The paper reports the concept of a technological way as an urgent and empirically substantiated continuation of the wellknown theory of long waves in economy. The theory of long waves allows predicting on an empirical level world economic crises and an economic growth on the horizon for 50 years. The genesis of the theory of long waves by means of retrospective author’s classification of theories of long waves in accordance with technological, economic, institutional, administrative and social signs is analyzed. A basic range of authors having formed a modern and urgent theory of long waves which is verified by time and supported by empirical computations is presented by N.D. Kondratiev, G. Mensch, J. Dossy, Ch. Peres, S.Yu. Glaziev. The concept of a technological way being empirically confirmed by the continuation of the theory of long waves was formed by Academician Glaziev. In this concept there are revealed basic statement-laws and also the necessity of methodological approaches in technological, economic, institutional, administrative and sociological fields. The logic of the formation and interaction of technological totality is described thoroughly. The conclusions of technological way existence are drawn. Technological innovations defining the formation of the core of a technological way and revolutionizing a technological structure of economy have obtained a name of a “key factor”. Nanotechnologies are such a factor at present and for the prospect of 50 years. The conclusions of a basic property of a technological way being a self-reproducing integrity are drawn in consequence of which the technical development of economy cannot take place otherwise as by means of a successive change of technological ways.

The trend in the study of photo content in the modern media space is gaining momentum and actualizes the problems of interpreting a visual image. Under the influence of technological innovations, the photographic process is being transformed and requires not only professional self-reflection, but also a detailed study based on modern approaches and methods of text reconstruction. The method of semiotic analysis and the method of the language field allow us to identify and interpret the meanings embedded in photo projects. The semiotic interpretation is focused on the analysis of the visual image, which is a culturally determined system of signs. In turn, the language field method allows you to identify key concepts in a certain topic and associate them with peripheral ones that complement the core. In this article, the promise of using these methods is demonstrated on the material of photoprojects by V. Klamm and F. Telkov.

Glazyev. The academician Glazyev has formed the concept of the technological order which is empirically proved continuation of the long waves theory. In this concept the main statements-laws, and the need of methodological approaches for technological, economic, institutional, administrative and sociological areas are revealed. An obvious property of the technological coherence of productions is considered. The logic of formation and interaction of technological units is described in detail. The conclusions are drawn about the presence of technological order. The technological innovations defining the core formation of technological way and revolutionizing technological structure of economy have received the name "key factor". Such factor now and for the next 50 years is nanotechnologies. Conclusions are drawn concerning the main property of the technological order which is a self-reproducing integrity because of that technical development of economy is only possible by consecutive change of technological orders.

Contact tracing was one of the core public health strategies implemented during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this essay, we describe the rapid establishment of a volunteer contact tracing program in New Haven, Connecticut. We describe successes of the program and challenges that were faced. Going forward, contact tracing efforts can best be supported by increased funding to state and local health departments for a stable workforce and use of evidence-based technological innovations.

This article discusses two major revolutions in the history of humankind, namely, the Neolithic and the Middle to Upper Palaeolithic revolutions. The course of the first one is used as a general analogy to study the second, and the older one. This approach puts aside the issue of biological differences among the human fossils, and concentrates solely on the cultural and technological innovations. It also demonstrates the issues that are common-place to the study of the transition from foraging to cultivation and animal husbandry can be employed as an overarching model for the study of the transition from the Middle to the Upper Palaeolithic. The advantage of this approach is that it focuses on the core areas where each of these revolutions began, the ensuing dispersals and their geographic contexts.

Abstract The target article carefully describes the memory system, centered on the temporal lobe that builds specific memory traces. It does not, however, mention the laterality effects that exist within this system. This commentary briefly surveys evidence showing that clear asymmetries exist within the temporal lobe structures subserving the core system and that the right temporal structures mainly underpin face familiarity feelings.

The authors have investigated the dissolution process of human cholesterol gallstones using a scanning electron microscope(SEM). This study was carried out by comparing control gallstones incubated in beagle bile with gallstones obtained from patients who were treated with chenodeoxycholic acid(CDCA).The cholesterol gallstones for this study were obtained from 14 patients. Three control patients were treated without CDCA and eleven patients were treated with CDCA 300-600 mg/day for periods ranging from four to twenty five months. It was confirmed through chemical analysis that these gallstones contained more than 80% cholesterol in both the outer surface and the core.The specimen were obtained from the outer surface and the core of the gallstones. Each specimen was attached to alminum sheet and coated with carbon to 100Å thickness. The SEM observation was made by Hitachi S-550 with 20 kV acceleration voltage and with 60-20, 000X magnification.

The fat body of insects has always been compared functionally to the liver of vertebrates. Both synthesize and store glycogen and lipid and are concerned with the formation of blood proteins. The comparison becomes even more apt with the discovery of microbodies and the localization of urate oxidase and catalase in insect fat body.The microbodies are oval to spherical bodies about 1μ across with a depression and dense core on one side. The core is made of coiled tubules together with dense material close to the depressed membrane. The tubules may appear loose or densely packed but always intertwined like liquid crystals, never straight as in solid crystals (Fig. 1). When fat body is reacted with diaminobenzidine free base and H2O2 at pH 9.0 to determine the distribution of catalase, electron microscopy shows the enzyme in the matrix of the microbodies (Fig. 2). The reaction is abolished by 3-amino-1, 2, 4-triazole, a competitive inhibitor of catalase. The fat body is the only tissue which consistantly reacts positively for urate oxidase. The reaction product is sharply localized in granules of about the same size and distribution as the microbodies. The reaction is inhibited by 2, 6, 8-trichloropurine, a competitive inhibitor of urate oxidase.

Grains of pigeonite, a calcium-poor silicate mineral of the pyroxene group, from the Whin Sill dolerite have been ion-thinned and examined by TEM. The pigeonite is strongly zoned chemically from the composition Wo8En64FS28 in the core to Wo13En34FS53 at the rim. Two phase transformations have occurred during the cooling of this pigeonite:- exsolution of augite, a more calcic pyroxene, and inversion of the pigeonite from the high- temperature C face-centred form to the low-temperature primitive form, with the formation of antiphase boundaries (APB's). Different sequences of these exsolution and inversion reactions, together with different nucleation mechanisms of the augite, have created three distinct microstructures depending on the position in the grain.In the core of the grains small platelets of augite about 0.02μm thick have farmed parallel to the (001) plane (Fig. 1). These are thought to have exsolved by homogeneous nucleation. Subsequently the inversion of the pigeonite has led to the creation of APB's.

In the course of fine structure studies of spontaneous “C-type” particle production in a viper (Vipera russelli) spleen cell line, designated VSW, virus particles were frequently observed within mitochondria. The latter were usually enlarged or swollen, compared to virus-free mitochondria, and displayed a considerable degree of cristae disorganization.Intramitochondrial viruses measure 90 to 100 mμ in diameter, and consist of a nucleoid or core region of varying density and measuring approximately 45 mμ in diameter. Nucleoid density variation is presumed to reflect varying degrees of condensation, and hence maturation stages. The core region is surrounded by a less-dense outer zone presumably representing viral capsid.Particles are usually situated in peripheral regions of the mitochondrion. In most instances they appear to be lodged between loosely apposed inner and outer mitochondrial membranes.
