Drought is water availability that is far below the water needs for life, agriculture, economic activities, and the environment. The impact of severe drought in Indonesia occurred in 2015 due to the strong El Nino phenomenon and positive IOD. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Karawang Regency noted that drought in 14 villages spread across three subdistricts in Karawang Regency expanded in 2019. One of them is the Ciampel subdistrict. The purpose of this research is to analyze the drought of agricultural land based on green vegetation, soil organic content, and soil moisture using Tasseled Cap Transformation (TCT) method in Ciampel Subdistrict, Karawang Regency in 2015 and 2019. This research uses Landsat 8 OLI imagery in August 2015, September 2015, July 2019, and September 2019. Agricultural land drought includes three indices, namely the brightness index, wetness index and greenness index. Overlay and scoring three drought parameters to making the map drought of agriculture land with four classes such as normal, moderate, high, and very high drought classes. The results show that the drought occurred in 2015 and 2019, but the dry area is more expansive in 2015 than 2019.

Urbanization has been contributing more in global climate warming, with more than 50% of the population living in cities. Rapid population growth and change in land use / land cover (LULC) are closely linked. The transformation of LULC due to rapid urban expansion significantly affects the functions of biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as local and regional climates. Improper planning and uncontrolled management of LULC changes profoundly contribute to the rise of urban land surface temperature (LST). This study evaluates the impact of LULC changes on LST for 1997, 2007 and 2017 in the Rajshahi district (Bangladesh) using multi-temporal and multi-spectral Landsat 8 OLI and Landsat 5 TM satellite data sets. The analysis of LULC changes exposed a remarkable increase in the built-up areas and a significant decrease in the vegetation and agricultural land. The built-up area was increased almost double in last 20 years in the study area. The distribution of changes in LST shows that built-up areas recorded the highest temperature followed by bare land, vegetation and agricultural land and water bodies. The LULC-LST profiles also revealed the highest temperature in built-up areas and the lowest temperature in water bodies. In the last 20 years, LST was increased about 13ºC. The study demonstrates decrease in vegetation cover and increase in non-evaporating surfaces with significantly increases the surface temperature in the study area. Remote-sensing techniques were found one of the suitable techniques for rapid analysis of urban expansions and to identify the impact of urbanization on LST.

ABSTRACTThe leather tanning industry in Sukaregang, Garut Regency, produces liquid waste containing Chromium and is discharged directly into the Ciwalen River without a waste treatment process. The content of Cr6+ as metal ions in the waste can also contaminating groundwater. The movement of Cr6+ will pass through the soil media before entering to the groundwater wells. The capability of the soil to adsorb the contaminant will reduce the impact on groundwater. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of the soil in adsorbing and inhibiting the movement of Cr6+ into groundwater. The study was carried out at Sukaregang, Garut Regency and conducting adsorption experiments with a batch system. The analysis was carried out using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm model. The experimental results showed that Cr6+ adsorbed ranged from 38% to 57% of the initial concentration. The results from Langmuir Isotherm were: the distribution coefficient (Kads) was 0.45 L/mg and the maximum adsorption capacity (qm) was 2.44 mg/100g sorbent with R2 = 0.959 and Freundlich Isotherm was: qm was 2,86 mg/100g sorbent and Kads was 0,35 L/mg with R2 = 0,860. This large adsorption capacity is caused by soil texture and soil organic content. The soil in Sukaregang tanning industries has a high adsorption capacity towards Cr6+ contaminants.Keywords: adsorption, chromium, Cr6+, contaminant, volcanic soil, GarutABSTRAKIndustri penyamakan kulit di wilayah Sukaregang, Kabupaten Garut, menghasilkan limbah cair yang mengandung Kromium dan dibuang ke Sungai Ciwalen tanpa proses pengolahan limbah.

