This paper studies chaos synchronization via unidirectional coupling. The self-synchronization of Lorenz systems, modified coupled dynamos systems and hyperchaotic Chen systems is studied by three methods: the Lyapunov function method, the global synchronization method and the numerical calculation of the largest Lyapunov exponent method. In regard to application to communication, we show that via transmitting single signal the synchronization of the drive system and the response system can be achieved. An example of applying self-synchronization of hyperchaotic Chen systems to chaotic masking secure communication is presented in this paper. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.

This Letter considers the problem of chaotic secure communication in the drive-response framework. The drive system can be augmented into a higher order system, and then a sliding mode observer based response system can be constructed to synchronize this augmented system. If they satisfy certain conditions, the hidden message can be recovered directly by the concept of equivalent control. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper considers an observer-based secure communication of chaotic systems with parameter mismatch, parametric perturbations and external disturbances on both transmitter and receiver systems. Based on the quadratic optimal control approach, a nonlinear observer is constructed to realize chaotic synchronization. The sufficient criterion for stability condition is formulated in two linear matrix inequality (LMI) forms. The error of the recovered message is then stated in an H∞ criterion. Using the proposed scheme, the global synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver can be obtained. Furthermore, the quadratic optimal and robust performance could be achieved in the chaos-based secure communication. Two numerical simulations of the Chua's circuit and the Rössler system verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Many people lose their life and/or are injured due to accidents or unexpected events taking place on road networks. Besides traffic jams, these accidents generate a tremendous waste of time and fuel. Undoubtedly, if the vehicles are provided with timely and dynamic information related to road traffic conditions, any unexpected events or accidents, the safety and efficiency of the transportation system with respect to time, distance, fuel consumption and environmentally destructive emissions can be improved. In the field of computer and information science, Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) have recently emerged as an effective tool for improving road safety through propagation of warning messages among the vehicles in the network about potential obstacles on the road ahead. VANET is a research area which is in more demand among the researchers, the automobile industries and scientists to discover about the loopholes and advantages of the vehicular networks so that efficient routing algorithms can be developed which can provide reliable and secure communication among the mobile nodes.In this paper, we propose a Groundwork Based Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (GAODV) focus on how the Road Side Units (RSU’s) utilized in the architecture plays an important role for making the communication reliable. In the interval of finding the suitable path from source to destination the packet loss may occur and the delay also is counted if the required packet does not reach the specified destination on time. So to overcome delay, packet loss and to increase throughput GAODV approach is followed. The performance parameters in the GAODV comes out to be much better than computed in the traditional approach.

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa rendah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan kurangnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran serta kurangnya kemampuan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah yang membutuhkan kemampuan analisis.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan awal siswa,2) setelah pembelajaran berlangsung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas yang menggunakan PjBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunkan metode ceramah, 3) peningkatan (N-Gain) kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas yang menggunakan PjBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode ceramah.Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan non-equivalent control group pretes-posttest design. Dengan jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 75 orang yaitu 38 siswa di kelas eksperimen, dan 37 siswa di kelas kontrol.Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut. Pertama, tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada tes awal terbukti dengan thitung=0,2616<ttabel=1,993. Kedua, setelah pembelajaran berlangsung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan metode PjBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran ceramah terbukti dengan thitung=4,375>ttabel=1,993. Ketiga, peningkatan (N-Gain) kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan metode PjBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran ceramah terbukti dengan thitung =5,173 > ttabel =1,993.Adapun saran dari penelitian ini yaitu, perlu adanya penjelasan yang mendalam dalam proses persiapan sehingga siswa tidak kesulitan dalam menyusun pertanyaan penyelidikan. Dalam penggunaan PjBL guru berperan sebagai fasilitator dan motivator sehingga dibutuhkan penguasaan materi dan pengelolaan kelas yang baik. Penggunaan metode PjBL meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis lebih tinggi dari metode ceramah sehingga disarankan guru untuk menerapkan metode ini yang disesuaikan dengan materi sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berkembang dan terlatih. Penyesuaian penggunaan metode pembelajaran dengan materi dapat menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai lebih optimal serta pengetahuan yang diperoleh siswa benar-benar melekat dan lebih bermakna.

Children with obesity have high risk to have abnormal cholesterol rate. Obesity and high cholesterol rate can cause cardiovascular disease at a later time. Children have normal rate of cholesterol if the cholesterol rate in the blood is <170 mg/dL, the threshold category between 170-199 mg/dL, and high category is >200 mg/dL. Soy Milk and avocado juice are the ways of non pharmacological care that can be applied to reduce cholesterol rate. This study aims to compare Soy Milk and avocado juice giving toward cholesterol rate in children with obesity in State Elementary School 1 and 2 of Katerban, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The study used quasi experiment design with non-equivalent control group framework. Samples of the study were 30 children taken by use purposive sampling. Soy Milk and avocado juice effective to reduce cholesterol level in obesity children (p value=0,000, p<0,05), but neither soy milk and avocado juice there’re no one that more effective to decrease cholesterol level (p value=0,902, p>0,05). 60% of respondent were male student age 11 years (36,7%). Father education were high. Soya milk and avocado juice are able to reduce cholesterol rate. Parents must give attention to children’s dietary intake to reduce cholesterol and obesity, also motivate them to do physical activity.

Teaching materials by integrating local culture makes easier for students to understand the subject matter in the learning process. The aims of the study is to measure the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students problem solving abilities. The research method was a quasi experimental which use non equivalent control group in the pretest posttest design. The sample of study were students of Senior High School grade X in Binjai that consisted of experiment group which used teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Teaching materials are tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of teaching materials. Data collection was conducted through test. The results showed that the teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students problem solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value was 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means teaching materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning activities.
