Urban social sustainability represents a more specific part of urban development. Citizen involvement is a vital element of any future urban social development and helps to maintain the vision of human and diverse cities because it provides vibrant and sustainable cities in which everyone has a seat and can speak. Gellerupparken, as something new, also meets all five criteria for when an area is a ghetto during a given year. The criteria generally consist of income, ethnic origin, level of education, crime, and employment. The study’s aim is to present an objective means, to the reactivation of a passive multicultural zone in Aarhus city of Denmark to integrate it in the social life city by using the appreciative inquiry method by an introduction of new city functions. The study will assume the effect of sustainability in an urban social area, in a case study using the application of the pedagogical method, namely, the “appreciative inquiry” method.

This chapter examines issues around sharing subjective knowledge as practice in an organization, exploring what knowledge means to those working with it, how knowledge sharing happens in practice, and what influences its effectiveness. It is suggested that knowledge as practice as internalized by individuals can be difficult to communicate for a range of reasons, many relating to the effects of organizational subcultures on employee self-efficacy. A case study is used to illustrate this, based on fieldwork carried out in a research organization using the appreciative inquiry method to look at influences on the individual practice of knowledge sharing. An environment that promotes cognitive and affective trust amongst an organization's employees may go some way to address these issues.

Inspired from the movement of positive psychology, appreciative inquiry (AI) contributed immensely and continues to do so in organisational development (OD) from every aspect. As it is driven by the strength-based possibility-focused thinking approach, rather than the deficit thinking approach of problem solving inquiry method, appreciative inquiry helps in creating an overall positive environment in the organisation (practice of positive OD). The scope of appreciative inquiry, thus, is not only limited to organisational problem diagnosis and therapeutic realm, but has also spread out its wings in communication and relation building, change management, development programmes, and many more. This chapter, hence, has tried to emphasise and briefly discuss appreciative inquiry's vast scope, contribution, and positive approach in the sphere of organisational development.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberian pendampingan psikologi dengan metode appreciative inquiry untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen, dengan menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah narapidana wanitan di Lapas Klas II A Anak Martapura sebanyak 22 orang dengan menggunakan tehnik purposive sampling, kemudian dilakukan randomisasi sehingga diraih 11 orang pada kelompok eksperimen dan 11 orang pada kelompok kontrol. Instrument yang digunakan adalah Skala Kepercayaan Diri, Checklist Kepercayaan Diri dan Modul Appreciative Inquiry. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata nilai kepercayaan diri pada kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol sebesar 2,092, yang berarti pendampingan psikologi dengan metode appreciative inquiry dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri narapidana wanita di Lapas Klas II A Anak Martapura. Kata kunci: Pendampingan Psikologi, Appreciative Inquiry, Kepercayaan Diri   ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of psychological assistance with appreciative inquiry method to increase self-confidence, The method was an experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design. Subjects were 22 female inmates for drug cases in the Martapura Children’s Penitentiary Class II-A, divided into two groups of 11 persons in experimental group and the other 11 in control group. The instruments were self-confidence scale, self-confidence checklist and appreciative inquiry module. It showed that there was difference in the average value of the self-confidence between the experimental group and the control group, which meant that the psychological assistance with appreciative inquiry method was effective to increase self-confidence in female inmates in the Martapura Children’s Penitentiary Class II-A.  Keywords: Psychological Assistance, Self-Confidence, Appreciative Inquiry

El artículo aborda las percepciones sobre medioambiente y desarrollo sustentable de los jóvenes universitarios de UNESPAR, Brasil y UHO, Cuba, con el objetivo de comprender sus apreciaciones, analizarlas a partir de la diversidad de criterios y juicios para valorar la contribución de los mismos a la sustentabilidad. Se aplicó el método de Indagación Apreciativa, y se efectuó un análisis comparativo entre las dos universidades. El estudio develó que los estudiantes participan poco en actividades ecológico-ambientales a pesar de reconocer la importancia del medioambiente y poseer un juicio crítico al respecto. Muestran saber los problemas ambientales globales y locales, sin embargo algunos de ellos no revelaron una clara percepción sobre la condición ecosistémica y compleja del mundo. Ante los datos analizados, se comprende la importancia de la educación ambiental ocupar un papel más protagónico en la formación universitaria. The article deals with the perceptions about the environment and sustainable development of university students from UNESPAR, Brazil and UHO, Cuba. It aims at understanding their appreciations, analyzing them based on the diversity of criteria and judgments to assess their contribution to the sustainability. The Appreciative Inquiry method was conducted, and a comparative analysis between two Universities was carried out. The study revealed that the students has few participation in ecological-environmental activities, despite recognizing the importance of the environment and having a critical judgment about that. They show to know the global environmental problems and local, however, some of them did not reveal a clear perception about the ecosystemic and complex condition of the world. In face of analyzed data, it is highlighted the relevance of environmental education in the university formation. O artigo aborda as percepções sobre meio ambiente e desenvolvimento sustentável de estudantes universitários da UNESPAR, Brasil e da UHO, Cuba, com o objetivo de compreender suas percepções, analisá-las a partir da diversidade de opiniões e julgamentos, avaliando as implicações para a sustentabilidade. Foi aplicado o método de Investigação Apreciativa, realizando-se, ainda, uma análise comparativa entre as duas universidades. O estudo revelou que os estudantes pouco participam de atividades ambientais-ecológicas, embora reconheçam a importância do meio ambiente e tenham uma apreciação crítica a este respeito. Demonstram saber dos problemas ambientais globais e locais, não obstante alguns deles não revelam uma clara percepção sobre a condição ecossistêmica e complexa do mundo. Diante dos dados analisados, compreende-se a importância de que a educação ambiental assuma um papel mais central na formação universitária.