Expansion of industrial areas, aquaculture, settlements, and limited knowledge of the community about the function of mangroves allegedly led to the conversion of mangrove functions in the early 1990s. This study aimed to map the condition of mangroves from 1988, 1990, 1995, 2008, to 2021 and their effect on the widespread of tidal flooding in three villages (Mangkang Kulon, Mangunharjo, Mangkang Wetan) in Tugu subdistrict, Semarang City. The research method was carried out by using spatiotemporal analysis of Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 imagery through the supervised approach (Maximum Likelihood algorithm). In order to map the correlation of mangrove damage with the widespread impact of tidal flooding, an overlay analysis of land use maps was carried out in 1988, 1990, 1995, 2008 and 2021. The results of the study showed that mangrove damage is correlated with the widespread of tidal flooding that drowns settlements, ponds, and agricultural land. Data analysis showed that the mangrove area in three villages has decreased from 1988 to 2021, covering an area of 242.66 ha. This condition is one of the triggers for the increase in tidal flooding area from 1988 to 2021, covering an area of 253.135 ha. As a natural barrier to prevent abrasion and tidal flooding, mangrove conservation is very necessary, considering the impact of tidal flooding on the coast of Semarang City is increasingly widespread.

The assessment of territorial differentiation of anthropogenic transformation of the Republic of Tuva based on methods of geoinformation technologies, historical geography and methods of A. G. Isachenko using data from the Federal register of land categories and types of land, statistical data of the Federal state statistics service, reports of the Ministry of fuel and energy, the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tuva, was carried out. A total of 17 districts and 2 urban districts were studied. The results of the study reflect the spatial characteristics of the impact of the population and its economic activities on the territory of the Republic of Tuva. Studies have shown that the state of modern landscapes of the Republic of Tuva is characterized mainly by low anthropogenic transformation, against which there are pockets of territories with high anthropogenic transformation - 2 urban districts, which is a consequence of the predominance of mountain terrain; difficult transport accessibility of the Republic; low population density and its extremely uneven settlement; high proportion of land occupied by forests (up to 60 %); inaccessibility of most mineral deposits. Currently, the transformation of the landscapes of the Republic of Tuva, including in high-altitude areas, is affected by the predominance of agricultural land, which occupies up to 32 % of the total area.

Relevance. The problem of studying karst-suffusion processes is that soluble rocks in Russia occupy large areas. The Belgorod region is rich in Cretaceous deposits, which are widespread throughout the territory. Due to the fact that carbonate rocks are susceptible to dissolution by surface and groundwater leads to the formation of karst forms. Such forms open and form places of karst waters’ accumulation, open fissure and cave systems and are becoming areas with an increased environmental hazard to the life of people, infrastructure, civil and industrial buildings. Dangerous exogenous geomorphological processes negatively affect the economic development of the region. The purpose of the article is to study the factors influencing the development and distribution of karst and suffusion processes, the reasons for their occurrence, as well as the impact on the environment. Among hazardous exogenous geological processes, karst-suffusion processes are the most unpredictable. Their occurrence has negative consequences for the economics and economic activities of the region. The main methods used in this study are observation method, laboratory experiment and mathematical modeling. The method of mathematical modeling has relatively recently come into the use by the researchers and allows for a better reproduction of processes on physical models. This study is aimed at determining the interaction of karst and suffusion processes, as well as assessing their impact on the environment. The zoning of the karst and suffusion distribution on the territory of the Belgorod region has made it possible to identify the causes of these processes. To prevent the development and spread of karst-suffusion processes, an integrated approach to the analysis of manifestation, drawing up a forecast plan and measures to counter negative consequences is required. Based on the results of the study, measures were proposed to minimize damage to agricultural land, residential and farm buildings, as well as measures to combat karst and suffusion processes. It should be noted that the results of the study and the developed measures to prevent the negative consequences of karst and suffusion processes can be used in human agricultural activities, construction of civil and industrial enterprises, their reconstruction, laying of communications and development of carbonate new deposits
