Factors of tourism into one of the largest and fastest way to grow an economy is suitable for a country that would like to expand it to include Indonesia. The development of tourism through promotion and maximum service is already undertaken by the authorities to attract domestic and foreign tourists in Indonesia. One of the attractions which are experiencing an increase in visiting Goa Pindul. The problems in Goa Pindul are increase tourists revisit intention, but the facilities and infrastructure are less well. The purpose of this research was to study the relationship between e-WOM, destination image, perceived value, and return to visit in the tourism industry. Sample techniques used in this research is purposive sampling using accidental sampling. Respondents who used as many as 200 respondents on travelers who already visited one time, aged 17 years, and using the internet to searching for information about Goa Pindul. Data analysis techniques used are PLS-SEM and Sobel test. The empirical results from PLS-SEM showed that e-WOM positive and significant impact on destination image, perceived value, and return to visit. The destination image has a positive and significant impact on perceived value but on return to visit insignificant. Perceived value positive and significant impact on back to visit. Sobel test findings that effect of e-WOM on arrival to visit through perceived value significantly.

Abstract Global travel and tourism have enjoyed a significant boost due to the progress in air transport. However, the debate on air transport and the influx of foreign investments and global energy demand on economic development remains questionable. Therefore, this study is an attempt to contribute to the body of knowledge in the energy-tourism-led growth hypothesis literature. For this purpose, a novel approach to the effects of international tourism on economic growth is introduced for the Next-5 largest economies, namely (China, India, Indonesia, Turkey and the USA) between 1990 and 2018. Empirical results reveal a positive connection between foreign direct investment and income levels, electricity production and income levels, as well as between urbanization and economic growth. Moreover, the validation of the environmental Kuznets curve and the halo effect of foreign direct investment on the environmental degradation process provides a shred of more substantial evidence and fitting environmental instruments for policymakers. The empirical results encourage sustainable economic growth in these countries, mainly through the attraction of clean and high-technology foreign investment, the increase of the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix and the regulation in the tourism industry. The novel contribution of this study to the empirical literature is the unification in the same research of the TLGH and the EKC for the Next-5 largest economies, establishing recommendations for tourism, energy efficiency and environmental correction process.

This chapter deals with the tourism industry in general from the Malaysian context. Tourism industry (TI) across the globe is gaining momentum and is respected as an emerging business sector bringing the much needed foreign exchange and employment opportunities for the countries. Tourism as a service sector depends on the knowledge assets of the firms for building innovate services on the management of knowledge. Introduction and the evolution of knowledge management (KM) are discussed as enabling forces for the industry and making competitive advantage for Malaysia. Malaysian achievements in TI bring much needed foreign revenues and bring employment opportunities as well. KM systems stem from the need to manage service orientation of the tourism industry associated with a higher level of diversity in services requirements of the customer coming to Malaysia from across the globe. Finally, a particular set of empirical results are reported to establish the effects of KM on service innovation and performance of Malaysian tourism players. Moreover, emerging trends in the TI are highlighted as well.

Abstract. A number of people believe that results from neuroscience have the potential to settle seemingly intractable debates concerning the nature, practice, and reliability of moral judgments. In particular, Joshua Greene has argued that evidence from neuroscience can be used to advance the long-standing debate between consequentialism and deontology. This paper first argues that charitably interpreted, Greene’s neuroscientific evidence can contribute to substantive ethical discussions by being part of an epistemic debunking argument. It then argues that taken as an epistemic debunking argument, Greene’s argument falls short in undermining deontological judgments. Lastly, it proposes that accepting Greene’s methodology at face value, neuroimaging results may in fact call into question the reliability of consequentialist judgments. The upshot is that Greene’s empirical results do not undermine deontology and that Greene’s project points toward a way by which empirical evidence such as neuroscientific evidence can play a role in normative debates.

Employers incur costs while fulfilling the requirements of employment protection legislation. The article contains a review of the core theoretical models and empirical results concerning the impact of these costs on firms’ practices in hiring, firing, training and remuneration. Overall, if wages are flexible or enforcement is weak, employment protection does not significantly influence employers’ behavior. Otherwise, stringent employment protection results in the reduction of hiring and firing rates, changes in personnel selection criteria, types of labour contracts and dismissal procedures, and, in some cases, it may lead to the growth of wages and firms’ investments to human capital.

Does resource abundance positively affect human capital accumulation? Or, alternatively, does it «crowd out» the human capital leading to the deterioration of economic growth? The paper gives an overview of the relevant literature and discusses both theoretical and empirical results obtained regarding the connection between human capital accumulation and resource abundance. It shows that despite some theoretical predictions about the harmful effect of resource abundance on human capital accumulation, unambiguous evidence of such impact that would be robust with respect to the change of resource abundance parameter has not been obtained yet.

The actual omnichannel customer uses indifferently both online and offline channels to express himself through consumption, which increasingly blends personal, cultural and social dimensions. In this perspective social media and social networks are able to assist e-retailers in their effort of creating a total e-customer experience, especially in the tourism industry, trying to satisfy their clients from the relational and commercial point of view. By means of an empirical analysis where managers were interviewed on the topic and its degree of application in the firms, the paper underlines how from the managerial point of view, that represents a new prospect on the topic, the expected shift from e-commerce to social commerce paradigm, facilitating the selling and buying of products and services by using various internet features, is nowadays not completely understood and realized.
