Background: Smokeless tobacco use is a public health problem in some parts of the world. The major objective of this study was to investigate the reasons and factors of consumption. Methods: A content analysis was conducted on articles for the past thirty years (1989-2019). We reviewed and selected 400 abstracts of original articles from PubMed databases by the search strategy, and reviewed one by one. Among these, 45 abstracts were selected, in which the patterns of use, the reasons for using, and the determinants and predictors were described. Eleven papers were selected based on the results and related to the research objectives. The results of these articles were evaluated precisely word by word and phrase by phrase with content analysis method and inductive approach. Results: The reasons for the use of smokeless tobacco fell in two main themes: socio-cultural structure; and, beliefs, each contained Sub-themes such as "culture and living conditions", "laws", "family and peer relationships", "beliefs related to psychological" and "beliefs related to physical influences", "beliefs", "The role of harm perceptions ". Conclusion: There was a difference between beliefs, cultures and social conditions among the people about using of smokeless tobacco and the association of these factors is investigated in future studies. We also suggest for the prevention and control of smokeless tobacco use, cultural norms and beliefs will need to address adequately.

Wiki is a typical representative of the User-Generated Content. Its appearance greatly promotes the creation, organization, management, and sharing of knowledge on the Internet. As articles grow rapidly in Wikis, the quality of the articles has aroused many people’s concerns. The topics on how to assess and control the quality of articles have attracted many researchers. However, few studies have been conducted to investigate the status of this research topic. This chapter explores the current research status and trends of wikis' quality and governance. The authors selected papers from the databases of ISI, EI, IEEE, and other widely used databases. They reported the trends and research of wikis’ quality and governance using bibliometric analysis and content analysis of a total of 99 relevant papers. The results show that although the research topics in the field have experienced a very rapid development, they are still at an early age that lacks theories to support them. The discipline of Library and Information Science was found to play a very active role in this new area. Future research agenda and directions are also discussed.

This is an interview-based study of 102 families and their observations of the last weeks and days of a dying family member. Forty-one families reported hearing about “visions,” “hallucinations,” or “dreams” from their dying loved one before their death. Of these 41 mixed cases, 37 cases demonstrated classic features of deathbed visions—reports of seeing dead relatives or friends communicating to the dying person. This article reports a content analysis of these 37 cases in order to identify the major psychosocial themes that seem to be conveyed by these kinds of experiences. Six major themes are identified. These themes are: support, comfort, companionship, reunion, prognosis, and choice and control. Implications of these themes are discussed in relation to their role in providing significant support for the psychological morale and social well being of dying people.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to design an overview about Project Management (PM) in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) by analysing the evolution of publications and the main topics since 1996 to 2016 to motivate future research that helps SMEs to apply PM practices more efficiently. This study performed bibliometrics associated with content analysis of publications collected in scientific bases Web of Science and Scopus and in the periodic International Journal of Project Management. For that, the software VOSviewer, Nvivo, Minitab, and Excel were used in the analyses. The scan of 235 papers about Project Management in SMEs supported a literature overview. Furthermore, four thematic categories are highlighted: Project Management Practices, Planning and Control Systems, Collaboration, and Knowledge Management. Moreover, it was observed that SMEs requires a lighter PM methodology, focused on people and flexible. Besides that, the results show that the main challenges involve a lack of resources and qualified people and the high turnover. However, overcoming these issues, PM can benefit growth and innovation in SMEs. Therefore, this study presents a conceptual framework of benefits and challenges in Project Management in SMEs, reducing the research gap. Furthermore, recommendations for future research, mainly in Brazil, are given.

