Cantoned fluids in porous-permeable or fractured media of reservoirs have acquired during the geological time special properties. The fluids from the reservoir could be or not a mixture of reservoir water, liquid hydrocarbons and gaseous hydrocarbons. Considering if inside of a reservoir there are two types of substances like natural gas and reservoir water which may be in the form of vaporous than the condition of saturation of gases with water vaporous is fulfilled. This process is taking place due to thermodynamic equilibrium resulting the so-called gas humidity. This state corroborated with a certain chemical composition plus favourable values of pressure and temperature may be decisive in the appearance of hydrates. In this scientific paper they will be presented from a theoretical and practical point of view the favourable conditions of gas hydrates appearance and the specific ways of inhibiting the formation of this compounds. A case study in which through modelling and numerical simulation of the behaviour of a productive natural gas well will provide a series of data related to this phenomenon. The specific modelling and numerical simulation was adapted to the conditions of formation and subsequently the elimination of the appearance of hydrates.

Natural gas hydrates (NGHs), sometimes referred to as “flammable ice”, are crystalline solids, consisting of hydrocarbon gases with low molecular weight, such as methane, ethane and propane, bound with water molecules within cage-like lattices. The water molecules and low molecular weight NGH lattices are stable within a specific range of temperatures and pressures, and the source of the gases can be biogenic or thermogenic in origin. NGHs are common in the upper hundreds of metres of sub-seafloor sediments on the continental margins at water depths greater than about 500 m. Seismic reflection profiles and wireline well logs are common indicators used to identify the presence of NGHs, which are often encountered during offshore deepwater exploration drilling. They may cause geohazards such as slope instability, expulsion of the seafloor, shallow water flows and shallow gas if the stability of penetrated NGHs is disturbed and starts to dissociate. Methane gas hydrates represent a significant potential energy resource, as illustrated in this case study from offshore NW Sabah and may represent one of the world’s largest reservoirs of carbon-based fuel, with some estimates suggest that the hydrocarbons bound in the form of NGHs may rival the total energy resources contained in other conventional hydrocarbon sources. Methane can be extracted from NGHs through three methods: depressurization, inhibitor injection and thermal stimulation. However, risk associated with NGHs extraction can contribute to environmental concerns such as global warming and a decrease in microbial communities associated with methane hydrate ecosystem. Presently, in many countries, national programs exist for the research and production of natural gas from NGH deposits. As a result, hundreds of deposits have been discovered, with a few hundred wells drilled and kilometres of NGH cores studied. Hence, in the future (pending improved gas price and extraction technology), methane gas hydrates could be a vast source of natural gas supply.

Peacebuilding as a definitions has been initiated and studied quite late, while as a concept it begun to be used after the Cold War. The well-known researcher Johan Galtung, was the one who developed and reasoned the notion of peacebuilding as well as its development phasing.For this scientific paper, which deals with peacebuilding, we have chosen as a case study, the case of Kosovo.The main objective of this paper is to present the developments in Kosovo, and its journey towards peacebuilding, starting from 1999, a period when the war ends and peace begins.Materials elaborated in this paper, are mainly articles and scientific papers by foreign authors, because it is worthwhile and important to have an insight into their point of view regarding Kosovo peacebuilding case.The methodology applied in this research paper, is based on the analysis of these materials, using descriptive and historical method, through which we will highlight the case of peacebuilding in Kosovo.The expected outcomes of this paper, aim to present the definition of peacebuilding as a concept as well as its usage in the case of Kosovo, as a case study used in this research paper. It also aims to show the challenges that Kosovo politics have encountered in order to build a sustainable peace.In the conclusions of this paper, we would like to present the case of peacebuilding in Kosovo as a success story, and this case may be used as a model for other international cases where needed.

The evaluation and process risk assessment of (a) lignin precipitation from black liquor, and (b) the near-neutral hemicellulose pre-extraction for recovery boiler debottlenecking in an existing pulp mill is presented in Part I of this paper, which was published in the July 2012 issue of TAPPI Journal. In Part II, the economic assessment of the two biorefinery process options is presented and interpreted. A mill process model was developed using WinGEMS software and used for calculating the mass and energy balances. Investment costs, operating costs, and profitability of the two biorefinery options have been calculated using standard cost estimation methods. The results show that the two biorefinery options are profitable for the case study mill and effective at process debottlenecking. The after-tax internal rate of return (IRR) of the lignin precipitation process option was estimated to be 95%, while that of the hemicellulose pre-extraction process option was 28%. Sensitivity analysis showed that the after tax-IRR of the lignin precipitation process remains higher than that of the hemicellulose pre-extraction process option, for all changes in the selected sensitivity parameters. If we consider the after-tax IRR, as well as capital cost, as selection criteria, the results show that for the case study mill, the lignin precipitation process is more promising than the near-neutral hemicellulose pre-extraction process. However, the comparison between the two biorefinery options should include long-term evaluation criteria. The potential of high value-added products that could be produced from lignin in the case of the lignin precipitation process, or from ethanol and acetic acid in the case of the hemicellulose pre-extraction process, should also be considered in the selection of the most promising process option.


The article focuses on the problem of the lack of objective evaluation of space-planning arrangement of buildings as a creative approach of the architect to the performing of functional tasks by the object. It is proposed to create a methodology for assessing the functional of space-planning solutions of buildings on the basis of numerical simulation of functional processes using the theory of human flows. There is a description of the prospects of using this method, which makes it possible to increase the coefficient of compactness, materials and works saving, more efficient use of space, reduce the cost of the life cycle of the building, save human forces and time to implement the functional of the building. The necessary initial data for modeling on the example of shopping and shopping-entertainment centers are considered. There are three main tasks for algorithmization of the functional of shopping centers. The conclusion is made about necessity of development of a method for objective assessment of buildings from the point of view of ergonomics of space-planning decisions based on the study of human behavior in buildings of different purposes.

This article examines the claim that Israel’s natural gas exports from its Mediterranean gas fields will give geopolitical leverage to Tel Aviv over the importing countries. Using the geoeconomic tradition of Klaus Knorr and others who wrote about applying leverage using economic resources to gain geopolitical advantage, it is argued that certain criteria have to be satisfied for economic influence attempts, and that Israel’s gas exports do not satisfy these criteria. They include the importer’s supply vulnerability, the supplier’s demand vulnerability, and the salience of energy as an issue between both countries. Israeli gas exports to Egypt are used as a case study.

At the beginning of my paper I will explain the concept of "Geopolitics of Energy", this will be done for a quite simple reason, because I want everyone who can sit to read this article to understand more clearly what is at stake, therefore allow them the comprehension of what is being elaborated bellow at first sight. Geopolitics of energy is a concept that relates to policies choosing exporters to implement on importers, is the policy that has an impact on energy consumption, which includes consumer’s choice in the geopolitical context, taking into account the economy, foreign policy, the safety of energy, environmental consequences and priorities that carries the energy exporter. This concept permits the understanding of how works the politics that undertakes this initiative taking into account natural resources such as: natural gas and oil. Natural gas and oil are two main resources that produce energy but also two main elements on which arises all the topic in the energetics game. For this paper is used qualitative methodology, through which we were able to accomplish this work. I focused on scientific literature, official publications and reports on energy geopolitics. The main aim has been to show how in this decade, energy security is at the center of geopolitical agenda and has become the focus of numerous political debates. Regarding this point of view, Europe is taking the initiative to create a common energy market within the continent by creating projects, in which Albania appears as a new regional energy potential. Russia, which is aiming to play a role in the international arena, is seeking to position itself geopolitically in "its political weapon", hydrocarbon resources, in particular natural gas resources.
