higher than that of the female babies. However, female have normal head circumference than male. Moreso, a significant linear positive relationship exists between birth weight and head circumference.

Online examination system is a web-based examination system where examination is taken online i.e. through the internet or intranet using computer system. It is an effective solution for mass education evaluation. We have developed an online examination system based on a Browser/Server framework using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 for the design, C# 3.5 for coding, and Microsoft SQL Server as database. ASP.NET is the preferred web technology. The system carries out the examination and auto-grading for multiple choice questions which is feed into the system.KEY WORDS: Online, Examination, System, Auto-grading, Web-based.

This paper empirically examined the effect of the clearance rate, the unemployment rate, the percentage of females in employment and the percentage of the labour force with tertiary education on Serious Crime in Nigeria for the period 2000-2011. Time-series data from (NBS) National Bureau of statistics and Nigeria police annual reports 2011are used and tests for the existence of a long runcointegration relationship among serious crime, clearance rate and various socio economic indicators is carried out. The cointegration analysis provides strong evidence of the existence of a long-run model. With the normalized coefficients showing a negative effect of the clearance rate, percentage of females in the labourforce and the percentage of the labour force with tertiary education on serious crime, with the exception being the unemployment rate which is found to exert a positive effect.KEYWORDS: Crime, Cointegration, Unit Root, Time-Series.

Healthcare is conventionally regarded as an important determinant in promoting the general health and wellbeing of peoples around the world. And in doing this, health education and information plays a major role, because it is a reliable medium and the most effective way to reduce morbidity and mortality in developing countries. We need to deliver vital messages and information to people at the lower quarter of the society, this information can be used for changing behaviors’ and practices, and this in turn can save and protect lives. It is in this context that the use of mobile phones in delivering vital health information and effective fieldwork reporting is of significance. This project seeks to use the availability of mobile service across the urban and rural areas to benefit healthcare.KEY WORDS: Health Information System; Mobile Health Information System, Medical Information
