The current study aimed to assess the components of the intervention program “Aquatic”, targeted at the reduction of bottled water use in adolescence. The Comprehensive Action Determination Model was chosen as a theory of change for the development and evaluation of pro-environmental behavior intervention. We examined the impact of five experimental intervention factors (water bottles, promo video, prompts, goal setting, and feedback) on eight intervention program outcomes: Perceived behavioral control, Social norm, Habit, Awareness of need, Awareness of consequence, Personal norm, Intention, and Behavior. The study sample consisted of 419 adolescents (52.8% girls, Mage = 15.21, SDage = .64) from Lithuania. A factorial experimental study design was used, and a Latent change modeling approach was applied for the evaluation of individual and combined effects of intervention components. Promo video, Prompts, and Goal setting had a positive effect on Awareness of consequence, Social norm, and Awareness of need, respectively. Receiving a Water bottle in combination with the Promo video had a positive effect on Perceived behavioral control and in combination with Prompts as well as Goals – on Awareness of need. Water bottles, Promo-video, Prompts, and Goals, but not Feedback, had value in the promotion of targeted pro-environmental outcomes.

Abstract Background In China, as the “gatekeepers”of rural residents’ health, the primary-level village doctors, play a very crucial role in ensuring and serving the health level of rural residents. However, the burnout of village doctors is gravely threatening the stability of rural primary medical system step by step. This study systematically evaluated the effects of personality, work engagement and alexithymia on burnout of village doctors, and further measured and assessed the mediating effect of alexithymia and work engagement in the association between personality and burnout. Methods The subjects were 2684 village doctors in Jining, Shandong Province, China, from May to June 2019. Sociodemographic characteristics, alexithymia, personality, work engagement and job burnout were quantitated by self-completed questionnaire and measured by Likert 5–7 scale. One-way ANOVA, Person correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used for statistical analysis and mediating effect evaluation. Results 2693 questionnaires were collected in total, of which 2684 were valid, with an effective rate of 96.2%. 65.2% of village doctors were diagnosed with burnout, and 54.3% showed moderate to severe emotional exhaustion, 61.6% showed moderate to severe low sense of personal achievement, and 33.9% showed moderate to severe depersonalization burnout. Personality had a direct positive effect on work engagement (β = 0.50, p < 0.001), a direct negative effect on alexithymia (β = − 0.52, p < 0.001) and burnout (β = − 0.50, p < 0.001) respectively. Work engagement had a direct negative effect on burnout (β = − 0.10, p < 0.001), while alexithymia had a direct positive effect on burnout (β = 0.16, p < 0.001). In the path between personality and burnout, both work engagement 95%CI:(− 0.17)–(− 0.08), and alexithymia 95%CI:(− 0.36)–(− 0.09), have significant mediating effects. These results strongly confirm that personality, alexithymia, and work engagement are early and powerful predicators of burnout. Conclusion According to the results, medical administrators should pay attention to the personality characteristics of village doctors in vocational training, practice selection and job assignment, encourage village doctors to reflect on their own personality actively, and to reduce job burnout by obtaining necessary social support, constructing reasonable achievable career expectations, improving time management ability, and participating in psychological counselling programs.

This study presents two-year follow-up results of the Adolescent Decision-Making Program initially implemented when students were in their sixth grade. The intervention was found to maintain a positive effect on mean tobacco use, but no differences were observed for mean alcohol, marijuana, or hard drug use. In a test of the differential effectiveness of the intervention, program students living with married parents reported lower mean tobacco use than control students living with married parents and program and control students living with single parents. Logistic regression analyses examining the proportion of users at follow-up revealed a negative program effect for alcohol and no differences for the other substances. Subsequent attrition analyses strongly suggested that the positive effect for tobacco use at follow-up was most likely even stronger, and that the negative effect for alcohol was spurious. The importance of examining both program and attrition effects when evaluating the impact of longitudinal preventive interventions was emphasized, and the need to consider alternative models to guide the conceptualization and evaluation of adolescent substance use prevention programs was discussed.

Strengthening early math skills in preschoolers, a Chilean study. Abstract: The article describes the positive effect in an intervention program based on number comprehension in early math skill levels that Chilean preschoolers present in the relational and numerical skill areas evaluated with the Test of Early Mathematics Assessment Utrecht (TEMT-U), the Spanish version of the Utrecht Early Numeracy Test. The study reveals that there are significant differences in the early math skills levels among those groups subjected to this type of program and those that in the same period of time were only influenced by the content and activities of the traditional curriculum sequence in the Chilean school population. There are positive effects in the program regardless of the educational level that children attend. There are also relational or skills Piagetian that show higher achievement levels. The results prove that there are no differences in mathematical literacy levels between boys and girls, contrary to what is observed in later years.

