This paper expounds the background and significance of the national standard of the development on the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for submersible pushing-flow agitator and rotary aerator in wastewater treatment, and introduces the general principle of the standard, the determination of the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency, the division of the energy efficiency grades for them, as well as the testing and calculation methods. It hopes to eliminate the production of the high energy consumption sewage treatment equipment, and enhance their level of the energy efficiency effectively through development and implementation of the national standard.

This paper demonstrates the background and the significance on the national standard research on the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for air cleaners. The study also introduces the general thinking and principle of the standard development the determination of the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency, the classification of the energy efficiency grades for air cleaners, as well as the testing methods, which would help to eliminate the production of the high energy consumption air cleaner products, and effectively improve their level of the energy efficiency through the developing and implementation of the national standard.

Gas-permeable film can separate air and water, and at the same time, let oxygen diffuse from the air to the water through the film. An oxygen supply method using this film was investigated for the purpose of reducing energy consumption for wastewater treatment. The oxygen transfer rate was measured for the cases with or without biofilm, which proved the high rate of oxygen transfer in the case with nitrifying biofilm which performed nitrification. When the Gas-permeable film with nitrifying biofilm was applied to the treatment of wastewater, denitrifying biofilm formed on the nitrifying biofilm, and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred, resulting in the high rate of organic matter and T-N removal (7 gTOC/m2/d and 4 gT-N/m2/d, respectively). However, periodic sloughing of the denitrifying biofilm was needed to keep the oxygen transfer rate high. Energy consumption of the process using the film in the form of tubes was estimated to be less than 40% of that of the activated sludge process.

Traditional methods for wastewater treatment are associated with high energy consumption. This is why biological treatment of water is more appropriate at the moment. In our previous study, oxidation and reduction of pollutants have been proposed to be carried out in a microbial fuel cell (MFC) designed by our laboratory that simultaneously purifies wastewater from sulfide and nitrate ions and generates electricity. The experiments were carried out with two types of electrodes, graphite rods and paddling of activated carbon using a Fumapem® FFA-3-PK-75 (OH- form) membrane. The results show that the cell has higher energy output when using paddling of activated carbon as an electrode.

In view of high energy consumption situation in the apparel industry in the background of cyclic economy, the author conducts technical experiment for clothing style change according to transformation design of clothing structure elements, and establishes the environmental protection philosophy of enabling raw materials for one garment to satisfy the function of raw materials for two or more garments. This not only maximizes the energy efficiency of clothing materials, but also optimizes life cycle of products, and accordingly promotes the energy-saving and environment-friendly eco-civilization construction in the apparel industry.

A long-distance natural gas pipeline system consists of considerable equipment and many pipe segments, but the conventional energy efficiency index of a natural gas pipeline is considered as a whole. Because the specific energy consumption of each unit cannot be determined, the index system is not perfect, and evaluating the energy efficiency of a natural gas pipeline system is difficult. The energy efficiency evaluation model for a natural gas pipeline was established using the analytic hierarchy process. A judgment matrix was constructed based on the energy efficiency index system of a long-distance natural gas pipeline, and the weight coefficient was calculated using the characteristic root method. Then, the consistency of the established judgment matrix was verified. The energy efficiency evaluation model successfully quantified the qualitative factors that affect natural gas pipelines. The comprehensive energy efficiency coefficient G of the natural gas pipeline was obtained from the operational data of the natural gas pipeline; then, the equipment or pipe segments with high energy consumption can be identified. The energy efficiency evaluation program of the natural gas pipeline was developed using Visual Basic for Applications, which significantly reduced the evaluation workload. The natural gas pipeline energy efficiency evaluation model is used to evaluate the energy efficiency of a natural gas pipeline, to identify the high energy consumption equipment or pipe segments, and to propose measures to improve the energy efficiency. The results show that the gas pipeline energy efficiency evaluation model and evaluation procedures can identify high energy consumption equipment or pipe sections in complex natural gas pipelines.

