After the feverish archaeological activity of the Fascist era, the postwar years in Rome have been a period of relative calm. There have been a few major discoveries, such as the Vatican cemetery and the new catacomb of the Via Latina, the recently published account of which is unfortunately marred by the poor quality of the colour-plates, inexcusable in a volume of this price. On the whole, however, excavation has very sensibly been diverted to clearing up specific problems, notably in the Forum and Palatine, and students of Roman topography and monuments have had a chance to pause and take stock. The results of this much-needed stock-taking are just beginning to appear, and very valuable they are proving to be.One of the most important and remarkable monuments of classical antiquity to have come down to us, at any rate in part, is the great marble plan of Rome which Septimius Severus set up on the end wall of a large room opening off the south-west corner of the Forum of Peace, a wall which is now the outer south wall of the church of SS Cosmas and Damian. The fragments recovered since their first recognition in 1562 represent barely a tenth of the total inscribed surface, and many of these were lost before, in 1741, the collection passed from the Farnese family into the safe-keeping of the city authorities, and are known to us only from drawings. But what has survived is fundamental for the reconstruction of the topography of classical Rome and for the study of its lost monuments.

ABSTRACT Objective: To determine the prevalence of primary hyperhidrosis in the city of Botucatu, Brazil, and to evaluate how this disorder affects the quality of life in those suffering from it. Methods: A population survey was conducted in order to identify cases of hyperhidrosis among residents in the urban area of the city, selected by systematic cluster sampling. In accordance with the census maps of the city, the sample size should be at least 4,033 participants. Ten interviewers applied a questionnaire that evaluated the presence of excessive sweating and invited the subjects who reported hyperhidrosis to be evaluated by a physician in order to confirm the diagnosis. Results: A total of 4,133 residents, in 1,351 households, were surveyed. Excessive sweating was reported by 85 residents (prevalence = 2.07%), of whom 51 (60%) were female. Of those 85 respondents, 51 (60%) agreed to undergo medical evaluation to confirm the diagnosis and only 23 (45%) were diagnosed with primary hyperhidrosis (prevalence = 0.93%). Of the 23 subjects diagnosed with primary hyperhidrosis, 11 (48%) reported poor or very poor quality of life. Conclusions: Although the prevalence of self-reported excessive sweating was greater than 2%, the actual prevalence of primary hyperhidrosis in our sample was 0.93% and nearly 50% of the respondents with primary hyperhidrosis reported impaired quality of life.

ABSTRACT Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the models and plannings of metallic framework of removable partial prosthesis sent to dental laboratories in the city of Recife. Methods: The physical and technical conditions of plaster models were sent by the dentists to 4 dental laboratories. All models were examined, photographed and recorded on a form according to the research objective. Results: A total number of 235 models sent by dental surgeons were used to prepare the metallic structure, in which none of the models presented surveying nor the path of insertion. Out of the 235 models, 41 (17.44%) presented serious failures, such as positive and negative bubbles, broken dental elements, direct retainers and damaged edentulous areas. With respect to the planning, only 22 (9.35%) models were presented with the metallic framework planning, but in an unsatisfactory way. Regarding mouth preparation, no model presented a guide plane, and only 6.8% of models had rests seats, but incorrectly prepared. Conclusion: The models evaluated presented poor quality, lack of planning and no mouth preparation. This shows the need for dental surgeons to be aware of the appropriate prosthesis models and plannings in order to ensure a satisfactory and long-term rehabilitation of the patient, as well as preserving the remaining mouth structures.

ABSTRACT:The process of making decisions about cities during the bombing of World War II, in its immediate aftermath and in the early post-war years remains a phenomenon that is only partly understood. The bombing left many church buildings damaged or destroyed across the UK. The Church of England's churches within the City of London, subject to a complex progression of deliberations, debates and decisions involving several committees and commissions set up by the bishop of London and others, are used to review the process and product of decision-making in the crisis of war. Church authorities are shown to have responded to the immediate problem of what to do with these sites in order most effectively to provide for the needs of the church as an organization, while simultaneously considering other factors including morale, culture and heritage. The beginnings of processes of consulting multiple experts, if not stakeholders, can be seen in this example of an institution making decisions under the pressures of a major crisis.

The strong connection between people and place provides fodder for literary producers to create their works. In his anthology of poems Ruang Kota , Nassury Ibrahim draws upon Kuala Lumpur as the place that allows him to delve into the study of self and other people. Using psychogeography as an analytical tool, this article examines how Kuala Lumpur affects the mental states and behaviors of the people living in the heart of the urban city. Nassury’s poems deal with many aspects of life which include poverty, pollution and humanity. Other than his experiences, the poet uses the landscape of the city to express his own perspectives and feelings towards Kuala Lumpur. Based on the analysis, Kuala Lumpur is portrayed as a city that has developed materially but its dwellers benevolence and compassion have lessened greatly. His poems highlight urban poverty and poor urban planning in Kuala Lumpur which have led to poor quality of life in this cosmopolitan city. Keywords: psychogeography, urban poor, Kuala Lumpur Abstrak Hubungan erat antara sebuah masyarakat dengan tempat menjadi sumber inspirasi untuk pengkarya sastera menghasilkan karya. Abstract Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus) breeding on a city centre church in Exeter, in the south-west of England, have been studied in detail since first occupation in 1997. During this period, changes in both male and female falcons have been recorded. Following the arrival of a new female Peregrine in 2009, a dramatic change in behaviour towards Common Buzzards (Buteo buteo) on passage over the city was noted. Buzzards flying over Exeter are attacked by the falcons, especially so when in proximity to the church. We have attempted to document these attacks through our own observations, with additional information from local residents and wildlife organisations. Further records have come from veterinary surgeries and wildlife rehabilitators regarding injured buzzards found in the city. This paper documents the extreme levels of territorial aggression as demonstrated by the pair of Peregrines during cooperative attacks on Buzzards. We reveal this unique interspecific behaviour by summarising the number, frequency, timing and outcome of attacks undertaken over an eight-year period. We describe and illustrate the strategy employed by the Peregrines during a typical attack, plus consider implications on breeding productivity and the future scenarios should one of the current pair be replaced.

