Youth is always considered as the dynamic section of society which stands inevitable both as age category and social status. There is a strong tendency among politicians, researchers to see youth bulge as a problem to be solved or as a threat which must be treated. However youth are underestimated as positive agents of change and key actors in development and harmony of the nation. But then more importantly, providing a conducive environment for youth is crucial and remains as the biggest challenge in India as the nation is going to be the youngest nation in the world demographically and will remain the same for next couple of decades. This paper explores the role of youth in development and various models and approaches by which the society and professionals working with youth can address those queries and anxieties associated with the youth bulge. Further the paper explores the scope of youth work in India as the nation is going to be the youngest nation in couple of years. Further research and debates on youth work as a profession in India is an essential element to develop specific guidance to support policy and commissioning processes in understanding how youth work contributes to effective interventions and improves the lives of young people.

Although widely discussed in the public media, there is currently a debate about the characteristics of generations in society (C, X, Y, Z), particularly with regard to their technological habits. Based on 24, 502 college students, this study proposes to examine the digital natives in terms of their use of technologies in education. The results of multivariate analysis challenge our assumptions about digital natives while supporting other studies from around the world that highlight technological uses and educational potential.

Communication between employees play a crucial role in increasing the productivity in the workplace. Social media is an ideal tool that can be used to enhance the communication process between the employees. This tool can be used to retrieve an insurmountable amount of information. Nevertheless, the usage of social media has two different consequences known as the “dual effects”: productive behaviors (task-oriented and relationship-building) and unproductive behaviors (deviance) at work (Carlson D., Carlson J. & Harris, 2016). It is essential for organizations to understand what drives Millennial employees and what tools they prefer to utilize in the workplace. Understanding Millennials’ characteristics will enable the management team to lead them appropriately and thus elicit more productive outcomes. Millennials have certain characteristics that distinguish them from previous generations. They are known as “digital natives” as the idea of technology has been ingrained in their mind since birth. (Myers, Sundaram & Vodanovich, 2010). This generation expects an abundance of information, aims for the speed of communication and multi-tasking, and are willing to share their experiences with the world via social networks (Krishen et al, 2016). In this study, we will see how social media can have an impact on their psychological health.

Digital divide can be considered a macro economical index representing the social differences and the separation between the North and the South of the world. Since the first definition of digital divide, it has been shown that it is also a great and unrecognized problem in the developed countries, especially in the field of education. “Digital disconnection” is a key problem for School and University as institutions. In this paper, the above questions are widely analyzed with a special attention on the spreading gap between digital natives (i.e., young students), and digital immigrants (i.e., parents, teachers and policymakers in the school).

Digital natives grew up in the world of digital media and live in it. They have different learning styles, call for other teaching methods, and are using different means of communication in their learning processes. In this paper the D-Move learning environment is presented and evaluated. It offers digital natives an experienced-based learning environment and is perceived by the learners as superior to traditional learning based on case studies with regard to activation, satisfaction with the learning process, and satisfaction with the learning environment. At the same time D-Move is used as a research environment to better understand disruptive innovations in the world of digital. The underlying assumption is that a better understanding of already existing differences between digital natives and their parent generation will bring insights into future large scale transformation processes. The main two components of D-Move are a module to support Delphi studies with online and offline components as well as a module to capture, annotate and structure real world experiences to support the Delphi contributions.

Virtual exchange is gaining popularity in formal and non-formal education, partly as a means to internationalise the curriculum, and also to offer more sustainable and inclusive international and intercultural experiences to young people around the world. This volume brings together 19 case studies (17 in higher education and two in youth work) of virtual exchange projects in Europe and the South Mediterranean region. They span across a range of disciplines, from STEM to business, tourism, and languages, and are presented as real-life pedagogical practices that can be of interest to educators looking for ideas and inspiration.

Peasant strength: Work and resistance of a representative of the peopleAbstract  This paper intends to analyze the dimensions of ethnographic work from a specific axis: the memoir of Gregório Bezerra - published in 1979 and reissued in 2011. Thus, we seek to understand how its author, famous member of the Brazilian Communist Party, relates aspects of popular universe - represented by its child labor in the field and later his youth work on the streets of Recife slums - with his political activities. We start from the hypothesis that his childhood’s experiences as a rural laborer operates in order to identify and legitimize his political activities and the construction of his image as a legitimate and authentic revolutionary. Categories as hungry, explotation, labor, solidarity, family, honor and half illiteracy are highlighted in this analysis, because it seems to reveal the axis between the field's experiences and his performance in the party. Based on stretches and core categories of these memories, this work aims to expose certain elements associated with the world of work, demonstrating its complexity. Keywords: Gregório Bezerra, Memory, Trajectory, militancy, work