AbstractTo solve the problem of high-energy consumption in activated sludge wastewater treatment, a reinforcement learning-based particle swarm optimization (RLPSO) was proposed to optimize the control setting in the sewage process. This algorithm tries to take advantage of the valid history information to guide the behavior of particles through a reinforcement learning strategy. First, an elite network is constructed by selecting elite particles and recording their successful search behavior. Then the network is trained and evaluated to effectively predict the particle velocity. In the periodic wastewater treatment process, the RLPSO runs repeatedly according to the optimized cycle. Finally, RLPSO was tested based on Benchmark Simulation Model 1 (BSM1) of sewage treatment, and the simulation results showed that it could effectively reduce the energy consumption on the premise of ensuring qualified water quality. Furthermore, the performance of RLPSO was analyzed using the benchmarks with higher dimension, which verifies the effectiveness of the algorithm and provides the possibility for RLPSO to be applied to a wider range of problems.

The main problem of existing methyl chlorosilane separation process is high energy consumption and low products purity. Based on the column grand composite curve is established by Aspen Plus and combined with the process integration technology, a modification of the process is proposed to improve the energy efficiency. Compared with the original process, the total condense and reboiler duty decrease by 8.47%, 8.96% respectively.

The main energy efficiency problems of existing houses in domestic economy are discussed. This article presents the housing renovation projects experience in the European countries. Renovation is one of the most effective method of energy efficient of the old building. But in Ukraine this effective mechanism is not worked. Implementation of the renovation mechanism in Ukraine is practically not carried out legislation and lack of regulatory framework. The issues of reduce energy resourses in residential buildsing are very important not only in Ukraine but in other European countries. The problem of low housing supply is additionally compounded by the problem of high energy consumption of excising housing.This raises many issues related to the implementation of this program. The energy characteristics of excising housings are given. Comparative information on housing for the population are shown.

O conforto dos usuários de um ambiente costuma estar atrelado a um alto consumo de energia constituindo um possível problema ambiental. A bioclimatologia é uma das táticas utilizadas para reduzir o consumo de energia com máximo conforto para os usuários através do projeto arquitetônico. Existem normas e diretrizes que especificam estratégias de desempenho térmico, entre elas, a NBR 15220 (ABNT, 2005) é uma norma brasileira que apresenta recomendações para diferentes regiões e zonas bioclimáticas do país. Além dela, existe a NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013), a Portaria n° 18 de 2012 (RTQ-R: Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética em Edificações Residenciais) e o Selo Casa Azul. Este trabalho avaliou as diretrizes construtivas de todas essas publicações para a Zona Bioclimática 6 (ZB6), onde se encontra a cidade de Catalão, objetivando encontrar as melhores estratégias arquitetônicas que podem ser implantadas nas casas de classe média dessa cidade. Utilizou-se o software DLN e dados do INMET para avaliação da orientação solar e dos ventos verificando as recomendações mais pertinentes para Catalão e região. Entre os resultados encontrados estão os tipos de vedações e coberturas, estratégias de condicionamento e posicionamento e dimensionamento das aberturas. A principal contribuição deste estudo foi identificar as características necessárias a um projeto arquitetônico, que atende a bioclimatologia, possibilitando maior eficiência energética para a ZB6, com destaque à cidade de Catalão. Abstract The comfort of users of an environment is usually linked to a high energy consumption, which constitutes a true environmental problem. The bioclimatology is one strategy used to reduce energy consumption with maximum comfort to users through the architectural design. There are standard and guidelines that specify thermal performance strategies, including the NBR 15220 (ABNT, 2005) is a Brazilian standard that makes recommendations for different regions and bioclimatic zones of the country. Beyond it, there is the NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013) Portaria n°. 18 of 2012 (RTQ-R: Quality Technical Regulation for Energy Efficiency of Residential Buildings in level) and the Blue House Seal. This work assessed the constructive guidelines of all these publications to the bioclimatic zone 6, where it is the city of Catalão, aiming at finding the best architectural strategies that can be deployed in middle-class houses of this city. It was used the DLN software and INMET data for evaluation of solar orientation and wind orientation looking at the most relevant recommendations to Catalão and region. Some results are the types of wall and cover, conditioning strategies and positioning and sizing of the openings. The work contributes to identify the characteristics necessary for an architectural project, which attends to bioclimatology, allowing greater energy efficiency for ZB6, with emphasis on the city of Catalão.
