This paper will give a solution of measurement and control system based on FPGA embedded system for the Plastic Material Dynamic High-speed Tensile Machine (PMDHTM) with 1-100s-1strain rate range. Using sub-modules design of Nios II soft-wore and SOPC to build measurement and control system. The state machine algorithm and servo drive device are applied to accomplish precise state control of the linear shaft motor. Collecting the stress data online and non-contacting strain measurement is adopted. The test result can well meet the linear motor control response demand below the 5Hz frequency. Compared with other control based on SCM, DSP and so on, it supplies an innovation way for the PMDHTM control.

PC-based data acquisition systems are used in a wide variety of applications. In laboratories, in field services and in manufacturing facilities, these systems act as general-purpose measurement and control tools well suited for measuring voltage signals. Teaching and learning experiences may be enhanced by integrating new-technologies in the engineering curriculum, particularly in experimental-type courses. By installing plug-in data acquisition boards and signal-conditioning hardware, and appropriate software, the general-purpose computers become enormously flexible virtual-instruments with data acquisition and analysis capability. This paper describes a Computer-Aided Testing System which uses a commercially available A/D board to offer users a wide array of measurement and control capabilities. It can be used for making repeated high speed measurement, controlling motors or teaching data acquisition.

In order to meet the high speed, high precision, high reliability of the packaging machine, a novel control system is provided. In the hardware, the main circuits consisted of main processor module, memory module, temperature measurement and control module, input signal detection module, material split packing module, output driver module, human-machine interface module, system monitor module, power module and JTAG debug module, etc. In the software, the multi-tasking operating system μC/OS-Ⅱ and the graphical user interface μC/GUI were successfully transplanted into LPC2478. Then an experimental platform was established. And many control tasks, including automatic measurement, making bags, loading, transferring, pumping vacuum, sealing and data display, were automatically and continuously executed on the platform. Finally the results show: the machine can package 30 packets (5 g per packet) in a minute; the packaging errors ≤ 0.2 g; the packaging qualified rates ≥ 93%. In conclusion, the system performance is good.