Abstract Background: In China, grass-roots village doctors, as the gatekeepers of rural residents' health, play an important role in guaranteeing and serving the health level of rural residents. However, the serious burnout and high turnover rate of village doctors threaten the stability of village medical teams. This research evaluated the influence of personality, alexithymia and work engagement on the burnout of village doctors in an in-depth and detailed way, and explored the mediating role of work engagement and alexithymia between personality and the burnout of village doctors in China. Methods: During May and June 2019, 2,684 rural doctors in 1,345 rural clinics in Jining city, Shandong Province, were studied using a quantitative study self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire included demographic and sociological characteristics, personality, alexithymia, work engagement and burnout, and was measured by 5-7 Likert scale. One-way ANOVA, Person correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used for statistical analysis. Results: Up to 54.3% of the surveyed rural doctors showed moderate to severe emotional exhaustion, 90.5% of them had moderate to severe sense of low personal achievement and 33.9% of them had moderate to severe depersonalization burnout. Personality has a direct positive effect on work engagement (β=0.50, p<0.001), but has a direct negative effect on alexithymia (β=-0.52, p<0.001) and burnout (β=-0.50, p<0.001) respectively. Work engagement has a direct negative effect on burnout (β=-0.10, p<0.001), while alexithymia has a direct positive effect on burnout (β=0.16, p<0.001). In the path between personality and burnout, both work engagement, 95%CI:(−0.17)–(−0.08), and alexithymia 95%CI:(−0.36)–(−0.09), have significant mediating effects. The above results strongly confirmed that personality, alexithymia, and work engagement were early, powerful predicators of burnout. Conclusion: According to the results, medical administrators should pay attention to the personality characteristics of village doctors in their professional training, practice selection and job assignment and encourage doctors to actively reflect on their own personality and to reduce job burnout by obtaining necessary social support, constructing reasonably achievable career expectations, improving time management and participating in psychological counselling programs.

The objective this article is to verify the effects of an intervention program with exergames on the motor performance of children aged 8 to 10 years. The study included 64 children divided into experimental group and physical education group. The motor intervention used in this study was an exergame program with 18 sessions lasting 45 minutes each, twice a week. To evaluate motor performance before and after the intervention, the authors used the Test of Gross Motor Development - Second Edition (TGMD-2). This study showed a positive effect on the motor performance of children ages 8 to 10 years. However, no significant differences were found in relation to the effect of exergames intervention in the experimental group when compared to the physical education group that participated in PE classes. The results of this study indicate that exergames are effective tools for the significant improvement of motor skills.

There are five districts with the highest stunting rate in North Sumatra and in Langkat district by 38.7 percent in 2017. This research looks at the analysis of the implementation of specific and sensitive nutrition intervention programs to reduce stunting rates in langkat. This research is a qualitative study with a phenomological design using purposive sampling method with 8 informants with the criteria of program implementers and field implementers and the community using CFIR tools to see the implementation of specific and sensitive nutrition intervention programs to reduce stunting in toddlers in Langkat. From the analysis of 31 CFIR constructs, there are 6 strong constructs of influence, where 4 constructs have a positive effect, namely the characteristics of the agency structure, pressure to change, self-confidence, program adoption and 2 constructs have a negative effect, namely external networks and external needs and incentives. There are 4 constructs that have a weak but very impactful effect where 3 constructs have a negative effect, namely the impact and desired change, the involvement of the leader and available resources and 1 construction has a positive effect, namely the level of individual change on the reduction of stunting rates in children under five in Langkat. However, improvements are needed in terms of cooperation between agencies, budgeting, additional special programs outside the specific and sensitive nutrition intervention program, the appointment of a special program leader and support for facilities, infrastructure and human resources for the implementation of the specific and sensitive nutrition intervention program in Langkat district.

The Juvenile Intervention Program represents an attempt to intervene in the development of juvenile drug dependence. The program involves the early identification of juvenile drug abusers followed by the recruitment of the juveniles and their parents into the program. The program utilizes the principles of family involvement and peer pressure throughout the program, while the basis of the program involves the education of the participants in such areas as family architecture, family communication patterns and drug knowledge. The results indicate that the program had a positive effect on the parents with no significant changes among the juveniles. It is hypothesized that the changes that have been initiated within the parents will have a positive effect on the juveniles at the six month follow-up.

Abstract What words come to mind when students are asked about aging? Wrinkles, grumpy, gray. What words come to mind when students are asked about aging after Disrupt Aging Classroom? Wise, wisdom, opportunity. Disrupt Aging Classroom is a successful curriculum created by AARP Connecticut and Borrow My Glasses to help dispel the myths of aging among college students in multiple disciplines. In comparison to a control group, pre-and post-test results show college students’ perceptions of aging change to a more positive frame after being exposed to this intervention administered in the classroom. There is also evidence to suggest that this program has a positive effect on behavior with students reporting they talked differently about aging and acted differently toward older adults since participating in this program. Presenters will describe the curriculum as well as the evaluation design and results collected in 2018-2019 from this successful intervention program.
