To minimize the impact of industrial enterprises on water objects, a wide variety of adsorbents (based on activated carbon, natural materials, nanomaterials, vegetable waste of agro-industrial complex, etc.) is used. Recently, chitin and chitosan have attracted the attention of scientists due to a number of unique physico-chemical and biological properties (adsorption, antioxidant, radioprotective, immunomodulating, lamina-forming). We have improved the method of obtaining powdered chitosan and established the basic physical and chemical parameters (bulk density, humidity). The method of obtaining chitosan granules and composite materials based on chitosan and modified sunflower husks (MSH) has been further developed by the "drip method". The adsorption properties of powder chitosan, chitosan granules and MSH were studied. It is set that a granular adsorbent has a high adsorbtivity in comparing to the original chitosan. Efficiency of wastewater treatment with the use of chitosan granules and MSH is equally high (up to 98%). The optimum amount of adsorbent for effective cleaning of contaminated water is 1% of its volume. The use of the results of the conducted research allows us to obtain an effective adsorbent for the treatment of industrial waste water.

Acellular nerve allografts (ANGs) represent a promising alternative in nerve repair. Our aim is to improve the structural and biomechanical properties of biocompatible Sondell (SD) and Roosens (RS) based ANGs using genipin (GP) as a crosslinker agent ex vivo. The impact of two concentrations of GP (0.10% and 0.25%) on Wistar rat sciatic nerve-derived ANGs was assessed at the histological, biomechanical, and biocompatibility levels. Histology confirmed the differences between SD and RS procedures, but not remarkable changes were induced by GP, which helped to preserve the nerve histological pattern. Tensile test revealed that GP enhanced the biomechanical properties of SD and RS ANGs, being the crosslinked RS ANGs more comparable to the native nerves used as control. The evaluation of the ANGs biocompatibility conducted with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells cultured within the ANGs confirmed a high degree of biocompatibility in all ANGs, especially in RS and RS-GP 0.10% ANGs. Finally, this study demonstrates that the use of GP could be an efficient alternative to improve the biomechanical properties of ANGs with a slight impact on the biocompatibility and histological pattern. For these reasons, we hypothesize that our novel crosslinked ANGs could be a suitable alternative for future in vivo preclinical studies.

Soil damage caused by logging operations conducted to obtain and maximize economic benefits has been established as having long-term effects on forest soil quality and productivity. However, a comprehensive study of the impact of logging operations on earthworms as a criterion for soil recovery has never been conducted in the Hyrcanian forests of Iran. The aim of this study was to determine the changes in soil biological properties (earthworm density and biomass) and its recovery process under the influence of traffic intensity, slope and soil depth in various intervals according to age after logging operations. Soil properties were compared among abandoned skid trails with different ages (i.e., 3, 10, 20, and 25 years) and an undisturbed area. The results showed that earthworm density and biomass in the high traffic intensity and slope class of 20–30% at the 10–20 cm depth of the soil had the lowest value compared to the other treatments. Twenty-five years after the logging operations, the earthworm density at soil depth of 0–10 and 10–20 cm was 28.4% (0.48 ind. m−2) and 38.6% (0.35 ind. m−2), which were less than those of the undisturbed area, respectively. Meanwhile, the earthworm biomass at a soil depth of 0–10 and 10–20 cm was 30.5% (2.05 mg m−2) and 40.5% (1.54 mg m−2) less than the values of the undisturbed area, respectively. The earthworm density and biomass were positively correlated with total porosity, organic carbon and nitrogen content, while negatively correlated with soil bulk density and C/N ratio. According to the results, 25 years after logging operations, the earthworm density and biomass on the skid trails were recovered, but they were significantly different with the undisturbed area. Therefore, full recovery of soil biological properties (i.e., earthworm density and biomass) takes more than 25 years. The conclusions of our study reveal that the effects of logging operations on soil properties are of great significance, and our understanding of the mechanism of soil change and recovery demand that harvesting operations be extensively and properly implemented.

