New Zealand’s sprawling urban development and high levels of car dependency have resulted in significant environmental impacts, including increased carbon emissions and pollution. Car sharing can support sustainable transport patterns by offering an alternative to private vehicle ownership. Internationally, it has become increasingly popular but is still in the early stages of development in New Zealand. A survey of 356 Wellington residents and interviews with 13 car share stakeholders collected data on interest in car sharing and barriers facing the service in New Zealand’s capital. The results suggest that car sharing could become an important mobility option in Wellington and further policy support for car sharing could enable Wellington to take full advantage of its benefits.

Car-sharing plays a positive role in reducing vehicle ownership and greenhouse gas emissions. However, the developmental contradictions between high investment and low revenues hinder the development of the car-sharing industry. Fully understanding car-sharing users can effectively ensure the healthy development of car-sharing companies and promote the development of the entire industry. To this end, this study attempts to develop a user management method that is based on user layering and prediction methods. By using order data from the Lan Zhou car-sharing company in China, this paper develops a clustering method for layering car-sharing users. A multi-layer perceptron model is also developed to categorize these users into different expenditure level categories while considering periodic features. Results show that new users can be divided into three categories according to their expenditures to car-sharing companies within 84 days. After 5 weeks of observation, the 84-day category of new users can be predicted with an accuracy of over 85%. These results provide scientific decision support for the user management and profitability of car-sharing companies.

Urban commuters are faced with diverse problems ranging from traffic jams, parking congestions, ownership responsibilities of vehicles etc. Urban mobility is in need of means that address the contemporary problems of the commuters and provide ubiquitous accessibility. This is the reason behind the success of car aggregators in urban regions of India. Car-sharing is an alternative to personal vehicle ownership. Car-sharing refers to accessing a car for money typically with the help of an online application. Car sharing provides an experience of enjoying all the benefits of a car without ownership responsibilities. Although there are many car-sharing providers around the world but remarkably car manufacturing companies like BMW, Ford, GM and others have also launched car sharing programs. This study is restricted to the car sharing programs launched by car manufacturing companies. Though such car sharing facilities by car manufacturing companies are not yet available in India yet this study attempts to identify its preference among the urban masses. The emergence of a few car sharing providers in India has been witnessed but the operational models are usually restricted to round trips. Many car manufacturing companies are using innovative car-sharing models like peer-to-peer model and fractional model which has enhanced accessibility and convenience. Our study provides a comprehensive understanding of the perceptions towards car sharing and its features in relation to the contemporary problems faced by commuters in Delhi NCR (India). The study also provides cluster level analysis based on the problems faced by commuters in order to map them to the solutions presented by existing and innovative transportation models. The findings of the study reveal that a huge majority of the commuters feel that Car Sharing Program could be an appropriate and better solution to the mobility problems. Moreover, a majority of them (62%) tend to prefer car sharing over online ride sharing cabs (like Uber). Notably, a majority (68.6%) of the respondents who usually commute through these online app based ride sharing cabs display preference for car sharing. This provides a plausible prognosis that car sharing models have a potential to capture a sizeable portion of the market from existing car aggregators (which is in accordance with the findings of Bert et al., 2016). Future research in this area could focus on the current trends related to existing car sharing models operating in India and its future. Also, any transition with regard to the perception of ownership of vehicles can also be taken up for further research

As the times and technology became more sophisticated, human needs and mobility also increased. One such technology is vehicle. It cannot be denied that motorized vehicles and cars have now become the most important parts of everyday life. Vehicle protection is very important to keep vehicles safe, especially in areas prone to theft. Protection of the vehicle itself is divided into two ways, namely by personal and insurance methods. The fact is that vehicle protection carried out by Desa Sayang residents is still very minimal, which is caused by a lack of knowledge and understanding of citizens about the importance of vehicle protection. Seen from only a few residents who have insurance services to protect their vehicles. Measuring the perceptions of residents of RW 03 Desa Sayang, Jatinangor Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency is divided into 2 things, namely knowledge (cognition) and behavior (konasi). Of the 97 informants interviewed, it was found that people's knowledge of insurance was not good. While their knowledge of vehicle protection in general is quite good. In addition, vehicle ownership also affects individual knowledge of insurance and vehicle protection. Unfortunately, protection of vehicles in the form of insurance is rarely done by residents because most are hampered in terms of costs and feel they do not need it. Therefore, a perception survey and vehicle protection socialization were made in Sayang Village, Jatinangor Sub-District, Sumedang Regency so that residents would be more aware of maintaining their vehicles.

This article summarizes the concept of sharing, bibliographic analysis of publications in the field of car-sharing based on the Scopus database. The primary purpose of the study is to study the economic and legal basis for the development of car-sharing business models in Ukraine. Systematization of literature sources and approaches devoted to the economic efficiency of the implementation of car-sharing business models has shown that in Ukraine, this issue is almost not paid attention to in the economic, scientific sphere, and legal, scientific areas. The urgency of solving this scientific problem lies in the need and ability to relieve road traffic from traffic jams, reducing the average downtime of vehicles, as well as economic benefits for entities (vehicle owners and passengers) involved in sharing business models. The research has the following logical sequence: the types of car-sharing business models were analyzed, and their comparative characteristics were carried out; the economic and legal preconditions of car-sharing business development in Ukraine are investigated. The research identifies legislative obstacles to the establishment of a car-sharing company in Ukraine. A SWOT analysis of the conditions for implementing a car-sharing business model in Ukraine was performed. It analyses the costs and efficiency of creating a business based on a car-sharing business model in Ukraine on a conditional example. We propose to use system-structural and comparative analysis to analyze the problems of modern transport, methods of formal-logical analysis for determining the directions of development of car-sharing business models, and economic method for assessing the effect and a payback period of the proposed project car-sharing business model. The study results can be useful for the development of the car-sharing business in Ukraine, for entrepreneurs, scientists, and vehicle owners. Keywords: car-sharing, car-sharing business model, car-sharing business, motor transport, hire, expenses, analysis.
