Copper and iron promoted ZrO2 catalysts were prepared by one-pot synthesis using urea. The studied catalysts were characterized by XRD, N2 physisorption, XPS, temperature-programmed desorption of NH3 (NH3-TPD), and tested by the selective catalytic reduction by ammonia (NH3-SCR) of NO in the absence and presence of water vapor, under the experimental conditions representative of exhaust gases from stationary sources. The influence of SO2 on catalytic performance was also investigated. Among the studied catalysts, the Fe-Zr sample showed the most promising results in NH3-SCR, being active and highly selective to N2. The addition of SO2 markedly improved NO and NH3 conversions during NH3-SCR in the presence of H2O. The improvement in acidic surface properties is believed to be the cause.

The paper studies the influence of the geometric parameters of the mixer on the mixing process, the construction of the mixing body, its location in the mixer bulk, and the mixer shape and geometry. The technique of calculating the power spent on mixing the foam concrete mixture is described. The effects of the ratio of the mixture height to the mixer diameter, the number and width of reflective partitions, and the shape of the conical part of the mixer on the homogeneity of the foam concrete mixture and the power consumption are considered. The optimal ratios of the foam concrete mixture height to the mixer diameter have been determined. Moreover, the optimal range of the ratios of the partition width to the mixer diameter has been established, in order to obtain a homogeneous foam concrete mixture throughout the volume with lower energy consumption. The optimal values of the angle of the mixer conical part for the preparation of a foam concrete mixture have been determined.

A facile, one-pot solvent-mediated hydrothermal process was adopted to prepare nickel sulfide nanoparticles decorated on reduced graphene oxide (NixSy/rGO) as electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The designed solvent (ethylene glycol and deionized water) played a decisive role in controlling both crystalline phase and morphology of NixSy/rGO composites, leading to pure [Formula: see text]-NiS nanoparticles uniformly distributed on rGO sheets under suitable volume ratio of ethylene glycol and deionized water (2:1). The optimized [Formula: see text]-NiS/rGO showed prominent HER catalytic performance with a rather small Tafel slope of 93[Formula: see text]mV/decade and prominent current density of 10[Formula: see text]mA/cm2 at the overpotential of 177[Formula: see text]mV in alkaline environments when compared to pristine [Formula: see text]-NiS and NiS2/rGO catalysts. The excellent catalytic performance and long-term durability even after 8000 cycles confirmed the potential of [Formula: see text]-NiS/rGO composites as efficient electrocatalysts for HER in the alkaline media.

<p>This work aims to prepare a new bimetallic phosphate catalyst using a new simple and effective method. This new catalyst was ready for the first time by a modification of Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) fertilizer with silver sulfate (AgSO4), followed by the impregnation of the aluminum atoms using aluminum nitrate (Al(NO3)3). The use of Al/Ag3PO4, for the first time as a heterogeneous catalyst in organic chemistry, offers a new, efficient, and green pathway for synthesizing 1,2-dihydro-l-phenyl-3H-naphth[1,2-e]-[1,3]oxazin-3-one derivatives by one-pot three-component cyclocondensation of b-naphthol, aryl aldehyde, and urea. The structure and the morphology of the prepared catalyst were characterized by spectroscopic methods such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and dispersive X-ray spectrometry coupled with a scanning electron microscope (EDX-SEM). In addition, the optimization of the reaction parameters was carried out considering the effect of catalyst amount, the temperature, and the solvent. The procedure described herein allowed a comfortable preparation of oxazine derivatives with excellent yields, short reaction times, and in the absence of organic solvent.</p>

Tungsten-containing functional mesoporousW-SiO2 have been successfully synthesized by an one-pot and facile room-temperature procedure. These materials presented a high dispersion of tungsten species and excellent catalytic activity on the removal of sulfur compounds without any organic solvents as extractants. The catalytic performance on sulfur compounds was investigated in detail. After recycling for 8 times, the removal of the oxidation desulfurization system could still reach 92.0%.

An ionic lamellar coordination polymer based on a flexible triphosphonic acid linker, [Gd(H4nmp)(H2O)2]Cl2 H2O (1) (H6nmp stands for nitrilo(trimethylphosphonic) acid), presents high efficiency to remove sulfur and nitrogen pollutant compounds from model diesel. Its oxidative catalytic performance was investigated using single sulfur (1-BT, DBT, 4-MDBT and 4,6-DMDBT, 2350 ppm of S) and nitrogen (indole and quinolone, 400 ppm of N) model diesels and further, using multicomponent S/N model diesel. Different methodologies of preparation followed (microwave, one-pot, hydrothermal) originated small morphological differences that did not influenced the catalytic performance of catalyst. Complete desulfurization and denitrogenation were achieved after 2 h using single model diesels, an ionic liquid as extraction solvent ([BMIM]PF6) and H2O2 as oxidant. Simultaneous desulfurization and denitrogenation processes revealed that the nitrogen compounds are more easily removed from the diesel phase to the [BMIM]PF6 phase and consequently, faster oxidized than the sulfur compounds. The lamellar catalyst showed a high recycle capacity for desulfurization. The reusability of the diesel/H2O2/[BMIM]PF6 system catalyzed by lamellar catalyst was more efficient for denitrogenation than for desulfurization process using a multicomponent model diesel. This behavior is not associated with the catalyst performance but it is mainly due to the saturation of S/N compounds in the extraction phase.
