The article presents a holistic view on neuroosteopathy. It demonstrates the connection between the congenital and the acquired alterations with due regard to the epigenetic aspects of morphogenesis in different periods of the organism’s individual development. On the basis of the analysis of scientific literature and of the clinical osteopathic experience the connection between the child’s motor development and the formation of his nervous system is shown. The article presents a plan of osteopathic treatment of the lesions diagnosed which is based on the analysis of the connection between the motor acts, gestures, positions and congenital reflexes.

ABSTRACT The entry of smartphones into our lives is due to two primary reasons – the rapid advancement in technology and R & D, making present technology redundant within weeks and the drastic drop in prices of smartphones which occur weekly or monthly. The objectives of this paper are: (1) To provide a more holistic view of smartphone users' preference (2) To have depth analysis on how consumers put a premium on various smartphone features application and tools (3) To understand how prospective customers appreciate the good features of the product. Three statistical tools were used: Frequency Distribution to get the profile of the respondent's actual usage of smartphones and attitudes of consumers, Pearson Correlation, and Conjoint analysis, which was used to analyze the preference of the respondents on smartphone attributes. This study showed a moderately fit conjoint model, Pearson R =.742, p<.05, Kendall's Tau was .333, p<.05 and .333, p< .05 for the holdouts. From the given set of attributes, price (47.11%) is the most important, followed by the SIM card slot (19.05%), and the phone plan (9.14%). This paper is the first study done in the Philippines about the usage, attitudes of consumers towards smartphones using conjoint analysis. The analysis would help companies to understand what aspects of their products are essential and irrelevant. Companies will act upon a certain aspect to ensure higher profitability. In many parts of the world, management of water resources and infrastructures is fragmented between agencies at multiple levels – state, provincial, and local – and sometimes between functions within individual agencies. Consequently it is often impossible to take a holistic view of the issues at hand to enable effective management of the resource or infrastructure – either because of the overhead of managing the coordination required, and/or because of politics between the different stakeholders. In their work for IBM, the authors created a concept of an information technology (IT)-enabled “collaboration platform” that integrates different water data sources with IT tools to enable multiple entities to maintain and share a “common operating picture.” This greatly assists with coordination and reduces politics to manageable levels. In this paper, the authors describe the collaboration platform and its benefits by reference to examples of such platforms in use, and propose a reference technical architecture for creating collaboration platforms.

Background: in the last years, ultrasound technology has entered in clinical practice as a tank and today, it has also allowed to no-cardiologists to extend and to deep their medical examination without the needing to call the consultant and having a good profile of diagnostic accuracy. The ultrasound bedside does not replace the consultant but it allows not to perform inappropriate consultations with more savings for hospitals. Objective: The aim was to review recently published literature to inform the clinician about the most up to date management of use bedside echography in emergency setting. In this short review we focused on two types of syndromes, no traumatichypotension and dyspnea, common to the three holistic disciplines of medicine, showing the main and basic questions and answers that ultrasound can give us for rapid identification of the problem Methods: We conducted a systematic review using Pubmed/Medline, Ovid/Willey and Cochrane Library, combining key terms such as “cardiac ultrasound, “cardiac diseases”,“emergency medicine”,“pocus”, “dyspnea”,“ hypotension”. We selected the most relevant clinical trials and review articles (excluding case reports) published in the last 19 years and in our opinion 59 publications appeared the best choice according to the PRISMA statement. In additional papers identified from individual article reference lists were also included. Conclusion: Recent studies have shown promise in establishing best practices for evaluation of heart, lung abdomen and deep vessels At the moment bedside US is widely used in an integrated ultrasound vision just like the holistic view have internal medicine, intensive care and emergency medicine and many medical schools in Europe and the USA are inserting ultrasonography into the core curriculum but we still have to find a standard method for the training program for minimum competence acquisition.

