AbstractThe prevalence of Clinical ethics support (CES) services is increasing. Yet, questions about what quality of CES entails and how to foster the quality of CES remain. This paper describes the development of a national network (NEON), which aimed to conceptualize and foster the quality of CES in the Netherlands simultaneously. Our methodology was inspired by a responsive evaluation approach which shares some of our key theoretical presuppositions of CES. A responsive evaluation methodology engages stakeholders in developing quality standards of a certain practice, instead of evaluating a practice by predefined standards. In this paper, we describe the relationship between our theoretical viewpoint on CES and a responsive evaluation methodology. Then we describe the development of the network (NEON) and focus on three activities that exemplify our approach. In the discussion, we reflect on the similarities and differences between our approach and other international initiatives focusing on the quality of CES.

Abstract Background Various forms of Clinical Ethics Support (CES) have been developed in health care organizations. Over the past years, increasing attention has been paid to the question of how to foster the quality of ethics support. In the Netherlands, a CES quality assessment project based on a responsive evaluation design has been implemented. CES practitioners themselves reflected upon the quality of ethics support within each other’s health care organizations. This study presents a qualitative evaluation of this Responsive Quality Assessment (RQA) project. Methods CES practitioners’ experiences with and perspectives on the RQA project were collected by means of ten semi-structured interviews. Both the data collection and the qualitative data analysis followed a stepwise approach, including continuous peer review and careful documentation of the decisions. Results The main findings illustrate the relevance of the RQA with regard to fostering the quality of CES by connecting to context specific issues, such as gaining support from upper management and to solidify CES services within health care organizations. Based on their participation in the RQA, CES practitioners perceived a number of changes regarding CES in Dutch health care organizations after the RQA: acknowledgement of the relevance of CES for the quality of care; CES practices being more formalized; inspiration for developing new CES-related activities and more self-reflection on existing CES practices. Conclusions The evaluation of the RQA shows that this method facilitates an open learning process by actively involving CES practitioners and their concrete practices. Lessons learned include that “servant leadership” and more intensive guidance of RQA participants may help to further enhance both the critical dimension and the learning process within RQA.

The article discusses communicative units, which are the main indicators of linguistic communication, and also describes the functions, features, importance and place of communicative units in communication. Communicative units of the language are words, sentences, text and phraseological units, each of which requires individual study. Accordingly, the article examines the relationship of phraseological units with the communicative, emotional and expressive functions of the language. Focusing on the types of phrases and idioms of the phraseology of the Kazakh language, their similarities and differences were identified. The opinions of scientists about the semantic meaning, cognitive, emotional, expressive shades of phraseological expressions are analyzed, examples are given. The features, use, methods of creating phraseological units with the quality of personalization are analyzed. The communicative activity of phraseological units, the positive cognitive function, the pragmatic purpose of the sentence were studied. Phraseological phrases are grouped by communicative function.

Kampung Baru is an area on Bintan Island which is located in Sebong Lagoi Village, Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aimed at determine the structure of the macrozoobenthos community, the condition of the physico-chemical parameters of the waters and the relationship between macrozoobenthos and water quality. This research was conducted using a survey method. Sampling site points of this study using random sampling method with 30 sampling site points at high and low tide. The parameters measured are physical, chemical and biological parameters of the water. The results showed that there were 18 species of macrozoobenthos consisting of 4 classes of macrozoobenthos and 3 phylum at 30 sampling site points, namely mollusca, annelida, and arthhopoda phylum. Based on the ecological index value, it is known that the macrozoobenthos species in Kampung Baru waters are still classified as low with disproportionate conditions. The values ​​of diversity index (low), uniformity index (high) and dominance index (low). Water quality of Kampung Baru waters at high tide still meet quality standards of Kepmen-LH No. 51 of 2004, but at low tide the values ​​of temperature, DO, and salinity parameters did not meet quality standards. The relationship between macrozoobenthos parameters and water quality using PCA analysis where density parameters have a relationship with two parameters, namely temperature and pH.

Abstract Background In childhood cancer care, healthcare professionals must deal with several difficult moral situations in clinical practice. Previous studies show that morally difficult challenges are related to decisions on treatment limitations, infringing on the child's integrity and growing autonomy, and interprofessional conflicts. Research also shows that healthcare professionals have expressed a need for clinical ethics support to help them deal with morally difficult situations. Moral case deliberations (MCDs) are one example of ethics support. The aim of this study was to describe the MCD-related outcomes that healthcare professionals in childhood cancer care considered important, before MCDs were implemented, in order to facilitate the implementation of MCDs in childhood cancer care in Sweden. Methods This study is based on qualitative data. Healthcare professionals, mostly representing registered nurses, nursing assistants and physicians, working at childhood cancer care centres in Sweden, were invited to respond to the translated and content validated European MCD Outcomes Instrument, before participating in regular MCDs. Answers to the main open-ended question, included in the questionnaire, was analysed according to systematic text condensation. Results Data was collected from 161 responses from the healthcare professionals. The responses included healthcare professionals’ perceptions of which MCD-related outcomes they found important for handling moral challenges. Three different themes of important outcomes from the analysis of the data are presented as follows: Interprofessional well-being in team interactions on a team level; Professional comfort when dealing with moral challenges on a personal level; and Improved quality of care for the child and the family on a care level. Conclusions Healthcare professionals in childhood cancer care considered it important that ethics support could enhance the well-being of interprofessional teams, support healthcare professionals on an individual level and improve quality of care. The results of this study can be used in current and future training for MCD-facilitators. When knowing the context specific important MCD-outcomes, the sessions could be adapted. Managers in childhood cancer care would benefit from knowing about the specific important outcomes for their target group because they could then create relevant working conditions for clinical ethics support.

