Many researchers agree that virtue is an important psychological concept in contemporary psychology. The main purpose in this study was to investigate the relationship between virtues and the personality traits of college students in mainland China. Participants (N = 426) completed the Chinese Virtue Adjectives Rating Scale (CVARS; Mu, 2007) and the Chinese 16PF (Zhu & Dai, 1988). The results indicated that the 16 personality factors most closely related to the virtue factors were emotional stability, dominance, liveliness, rule-consciousness, social boldness, sensitivity, vigilance, abstractedness, apprehension, self-reliance, perfectionism, and tension. Second-order factors of the 16PF most strongly related to the virtue factors were anxiety, extraversion, tough-mindedness, and independence.

Modern psychology faces many tasks that require the study of social psychological characteristics of representatives of different generations. However, there still is no single, unified concept of generations in the psy¬chological science, which makes research into the subject even more difficult. Basing on a review of Russian and foreign works, the author describes the following three problems of research on generations in modern psychology: 1) The problem of defining the very concept of 'generation'; 2) The problem of defining quantitative and qualitative characteristics of 'generation'; 3) The problem of differentiating between generations. Creating a complex social psychological concept in which a generation would be considered a relatively independent social community of individuals united by common cultural-historical location and common experience may contribute to eliminating these problems. The author argues that generations functioning in society should be differentiated on the basis of the following criteria: historical era, age, family role and identification with one or another generation.

The concept of age has a central role in the theoretical structure of L. S. Vygotsky’s approach to analysing child development. This concept is presented in the first part of this article. The presentation is organized around three conceptual challenges, the role or function of the age concept in a theory of human development, the psychological “content” of an age, and how to evaluate development in relation to an age. Main points include: (a) age, as a psychological concept, is formed through historical, material practice, (b) the concept has practical importance, but (c) for the most part the concept is still only a theoretical sketch. The second part of the article takes up methodological problems involved in working with and further developing this theoretical concept. Use of the concept in relation to pedagogical interventions may be especially productive.

The article discusses the psychological concept of involvement and its significance in the design of corporate information systems. Traditionally, the concept of engagement is used to predict various consequences of this phenomenon in the form of employee performance and work behavior attitudes, which is extremely important in a remote work environment. Accounting for engagement can increase job satisfaction in the process of remote interaction with corporate information systems, unite employees of an organization around corporate values, and positively affect the effectiveness of individual activities and the activities of the organization as a whole. This article is of a staged nature, given the ambiguity of information about the concept of involvement, its different interpretations and levels of analysis presented in the works of Russian and foreign psychologists. In the conditions of insufficient elaboration of the concept of "involvement", it is not possible to effectively use it in the design and development of distributed information systems. Thus, the elaboration of this concept ultimately depends not only on the design efficiency and the success of the implementation of the information system, but also on the effectiveness of individual labor and the effectiveness of organizations. It is necessary to pay attention to such significant points as the preservation of the psychological health and psychological well-being of employees, which affect the efficiency of the entire organization as a whole. Refinement of the concept of engagement is extremely important for taking it into account in the design of corporate information systems. At the logical level of designing corporate information systems, the psychological concept of involvement can be taken into account in the following models of the information system: structural model, information model and functional model.

Christians sometimes avoid assertiveness training because they believe it conflicts with Christian values stressing self-sacrifice. The present article argues that while Christians need to be wise consumers of this or any other form of skills training, assertiveness and Christian values are much more consonant than they are dissonant. The article clarifies the psychological concept of assertiveness, examines related theological-scriptural material, and looks at the possible impact of increased assertiveness in the church.