Different components of the mixed function oxidase (MFO) system and the levels of fluorescent aromatic compounds in bile (FACs) were measured in Cathorops spixii in order to assess the impact of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Fish were sampled in an estuary (Santos/São Vicente) with a history of contamination by PAHs, mainly due to the presence of the industrial complex of Cubatão city and of another of low anthropogenic influence (Cananéia) on the Brazilian coast. FACs were higher in fish from the polluted site, and the PAH 5 and 6-ring metabolites were the most frequent - with 14% and 15%, respectively. Levels of the different components of the MFO system showed the same variation profile as the FACs for both estuaries. Therefore, the values found for somatic indexes and biomarkers with data of bile PAH metabolites indicate the presence of organic contaminants, especially in the area subject to the influence of the industrial complex on the Santos/São Vicente estuary.

Scarcity and competition for good quality and potable water resources are limiting their use for urban landscape irrigation, with several nontraditional sources being potentially available for these activities. Some of these alternative sources include rainwater, stormwater, brackish aquifer water, municipal reclaimed water (MRW), air-conditioning (A/C) condensates, and residential graywater. Knowledge on their inherent chemical profile and properties, and associated regional and temporal variability, is needed to assess their irrigation quality and potential short- and long-term effects on landscape plants and soils and to implement best management practices that successfully deal with their quality issues. The primary challenges with the use of these sources are largely associated with high concentrations of total salts and undesirable specific ions [sodium (Na), chloride (Cl), boron (B), and bicarbonate (HCO3−) alkalinity]. Although the impact of these alternative water sources has been largely devoted to human health, plant growth and aesthetic quality, and soil physicochemical properties, there is emergent interest in evaluating their effects on soil biological properties and in natural ecosystems neighboring the urban areas where they are applied.

The impact on the biosphere of anthropogenic factors is a serious environmental problem. Today, pesticides are becoming one of the important chemical factors that cause adverse environmental changes. Pesticides enter the human body through a contaminated hydrosphere, atmosphere, and food. Modern man is not able to grow and maintain crops without the use of pesticides. Penetrating into the human body, they cumulate, thereby contributing to the creation of threatening health situations. Despite this, modern human civilization cannot do without them. The purpose of the review was to study the circulation volume of derivatives of thiram, such as vitalon, vitavaks, vitasil, vitaros, tir and TMTD (Tetramethylthiuram Disulfide) in the agricultural complex of the Kursk region for the period 2007-2016. The data obtained at the Kursk Regional Plant Protection Station, as well as agrochemical protection station Kurskaya, were subjected to statistical analysis using the application Statistica 6.0. Circulating volumes of thiram's derivatives were examined in agro-industrial complex of Kursk area over a 10-year period. The proportion of fungicides of thiram's series with the release of agrochemicals dominant in the structure of seed crops cultivation technologies was investigated. A study of the structure of sown areas with the allocation of priority crops grown in the region was conducted, the total number of which amounted 80.76%. The ranking of the region by thirams derivatives was made. All studied fungicidal products of thiram are widely used for the cultivation of crops in the Kursk region. Identified regions with the biggest amount of making this group of agrochemicals in the soil are treated as high anthropogenic load zone and require the development of environmental protection. The volume of circulation of the studying group of pesticides can be dangerous to humans and animals, influence the formation of peoples somatic pathologies.

