Zoomify Image is a mature product for easily publishing large, high-resolution images on the Web. End users view these images with existing Webbrowser software as quickly as they do normal, downsampled images. A Flash-based Zoomifyer client asynchronously streams image data to the Web browser as needed, resulting in response times approaching those of desktop applications using minimal bandwidth. The author, a librarian at Cornell University and the principal architect of a small, open-source company, worked closely with Zoomify to produce a cross-platform, opensource implementation of that company’s image-processing software and discusses how to easily deploy the product into a widely used Webpublishing environment. Limitations are also discussed as are areas of improvement and alternatives.

Bioinformatics is an emerging area of interest for many researchers and scientists. It has unlimited applications in many areas. The most important application of this is to know about genes, et cetera. But nowadays, research has also started in the emerging areas of network security and threats using bioinformatics. In the present scenario, we are highly dependent on Internet. The Web has invited different people from different backgrounds to work together sitting at far places. And to fulfill the needs of the interested and involved people, lots of Web based tools have been developed, and many others are being developed. In this chapter, the area of bioinformatics has been introduced along with its applications, Web, developed Web based tools, and a case study of one such tool.

A novel growth evaluation system for tobacco planting (GESTP) based on a B/S architecture is introduced in this paper. It mainly consists of three parts: a mobile application (mobile app), a browser terminal and a server terminal. The GESTP system is used to evaluate the growth of tobacco and give farmers planting guidance instead them having to rely on personal judgment. Once the photos of the tobacco leaf and plant are uploaded to the web server via the mobile app or the browser terminal, the application program of the server terminal is called to process the tobacco images with image processing algorithms. The results including the grade of the tobacco growth and planting guidance will be provided to the client within a 2-second timeframe, which greatly help farmers understand the growth of tobacco and take planting measures. The running result indicates that the GESTP system provides an effective and straightforward way to evaluate the growth of tobacco and provides cultivation guidance to tobacco farmers.

One of the major problems in production is that the number of faults occurred while producing a fabric, since it directly influences productivity. To overcome the losses, this paper provides a system with special surveillance to detect the knitting process, identify and locate faults during manufacturing, by inspecting the fabric. The system also gives the user a valuable set of data related with production. This examination has demonstrated that picture handling can possibly give solid estimations to recognizing abandons in sewed textures. On-line texture deformity location was tried consequently by contrasting texture pictures caught by a computerized camera. In this way, it is demonstrated that the created picture catching and investigation framework is equipped for halting the round sewing machine by utilizing processor when a deformity is caught by the web camera.

Relying on powerful image processing capabilities and special parallel peripheral interface which is based on the ADI Corporation Blackfin561 DSP and using advanced H.264 video compression algorithm under the operate system of the uClinux. The implementation scheme of video image monitoring system based on B/S mode is proposed. By running the web boa server under the uClinux on the BF561 platform, the system realizes the video image acquisition, processing and network transmission. The result shows that the client can see the clearer images through the browser and the system meets the requirements of the remote video monitoring.

The proposal of this study, with an exploratory and descriptive approach, was to identify the use of Web Tools 2.0 of production, circulation, sharing, storage and access to electronic health records (RES) by the organisms producers of Health care Services (OPSAS) in Bahia. The immersion of OPSAS in cyberspace requires the competencies of health agents to produce, receive, accumulate, access, use and migrate electronic health records (RES) directed to digital repositories. The adoption of the Web 2.0 philosophy allows the expansion of the OPSAS relationship with health agents and stakeholders and extends to the participation of citizens. As a result of this research, from a questionnaire applied in 26 hospitals in the state of Bahia (linked to a network of innovation and learning in hospital management), it was found that OPSAS use the Web Tools 1.0 well more than the Web 2.0. We opted to conduct a direct and systematic observation on the websites of 38 bodies producing health care services, in order to verify the incorporation or not of the devices of the Web 2.0 and the possible advances and/or setbacks on the incorporation of the Web 2.0 Philosophy in the OPSAS.

Image processing automated attendance system is the system in which easiest way to record the attendance for organization .This system is based on the face detection and face recognition algorithms. For this we make use of “Image Processing” using “MATLAB”. The concept of this paper is to provide real time attendance of students in a class to the faculty’s data base. Automatically detects the student using the web camera and only detect the facial part of that particular image and the image undergoes the various techniques and will compare with reference image, Later the attendance of the student is updated .Thus with the help of this system time will be saved and it is so convenient to record the attendance at any time throughout the day.