The members own the company by virtue of their shareholding and the directors manage and exercise control over the company’s affairs through the company’s board meeting. Despite segregation of powers and roles between the members and directors, there has been an inclination on the part of the members to participate to a greater extent in the company’s affairs. This paper aims to establish the legal position as between the directors and members that reflect the separation of control and ownership in the company under the common law and the Malaysian law. The method used in this study is the content analysis of the reported Malaysian and international law cases as well as the statutory provisions in order to examine the legal position established under the common law, the previous Companies Act 1965 and the newly introduced Companies Act 2016. The study reveals that the separation between the two has long been recognized and upheld by the common law as well as the Malaysian Acts. The introduction of section 195 of the Companies Act 2016, however, allows members to raise their voice in relation to matters which are within the powers of directors, hence the separation becomes slightly vague. In the absence of the latest judicial decisions to test the application of section 195, further review on its application may be required in order to determine methods to measure if a members’ recommendation is truly made in the best interests of the company.

PurposeCustomer engagement (CE) as a domain of research started gaining impetus when it became apparent that it can be a key driver of a firm's performance, competitive advantage and loyalty. The purpose of this study is to develop a deep understanding of the CE construct in marketing literature using bibliometric analysis.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, 940 articles were retrieved from Scopus, the well-known electronic database. Bibliographic coupling and co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer along with content analysis were employed.FindingsAfter careful content analysis, six clusters were identified through bibliographic coupling: (1) modeling customer engagement, (2) customer engagement theory and empirical validation, (3) customer engagement and service-dominant logic, (4) customer engagement and social media, (5) customer engagement and brand platforms and (6) engagement in other contexts. The outcomes of this study would not only be valuable for scholars working in the CE domain, but could also be useful for practitioners and policymakers who wish to enhance their understanding about CE.Originality/valueOver the past decade, the research on CE construct has exploded owing to the growing interest of both scholars and practitioners in the field. Despite being a popular field of research, there is no published work on a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the construct in marketing literature. The current study bridges this gap in the existing literature.

Abstract Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bone marrow failure, pancreatic insufficiency, and a marked propensity for myelodysplastic syndrome and leukemia. Approximately 90% of the patients have mutations in the SBDS gene. Recent studies suggested a role of the yeast SBDS homologue, YLR022C, in RNA processing and ribosomal biogenesis. However, the function of the human SBDS has not been clarified yet. We previously showed that marrow cells from SDS patients are characterized by accelerated apoptosis, overexpression of Fas and hypersensitivity to Fas stimulation. To study the function of SBDS and determine whether the above abnormalities are caused by deficiency of SBDS, we established stably transfected Hela cell lines expressing two different siRNAs against SBDS and lines expressing scrambled siRNA control. SBDS-knockdown was confirmed by Western blotting using polyclonal chicken anti-human SBDS antibody. The SBDS expression in the scrambled siRNA control cells was comparable to that of wild-type Hela cells. DNA content analysis by propidium iodide staining showed a prominent increase in sub-G1 population in asynchronous, non-treated SBDS-knockdown cells, suggesting that these cells are prone to cell death, however, no cell cycle arrest was noted. To further characterize the SBDS-knockdown cells, we examined their sensitivity to four groups of cell death inducers: DNA damaging agents (etoposide, cisplatin, and doxorubicin), transcriptional inhibitors (actinomycin D and α-amanitin), translation blocker (cycloheximide), and Fas pathway activator (agonistic anti-Fas antibody CH-11). Dose-response curves were obtained by MTT assay performed 48 hrs after treatment of the cells with the reagents. Interestingly, SBDS-deleted cells showed marked hypersensitivity to CH-11; while 3 μ g/ml of CH-11 reduced the survival fraction to 50% in wild-type and control cells, a similar effect was obtained at 0.02 μ g/ml in the SBDS-deleted cells. The hypersensitivity to Fas stimulation was also demonstrated by DNA content analysis. Based on the possible role of the yeast SBDS orthologue in RNA metabolism, we anticipated that the SBDS-deficient cells would be hypersensitive to the transcription inhibitors. However, even at concentrations which completely abolished RNA polymerase I or RNA polymerase II activity as determined by BrUTP labeling, the sensitivity of the SBDS-knockdown cells to the transciptional inhibitors was not remarkably different from that of the control or wild type cells. Similarly, the sensitivity to the genotoxic agents and protein synthesis blocker was not obviously different between the SBDS-deficient and proficient cells. To study the mechanism for Fas hypersensitivity, we analyzed Fas expression by flow cytometry using Cy5-conjugated anti-CD95 antibody and found overexpression of Fas in the SBDS-deleted cells in comparison with the Fas expression in the wild-type and control cells. Although further investigation is needed, these results suggest that the SBDS protein might be involved in cell death pathway, especially in the regulation of Fas-mediated apoptosis. The siRNA-mediated SBDS knock-down Hela cells duplicate important features of SDS cells, and may serve as a useful model to investigate the function of the human SBDS protein.

