Purpose The purpose of this study is to find out: gender, social and emotional factors as obstacles that influence Generation Z in using e-Books. Design/methodology/approach The method in this study is exploratory quantitative research that was conducted by testing the factors that influence the use of e-Books by Generation Z. This study was analyzed using structure equation model, which involves regressions, measuring direct and indirect effects and path analysis. Social influence, emotional attachment and gender are suspected to be a barrier in the use of e-Books by Generation Z. Findings The results of this study indicate that social influence and gender do not affect the use of e-Books, in which only emotional attachment directly affects the preference towards e-Book. Research limitations/implications The limitation of this study is that the sample used is still in Generation Z in Indonesia so that further research can use samples from various countries. Practical implications The results of this study can be used as a consideration for e-Books Publishers to create e-books as readers wish, for example, there is a special sound when opening e-Books, there is an easy feature to give notes in e-Books and features are presented to immediately see the link in the e-Books. Social Implications Generation Z is actually ready to use e-Books for reading activities. However, there are several things that make them consider reading e-Books. what they consider is the ease of use and the usefulness of the E-Books for their daily needs. Therefore, managers of information institutions and information providers in Indonesia can at least consider what genre of e-books collection can be provided and for whom the e-books are intended. Originality/value This research shows that Generation Z in choosing a reading format will be influenced by the intention of using the reading format, whereas the intention is influenced by the attitude in determining the reading format.

The pandemic Covid-19 has been changing tourist behavior to visit a tourism destination. This study aims to investigate tourist’ visit intention after Covid-19 pandemic period in Indonesia by addressing the Covid-19 phenomenon, health consciousness and theory planned behavior framework. To answer hypotheses in this study, Confirmatory Factor Analysis-Structure Equation Model is used with quantitative approach. The research model is examined by SEM-PLS, using SmartPLS-3 software to analyze research framework. The results show that Covid-19 perception had not significantly impacted attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and intention. However, the perception of Covid-19 has a significant impact on non-pharmaceutical intervention, which in turn delivers a significant impact on attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control and visit intention. The hypothesis presumes that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control all have significant impact on intention to visit. In contrast, variable of health consciousness works less impact on intention to visit. This study makes significant contribution to the tourism literature by considering health issue and tourist visit behavior after Covid-19 period in Indonesia. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-SPER-15 Full Text: PDF

In the era of advances in science and technology today, knowledge has an important role for organizations. On the other side, many organizations are faced with knowledge management problems. The development of Knowledge Management is currently the concern of many researchers. One of the elements in Knowledge Management that is considered crucial is the knowledge sharing. Ideal practice of knowledge sharing in an organizational environment will have an impact on individuals. Higher education as a knowledge-based organization has an important function in the creation and dissemination of knowledge. Academics tend to cling to knowledge and are reluctant to spread their intellectual resources. This study examines the effects of organizational commitment as mediation to the effect of organisational trust and knowledge sharing behavior. Sample in the research is 52 lecturers of Economy and Business Faculty, Pattimura University. Collected data then analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics Structure Equation Model using smartLPS 3. The result shows that organizational trust directly affect the knowledge sharing behavior and organizational trust can affects knowledge sharing behavior with mediation of organizational commitment.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate which environmental factors and genetic groups were important in explaining measured activity of Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and bacteria (AOB), which play important roles in global nitrogen cycle, providing a new insight into the mechanism of archaeal and bacterial ammonia oxidation. We sampled 62 soil/sediment samples from coastal wetlands of the Bohai area of China and assessed the abundance of functional genes involved in the nitrogen cycle, soil/sediment characteristics and the potential activity of AOA (PAOA) and AOB (PAOB) using specific inhibitors. At last, we introduced the structure equation model (SEM) to infer direct and indirect effects of variables on potential activities. The results indicated that the change in AOA-amoA gene abundance may be more independent, while AOB-amoA was closely associated with the change in abundance of amx and denitrifier. PAOA was mainly defined by AOA-amoA abundance and partially influenced by the norA gene, suggesting coupling of archaeal ammonia oxidation with nitrite oxidation. PAOB was significantly defined by the abundance of amx and denitrifier, indirectly mediated by AOB-amoA. The activity of AOA seemed to be more independent of other microbial activities, while the activity of AOB varied closely with fluctuations of other microbial species. PAOA was mediated directly by the C/N ratio and indirectly by nitrite concentration and TOC value, while PAOB was mediated directly by ammonium concentration and TOC value and indirectly by C/N ratio. The activity of AOB may be determined by several other functional gene groups and had little correlation with AOB abundance while the activity of AOA was mostly controlled by itself.

In 2018, ethnic minority region of Vietnam has the rate of poor and near-poor households 3.5 times higher than the national average. There are many studies that have pointed out the causes of high poverty in ethnic minority areas and proposed policies to reduce poverty. However, poverty among ethnic minority groups remains an increasing and prolonged challenge. This article applies the structural equation model to consider impacts of socio-economic changes on poverty reduction in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam over the past 5 years, to provide recommendations for poverty reduction policies for ethnic minorities. Research results show that in addition to improving the quality of education, strengthening management and improving the quality of cultural activities, focusing on improving the spiritual significance of cultural activities - festivals - movements and promotion of ethnic minority identity can be the key to poverty reduction in these regions.
