To clarify the effectiveness of feeding probiotic bifid-containing feed probiotic additives to young cattle, a scientific and economic experiment was organized in the experimental farm of the Moscow region, and in the scientific divisions of the L.K. Ernst Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry. Newborn calves were divided into 2 groups of 13 heads, taking into account the live weight. The probiotic bifid-containing feed additive under study contained a lyophilized microbial mass of live antagonistically active bacteria of the Bifidobacterium bifidum species (at least 1×109 CFU / ml of bifidobacteria). Feeding of the supplement was carried out in an amount of 10 ml per 1 head per day to young animals of the experimental group and contributed to an increase in the average daily gain of live weight by 14.9% compared to the control group. It was found that from the moment of birth to 3 months of age, the use contributed to 100% of the safety of calves, while in the control this indicator was 92.3%. The inclusion of probiotic in the diet of calves of the dairy period provided an optimal homeostatic and hematological background while improving the morphological and biochemical parameters of the blood. The indicators of immunity, including lysozyme and bactericidal activity, were higher in relation to the control by 11.8 and 4.23%, respectively. The inclusion of bifid supplements in the calves ' diet ensured the growth of lacto-and bifidobacteria in the intestines of animals, respectively, by 10.9 and 8.5%, against the background of suppression of undesirable microflora. Thus, feeding bifid-containing additives to calves from the first days of life increases their protective properties, prevents morbidity, which leads to an improvement in zootechnical production indicators.

The article represents the data on studying the effect of feed additive Acid Lac Dry, probiotic Prolam and their complex application to calves with hypotrophy during colostral period on intestinal microbiocenosis formation. Researches were carried out on 32 newborn calves with hypotrophy of Holstein-Frisian rocks, which formed 4 groups (n=8). The drugs were not used for the animals of the 1st (control) group. Calves of experimental groups were prescribed orally in the 1st week of life: Asid Lak Dry 15,0 gramms as an aqueous suspension (group 2), probiotic Prolam with colostrum (milk) 5...7 cm3 (3rd group), Asid Lak Dry in combination with Prolam at indicated doses (4th group). The 1st day the preparations were prescribed after the colostrum had been drunk, and Asid Lak Dry – in the following days. During the period of application of the feed additive and probiotics, antimicrobials drugs were not prescribed. A positive effect of both preparations and especially their combination on normobiosis formation is demonstrated. This significantly prophylaxed gastrointestinal diseases of animals and decreased the duration of their treatment under their emergence.

Medicinal extract has been chronicled extensively in traditional Chinese medicine. Isoquinoline alkaloids, extract ofMacleaya cordata(Willd.) R. Br., have been used as feed additive in both swine and poultry. Dietary supplementation with isoquinoline alkaloids increases feed intake and weight gain. In addition, recent researches have demonstrated that isoquinoline alkaloids can regulate metabolic processes, innate immune system, and digestive functioning in animals. This review summarizes the latest scientific researches on isoquinoline alkaloids which are extracted fromMacleaya cordata(Willd.) R. Br. This review specifically focuses on its role as a feed supplement and its associated impact on growth performance and innate immune system, as well as its capacity to act as a substitute for oral antibiotics.

The prophylactic efficacy of diarrhea in calves with different methods and doses of feed additive “EMBIOTIC” during the first 14 days of life was studied. Almost 50 % of dairy calves had symptoms of diarrhea. Effective treatment regimens for such animals included one of the antibiotics (azithromycin or 15 % amoxicillin emulsion) and, if necessary, sulfonamide drugs (trimeratinvet with the drugs sulfadimesine and trimethoprim) or the drug sulfate lozin, which includes sulfonamide and antibiotics (tylosin tartrate, oxytetracycline, sulfadimesine, trimethoprim). Simultaneously, symptomatic therapy was performed with the use of refinery – 10 % solution of ketoprofen in the form of the drug ketonil, which provided analgesia and reduction of body temperature to physiological limits. Еhere is always a drug cyanophore (LR butaphosphane and cyanocobalamin) as a general stimulant in the scheme. To conduct the experiment, 5 groups of animals were formed, 6 in each, age – the first day after birth. From the first to the 14th day of life, from the first or second colostrum, each calf from different groups was given daily 5 cm3, 10 cm3 and 15 cm3 of feed additive “EMBIOTIC”, respectively. The fourth experimental group – control (probiotic was not received), and the fifth – calves obtained from cows, which 10–14 days before and after calving daily with feed or water received 80–100 cm3 of feed additive “EMBIOTIC”, and calves the tested drug was not used. During the experiment twice a day (morning and evening), clinical observation and examination of calves of all experimental groups. Two days later, calves that received 5 cm3, 10 cm3 and 15 cm3 of feed additive “EMBIOTIC” were registered to improve appetite, increased mobility and prolonged and pronounced sleep. In animals that received with milk 10 cm3 and 15 cm3 of feed additives, during the observation period, disorders of the digestive system were not registered. Two calves, receiving 5 cm3 of EMBIOTICS daily, had symptoms of minor diarrhea for only 12 days, but there was no appetite. After 24 hours, the symptoms of indigestion went away on their own without the use of any drugs. Newborn calves obtained from cows that received “EMBIOTIC” as part of their diet or water were rated 9–10 on the Apgar scale. From the 3rd day they ate straw and they registered chewing gum for 3.7 ± 0.2 days of life. Within 14 days of observation of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, they were not registered. Thus, the feed additive “EMBIOTIC” provides prevention of diarrhea in calves.

The article presents the data obtained as a result of carrying by employees of the Research Institute of sheep and goat breeding, a branch of the FSBSI "North Caucasus FARC", the scientific and economic experience to study the efficiency of a new fodder additive "Organic" on the productive and physiological indices of bull-calves during the completion of growing in the conditions of the farm "Pata" agricultural enterprise in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. The statement of the experience and all researches were carried out according to generally accepted methods. In the course of the experiment, the following indices were studied: the chemical compound of forages, the dynamics of a live weight gain in the experimental stock, hematological parameters, control slaughter data, economic indices. Completed researches have shown positive result from the use of the fodder additive "Organic" in bull-calves diets: an increase in the average daily gain of live weight by 25%, a slaughter yield by 1% and a high level of profitability – 27%. Thus, the additional introduction of "Organic" in a diet of young horned cattle in the 2nd experimental group promoted more intensive metabolism, stabilization of a physiological state, increase in productivity and, as a consequence, profitability of beef production. Researches in this direction reveal the latent fodder reserves promoting increase in the productivity of agricultural animals.