The sustainability approach applied to tourism has been taking shape as a dominant paradigm in tourism research, as well as becoming a requirement to achieve tourism competitiveness. This paper focuses specifically on the application of both concepts to protected areas, as tourist destinations. A bibliometric approach is adopted to provide information about the patterns and trends in the accumulation of knowledge related to this field, as well as to map its social, conceptual, and intellectual structure. Both evaluative and relational techniques are used to analyse the papers published until August 2019 and collected in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. The results indicate that the research field has experienced significant growth in the last decade, with institutions of the USA and Australia as stimuli of scientific progress in this field. This study finds eight thematic clusters, although there is subject dispersion within each cluster, linked to the emerging and multidisciplinary nature of the field. Based on the working lines open, the study also identifies possible future approaches, linked to the incorporation of the perspectives and objectives of the different stakeholders, and the development of indicators to monitor and control dimensions of interest.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to use a multi-disciplinary theoretical understanding of boundary setting to develop a quadripartite model in which sustainability reporting boundaries are classified as “Reputation Management”, “Ownership and Control”, “Accountability”; and, “Stakeholder Engagement”. Content analysis is then used to empirically test the model. Design/methodology/approach Using impression management theory, rationalism, systems and contingency theory, and network theory, a model is created which classifies sustainability reporting boundaries. Content analysis is used to empirically test boundaries across the disclosure of 49 GRI topics by the FTSE100. Findings Sustainability reporting fails to discharge accountability due to adoption of narrow “Reputation Management” boundaries. Boundaries are significantly (p<0.0001) narrower than previous research suggests. Findings support impression management theory as the strongest theory to predict reporting content. An ownership and control boundary, although widely criticized, represents the boundary of progressive reporters, lending marginal support for economic theories. Accountability boundaries are scarce. No evidence was found for stakeholder engagement boundaries. Practical implications The determination of boundary is critical to the discharge of accountability. A critical consideration of boundary setting is required, including authentic stakeholder engagement in determining boundaries and transparency of boundary adopted. The results are ranked to enable benchmarking of the FTSE100. Boundaries can be widened through regulation or “name and shame campaigns”. Originality/value This paper provides a theory-informed advancement in thinking on sustainability reporting boundary setting and the importance of this for advancing sustainability reporting quality.

Abstract Background The steady rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) worldwide has been a key global health challenge. Governments have the primary responsibility for taking action to prevent and control NCDs. Given the growing importance of globalization of healthcare as well as the increasing use of soft power, governments need to identify challenges and opportunities to enhance global health diplomacy (GHD) for NCD prevention and control. The purpose of this qualitative research was to explain the challenges and opportunities of GHD for NCDs in Iran. Methods This study was conducted in 2020 using a qualitative approach and through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 21 experts and specialists in related fields such as health policy, healthcare management, epidemiology and other related specialties. The participants were selected from all levels of diplomacy, including global, regional and national levels, with at least 3 years of experience in managerial, executive and scientific activities. Data analysis was performed by content analysis with an inductive approach. Data were analysed using inductive content analysis. Results The identified challenges were categorized into five main themes, including content challenges, structural challenges, process challenges, governance challenges and cultural challenges. Opportunities extracted from the interviews were also categorized into four main themes, including strong political will, utilizing the capacity of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), multisectoral collaborations and a well-developed health system. Conclusions NCD prevention and control requires a multilateral collaboration-based solution. Recognition of the challenges and opportunities in GHD can help draw significant lessons for building the necessary capacities and implementing more effective policies to prevent and control NCDs.
