The concept of sustainable development requires entrepreneurs to increase awareness and responsibility for business and society. In this regard, the question of the entrepreneurial attitudes in the economic sphere is of scientific interest. The study (N=413) reveals the specifics of economic attitudes of the entrepreneurs compared to employees. Business owners more soberly assess consumer behavior in terms of rationality, they are more inclined to invest, more optimistic about their financial future, and they are more competent in financial issues. At the same time, the cognitive economic activity of the entrepreneurs is expressed at the average level; they tend to evaluate the individual's independent achievements in the economic sphere lower, considering them as something ordinary. Four main strategies of the economic behavior of the entrepreneurs were identified: the strategy of economic activity based on financial knowledge, the strategy of high goals combined with low risk and financial optimism, the strategy of earning and spending money, and the strategy of savings and rationality. In general, business owners tend to agree with the idea of the social responsibility of rich people to the poor, which creates the prerequisites for the sustainable development of society.

Balancing the social, economic and environmental priorities for public health is at the core of the United Nations (UN) approaches to sustainable development, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The four dimensions of sustainable diets are often presented as health, society, economics, and the environment. Although sustainable diet research has focused on health and the environment, the social and economic dimensions of sustainable diets and food systems should not be forgotten. Some research priorities and sociocultural indicators for sustainable healthy diets and food systems are outlined in this report. The present goal is to improve integration of the social dimension into research on food and nutrition security.

The aim of the article is to present the regional differentiation of indicators characterizing the economic development of Polish regions in the context of the progress made in the implementation of the concept of sustainable development in 2010 and 2017. The authors focused primarily on determining the position of Lubuskie Province on the economic map of Poland. This article summarizes the arguments and counterarguments in the scientific discussion on the main prospects for expanding the insurance market through the lens of the financial activation of the sustainable development of the region. The main aim of the study is the theoretical foundations of the insurance market in the context of financial activation of the region’s sustainable development. Systematization of literary sources and approaches to solving the problem of expanding the insurance market through the prism of financial activation of the region’s sustainable development showed that the majority of Ukrainian scientists who dealt with this issue considered certain instruments of activating influence on the social, economic and environmental spheres of the regions. The urgency of solving this scientific problem lies in the fact that the domestic insurance market is at the stage of its formation, in many cases it does not allow to use it as an effective tool for implementing state policy. Considering that sustainable development and insurance as a subsystem of a common economic space exert mutual influence on each other, the lack of a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the strategy for the development of the insurance market negatively affects the consistency and consistency of the sustainable development of society. The study of the problem of the implementation of insurance activities in Ukraine in the article is carried out in the following logical sequence: determining the sustainable development of the region and its revitalization; research of the insurance market at the present stage of development; setting priorities for the development of the insurance market in terms of ensuring the sustainable development of the region. The object of the research is the sustainable development of the region and its activation, as well as the insurance market of Ukraine. Background: recycling is an essential tool for promoting sustainable development, as mechanisms that reduce the use of virgin raw materials will limit the use of scarce resources and reduce the progressive accumulation of waste. as well as contain their side effects and pollution causing health problems, among others. At the base of the recycling system are the collectors of recyclables, agents of this activity who are the workers who pick, select and sell recyclable materials such as paper, glass, metal, garbage, and other reusable materials. Aim: this study aimed to verify the income earned and the contribution to the sustainable development process arising from collecting recyclable materials. Methods: the proposed study was carried out at the Cajazeiras Waste Pickers Association (ASCAMARC), in this city, Alto Sertão da Paraíba. The population and sample are 13 recyclable waste pickers who actively participate in ASCAMARC and voluntarily agreed to participate in the research after being informed about its objectives. The content analysis technique was used through transcripts of interviews with the target audience and documents from secondary sources, and the collected data were also analyzed in quantitative form. Results and Discussion: the results show that 12 (92.31%) waste pickers earn less than one wage, and 01 (7.69%) waste pickers earn a minimum wage through the activity of collecting recyclable material and that there is currently great concern about the damage generated to the environment by solid wastes that have a long degradation time. It was found that 13 (100%) waste pickers believe that collecting recyclable materials contributes to the environment. Conclusions: It can be concluded from the results obtained the social, economic, and environmental importance of the work of waste pickers, despite the precarious conditions in which they perform the activity, without their participation in the base of the recycling chain, perhaps the environmental situation would be more chaotic in recent times.

Abstract Investments towards sustainable development are vital for the future and they must be carefully planned to deliver immediate and long-term benefits. Hence, the ability to communicate the forms of impact of sustainable investments to local societies, people, investors and other stakeholders can provide a competitive advantage. However, the assessments are often under pressure to demonstrate short-term effects rather than emphasise the long-term impact. In addition, indirect and intangible forms of impacts should not be measured solely in economic terms. This paper proposes an assessment framework to support the integrated economic and social impact assessment of sustainable investments aimed at improving physical and socio-economic wellbeing. The framework is demonstrated in two case studies: new construction and renovation investments in affordable housing and social impact investment in sustainable development. The investments in the case studies are evaluated, selected and prioritized not only in terms of money but also with regard to sustainability, social acceptability and their overall impact on society, as a whole. The results indicate that a systematic integrated assessment of monetary and non-monetary factors can be successfully combined with the sustainable development decisions.

Many Polish cities have objects in them that have ceased to function in accordance with their intended use, for one reason or another. These are often post-industrial objects and former military facilities. As a result of the social, political and economic transformations that have taken place in Poland over the years after the Second World War, these objects have lost the meaning of their existence and functioning. Quite often such objects also have a historical character, which may, under Polish law, serve to hinder the possibility of them being reused. A well prepared revitalisation is often the only way for such objects to regain their earlier functionality, or gain a new one. Selected examples of the revitalisation of historic buildings located in Olsztyn (the capital of Warmia and Mazury, the Voivodeship in North-East Poland) were analysed by the authors in this article, and the effects of such actions, connected to the development of the city, were presented. The study included examples of the revitalisation of post-industrial objects and former military facilities. The analysis was performed in the years 2010–2016. The history and previous functional status of the tested objects were presented, as well as their present form and function. The authors have performed a comprehensive analysis of the compliance of new functions of objects with the idea of the sustainable development of the city. The results show the extent to which the analysed activities comply with the principles of sustainable development, in social, economic and environmental terms.