The article covers the problems of the functioning of the banking sector of Ukraine during 2018-2021, as one of the main sectors of the financial market and the national economy as a whole. When analyzing the state of the banking sector, regularities and general trends in the functioning of the banking sector of Ukraine have been established, and appropriate calculations have been made. The impact of global financial crises on the activities of banking structures, which must operate in conditions of constant financial instability, is described. Today, the whole world, including Ukraine, is on the verge of a global financial and economic crisis. This raises the question of whether Ukrainian banks have the necessary margin of resilience to vulnerabilities to the financial and economic crisis. In recent years, the functioning and development of the banking system has been characterized by increased financial stability, the level of bank capitalization, liquidity, some improvement in asset quality, reducing risks in banking, as well as the presence of positive structural changes. Today, Ukraine's banking system operates in a complex socio-economic and legal environment, most of which - macroeconomic instability, irrational structure of the industrial complex, the crisis of science and technology, imperfect fiscal and monetary policy, low level of effective demand - complicate sustainable development banking sector and increase competitiveness. In conditions of instability, intensification of turbulent processes, the development of the banking system requires new innovative approaches to determining the mechanisms of effective functioning and stable development based on a system-synergetic approach, which led to the choice and relevance of the chosen topic of this scientific article. Efficiency of banks is a multicomponent, multifaceted, multidimensional system characteristic that depends on many factors and is an effective indicator of performance of functions and achievement of goals and objectives of banks development provided financial stability based on financial stability and dynamic balance, achievement of multiplicative and synergistic effects.

The rapidly increasing population growth and the steady increase in water requirements for agricultural and industrial development have placed severe stress on the water resources available and the long term use of sewage water for irrigation highly affects soil properties. In this study soil samples were collected from a cauliflower field prior and after sewage water irrigation, and the impact of sewage water irrigation on physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil was compared. For this, tested were pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Organic Carbon, available Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, Copper, Manganese, and microbial activity. Soil microbial biomass carbon, basal soil respiration, total viable count of bacteria, coliform population, Pseudomonas species, and Azotobacter significantly increased after sewage water irrigation as compared to prior to irrigation. Nevertheless, the bulk density and Rhizobium species of the soil flooded with sewage water was decreased relative to the same characteristics prior to irrigation. Cauliflower yield was significantly increased when sewage water flooded field as compared to the tube well water flooded field (i.e., water delivered via an iron pipe). Escherichia coli contamination was greater in sewage water and groundwater that can pose health risks for the nearby communities, to farmers and consumer of farm products. Hence, the efficient use of sewage and municipal wastewater successfully increase water resource for irrigation and may help in expanding agricultural production. But excessive use of sewage water may also affect the soil flora and fertility.

The subject of the study is to substantiate classifications of the factors of innovation development of the industry: according to the priority, traditional, barrier, according to the hierarchical level of innovation, the nature of supply demand for innovation, the peculiarity of the influence of factors on the market environment, the influence of factors on innovation localization, importance of innovations, the effect of innovation, nature of the impact, the power of influence, the type of competition, and other classifications of factors of innovation development of the industry. The need to intensify the development of Ukrainian industry in an innovative way requires the identification of the impact on these processes of various factors. To group these influences, the assessment of these factors should be done in the context of separate classes. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop a classification of innovative factors of industrial development. The purpose of the paper is to investigate and systematize the defining conditions for the activation of innovative development in the industrial sphere. The following methods were used in the work: dialectical method of scientific knowledge, analysis and synthesis, comparative, as well as the method of data generalization. It is proved that the complex non-use of these classifications for the substantiation of innovative development of the industry will improve the quality of planning and forecasting documentation and provisions of industrial policy. The applied meaning arising from the criteria for the classification of factors is based on their specific spatiotemporal and situational application, in particular, in conditions of imperfect competition. The classification of innovative factors of industrial development according to their priority is given. In this classification, the priority is determined by the importance and relevance of innovative industry development tasks on the basis of conclusions made as a result of the literature review. Summarizing the factors of innovation development in the barrier classification allows us to distinguish three aggregated groups of factors: socio-political and managerial, socio-economic, and financial. Our socio-economic analysis of innovative development factors of industry also allowed us to identify the following their classification attributes: the hierarchical level of innovation implementation, the character of demand for innovation, the nature of the impact on the market environment, the type of impact, the time horizon of action, impact on the area of innovation localization, the economic essence of innovation, the nature of the significance of innovation, innovation effect, the nature of effective impact, the power of influence, the type of competition.