PurposeThe aim of this study was to explore the experiences and outcomes for adults with complex needs over time, within and between two teams that delivered integrated care across different Councils' services. The teams' approach to integration included two key features: a “case lead” way of working and the team itself operating as a single point of access (SPA) for residents in given neighbourhoods with high deprivation.Design/methodology/approachThe study was designed as evaluation research located in the realist tradition. Two teams acted as a case study to provide an in-depth understanding of how the case lead approach and SPA delivered the craft and graft of integrated working in the teams. Mixed methods of data collection included residents' ratings of their quality of life on five domains in an outcome measure over a six-month period. Residents and staff working in the teams also participated in semi-structured interviews to explore their respective experiences and receiving and delivering integrated care. The costs of care delivery incurred by residents were calculated based on their demands on public services in the year leading up to the teams' intervention and the projected costs for one year following this.FindingsThe relationship between team context, case leads' inputs and residents' outcomes was mediated through the managerial style in the integrated teams which enabled case leads to be creative and do things differently with residents. Case leads worked holistically to prevent residents being in crisis as well as giving practical help such as sorting debts and finances and supporting access to volunteering or further education. Residents rated their quality of life as significantly improved over a six-month period and significant savings in costs as result of the teams' support were projected.Originality/valueThe study used a multi-evaluation realistic evaluation methodology to explore the relationship between team context, case leads' inputs and residents' outcomes in terms that integrated services across different District and County Council Departments.

The purpose of this research are: 1) to analyze how much ambient of dust content in the vicinity of the Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin, 2) To analyze the levels of air pollution caused by ambient dust in the vicinity of the Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin, and 3) To analyze the relationship between the amount of dust in the health status of workers and surrounding communities around Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin. The average quality of dust ambient at Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin has exceeded the threshold required under Regulation 41 of 1999, which amounted to 974.1 mg/Nm3 on the location of the terminal entrance and 941.2 in stacking terminal locations, while in residential areas is still far below the quality standards required namely 51,5 μg/Nm3. There is correlation between the quality of dust ambient at Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin with public health, with r = -0.40. This result shows strong correlation between levels of dust ambient with health workers and communities around the Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, in the nearby residential areas indicates that there is no significant correlation between level of dust ambient to public health, where r = 0.40. This indicates that the level of dust content in the Container Terminal PT. Pelindo III Banjarmasin Banjarmasin not too closely related to public health.

Academic libraries have experienced growing demand for 24/7 access to resources and services. Despite the challenges and costs of chat reference service and consortia, many libraries are finding the demand for these services worth the cost. One key challenge is providing and measuring quality of service, particularly in a consortia setting. This study explores the quality of service provided in one academic library participating in a 24/7 chat reference consortium, by assessing transcripts of chat sessions using in-house reference quality standards. Findings point to both similarities and differences between chat interactions of local librarians versus consortia staff.

Abstract. Recently, Garfinkel and Critchley (2013) proposed to distinguish between three facets of interoception: interoceptive sensibility, interoceptive accuracy, and interoceptive awareness. This pilot study investigated how these facets interrelate to each other and whether interoceptive awareness is related to the metacognitive awareness of memory performance. A sample of 24 healthy students completed a heartbeat perception task (HPT) and a memory task. Judgments of confidence were requested for each task. Participants filled in questionnaires assessing interoceptive sensibility, depression, anxiety, and socio-demographic characteristics. The three facets of interoception were found to be uncorrelated and interoceptive awareness was not related to metacognitive awareness of memory performance. Whereas memory performance was significantly related to metamemory awareness, interoceptive accuracy (HPT) and interoceptive awareness were not correlated. Results suggest that future research on interoception should assess all facets of interoception in order to capture the multifaceted quality of the construct.

Objectively and reliably determined indicators of rheological properties of the dough were identified using the alveograph device to create a system of classifications of wheat and flour from it for the intended purpose in the future. The analysis of the relationship of standardized quality indicators, as well as newly developed indicators for identifying them, differentiating the quality of wheat flour for the intended purpose, i.e. for finished products. To do this, we use mathematical statistics methods.