Introduction Anthroposophic medicine is a form of integrative medicine that originated in Europe but is not well known in the US. It is comprehensive and heterogenous in scope and remains provocative and controversial in many academic circles. Assessment of the nature and potential contribution of anthroposophic medicine to whole person care and global health seems appropriate. Methods Because of the heterogenous and multifaceted character of anthroposophic medicine, a narrative review format was chosen. A Health Technology Assessment of anthroposophic medicine in 2006 was reviewed and used as a starting point. A Medline search from 2006 to July 2020 was performed using various search terms and restricted to English. Books, articles, reviews and websites were assessed for clinical relevance and interest to the general reader. Abstracts of German language articles were reviewed when available. Reference lists of articles and the author’s personal references were also consulted. Results The literature on anthroposophic medicine is vast, providing new ways of thinking, a holistic view of the world, and many integrating concepts useful in medicine. In the last ∼20 years there has been a growing research base and implementation of many anthroposophical concepts in the integrated care of patients. Books and articles relevant to describing the foundations, scientific status, safety, effectiveness and criticisms of anthroposophic medicine are discussed. Discussion An objective and comprehensive analysis of anthroposophic medicine finds it provocative, stimulating and potentially fruitful as an integrative system for whole person care, including under-recognized life processes and psychospiritual aspects of human beings. It has a legitimate, new type of scientific status as well as documented safety and effectiveness in some areas of its multimodal approach. Criticisms and controversies of anthroposophic medicine are often a result of lack of familiarity with its methods and approach and/or come from historically fixed ideas of what constitutes legitimate science.

The current public health crisis has highlighted the need to accelerate healthcare innovation. Despite unwavering levels of cooperation among academia, industry, and policy makers, it can still take years to bring a life-saving product to market. There are some obvious limitations, including lack of blinding or masking and small sample size, which render the results less applicable to the real world. Traditional randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are lengthy, expensive, and have a low success rate. There is a growing acknowledgement that the current process no longer fully meets the growing healthcare needs. Advances in technology coupled with proliferation of telehealth modalities, sensors, wearable and connected devices have paved the way for a new paradigm. Virtual randomized controlled trials (vRCTs) have the potential to drastically shorten the clinical trial cycle while maximizing patient-centricity, compliance, and recruitment. This new approach can inform clinical trials in real time and with a holistic view of a patient’s health. This paper provides an overview of virtual clinical trials, addressing critical issues, including regulatory compliance, data security, privacy, and ownership.

AbstractReturns are an inconvenient problem in the mail-order business, not only for the merchant but also for the customer. With an estimated return rate of 50% in the fashion sector, the seller has to deal with the expense of restocking and possibly reprocessing, the buyer, who must reship the return, and the environment. We do not consider returns to be generally bad, but rather an explicit, integral part of the online business model. Therefore, we investigate potentially suitable measures to avert or avoid returns in the pre-purchase, purchase, and post-purchase phases. We look at current and technological developments in return management and the most critical drivers for fashion assortment returns. The measures we investigate deliver a holistic view of the issue and target all three purchase phases. The resulting measures were assessed via an online questionnaire with 8393 participants (customers of a German fashion online retailer) to impact customer satisfaction using Kano’s method. There are clear measures that promise high customer satisfaction (such as 360° view) and a clear hierarchy regarding monetary and non-monetary measures. By applying a new method, the segmented Kano perspective, we found different customer segments, which are different in their expectations towards returns. That allowed us to conclude dynamics regarding return management. This assessment is followed by discussing the results, conclusions, and indications for further research fields.

The Moment

The research on the multimodal transport development within the cross-border area is a result of identified gaps in the system solutions and cooperation between stakeholders of three countries: Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Freight transport is an especially complex problem. It is an area that is not comprehensively recognized in the context of cross-border cooperation. The results of the research presented in this paper are the continuation of analyses performed within the scope of the international project framework TRANS TRITIA. At the moment, transport policy assumes the struggle for the utilization of multimodality within freight transport. This is justified by the need to reduce external transport costs. At the same time, this necessitates actions of a technical, organizational, and legislation nature as well as cooperation between stakeholders. The multimodal transport ecosystem is a vision of the transport within cross-border areas that assumes the increase in the flow dynamics within the multimodal transport. The main goal of this paper was the stakeholders’ analysis and identification of their roles in the ecosystem of multimodal freight transport within the Polish–Czech–Slovak cross-border area. The conceptualization of the multimodal freight transport ecosystem was essential to achieving the objective. To achieve the objective, a stakeholder analysis has been performed based on expert research. As a result of the research, organizational projects have been proposed to strengthen the idea of the coevolution of the multimodal transport ecosystem. The key conclusion from the performed research is the declaration that a holistic view of the multimodal transport ecosystem necessitates the appointment of a coordinator who will synchronize knowledge, business, and innovation ecosystems.