Environmental perception study: different perspectives about water bodies in municipalities in Northeast Brazil Abstract Environmental perception emerged as a means of identifying the relationship between individuals and the environment, seeking to verify the ways in which people perceive the environment. It is also a way to verify the forms as people perceive the environment. This study aims to identify aspects related to the environmental perception of water bodies in the cities of Palmeirais-PI and Beneditinos-PI, in order to discuss the frequency, preservation actions, water quality of the Parnaíba river and the Taboquinha reservoir, respectively. Therefore, the research was carried out with students from a school in the city of Palmeirais-PI and citizens of the city of Beneditinos-PI. For such research, a structured questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument in both cities. Given this assumption, the results showed that, although most students know the Parnaíba River, they are unaware of the occurrence of water pollution prevention actions promoted by the school. In addition, for students, walking and recreation activities are the ones that most suggest the utility of the waters of the Parnaíba River, while educational use is almost non-existent. In this sense, it is observed that these students are distant from part of their local reality. With regard to the results obtained with users of the Taboquinha reservoir, in the city of Beneditinos-PI, there was an absence of environmental preservation actions, given that the residents mention the poor quality of the water. Thus, it was concluded that there is a need to implement public policies to raise awareness among the weir visitors, in order to preserve the environment and still maintain local tourism. The sources and degree of microbial contamination of 4 th range products or ready-to-eat products made from traditional processes were evaluated in three markets in the city of Abidjan. This study initially consisted of searching for microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, faecal coliforms, E. coli and Salmonella spp. Then, Ishikawa's method or diagram was used to determine potential sources of food contamination consisting of three (3) fruit and two (2) fruit vegetables and one (1) leafy vegetable, respectively, pineapple (Ananas comosus) papaya (Carica papaya), watermelon (Citrulus lanatus), onion (Allium cepa), tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) and amaranthus (Amaranthus hybridus). Fecal coliform loads were very high at the fruit level (1.8 × 103 - 9.1 × 102 CFU / g), onion (1.3 × 104 CFU / g), tomato puree (1, 82 × 103 CFU / g) and an E. coli load at the tomato puree which is 9.1 × 102 CFU / g. The analysis using the Ishikawa diagram shows that contamination sources were the poor quality of water, raw material, lack of sanitation, illiteracy, unsafe traditional practices and sellers hygiene.

A survey was conducted (2012 to 2014) in the City of Tshwane in order to assess and evaluate determinants of adequate municipal services that are routinely provided to operators of start-up business enterprises. Data used in the report come from 1.058 small businesses. The aim of research is to assess and evaluate the relationship between the quality of services and sustained viability in small business enterprises. The study was conducted against the background of a high failure rate among newly established small businesses in the City of Tshwane. The study showed that there was a significant association between positive perception of business operators on the quality of municipal services provided to them and viability of businesses. The percentage of viable business enterprises that were satisfied with the quality of services provided to them was 87%. The percentage of non-viable business enterprises that were satisfied with the quality of services provided to them was only 13%. Profitability in business enterprises was significantly affected by lack of capacity for fulfilling the business and entrepreneurial needs of newly established businesses [hazard ratio = 3.58; P = 0.000; 95% C. I. = (1.45, 5.46)], inappropriate policy [hazard ratio = 3.19; P = 0.000; 95% C. I. = (1.39, 5.28)], and lack of tailor made training programs directed at newly established small businesses [hazard ratio = 2.89; P = 0.000; 95% C. I. = (1.24, 4.77)]. In-depth interviews conducted with business operators led to similar findings. Keywords: city of Tshwane, small businesses, municipal services, perception, hazard ratio. When Augustine came to Kent in 597, bringing to its inhabitants the good news of the Gospel, he came as the emissary of St Gregory the Great for the conversion of England. Within four years of his arrival, and probably as soon as the news of Æthelbert’s baptism had reached Rome, St Gregory had despatched a carefully worked-out scheme for the ordering of the Church among the English. Augustine was to set up a metropolitan see at London with authority over twelve dioceses, and, wrote St Gregory, ‘we wish you to send to the city of York a bishop, the choice of whom we leave to you, on the understanding that if this city and the surrounding lands shall receive the word of God, he also shall establish twelve bishops and enjoy metropolitan authority.’
